Glitchy you'll find it's kinda hard to keep up with cures against a dot whore spamming at speed cap with an insane dot weapon.

Let's ask this question after the CU, because all we know now will not be the case then. At the moment it all depends on the TKM and who they are dueling. Anyone that is a real PvP and has taken the time to really learn how to do it to the max of their templates capabilities can take you out if you are not careful. As to whether we are overpowered well there isn't any TKA that is ever going to believe we are, but if you ask any of the other profs they will immediately say we are. In actual comparison of how George Lucas meant his world to be, we are all way overpowered since there isn't anyone but a full on Jedi Knight who according to his view should be able to take out a Rancor by themselves, and I can do this in my sleep, so by all means don't as him.

Did you start the duels in melee range as well? No armor and no ranged mitigation means any rifleman or BH pistol will kite you to death in no time hitting mind if you do not start in melee range.

We're not overpowered, that I know of.
I was talking to one of my friends about the Elite Brawler Professions.
The other 3 Brawler professions either have better defenses, quicker speed caps, higher damage output, or access to better weapons.
Teras Kasi stand out because of our versatility and timing.
We are, for the most part, probably the weakest of the brawler professions. But our versatility allows us to shift our fighting styles to match our opponents.
I call myself a pureblood TK (Master Brawler/ TKM with the rest of my SP in 4114 artisan and MWS). I didn't pick up any other skills for defenses. I also don't own any BE clothing for defenses. I never wear armor if I can help it, and I don't have novice medic.
I realized this choice was a hindrance in many ways. But it's also a pride issue for me. I'd rather lose as a Teras Kasi than win as a defense stacker.
As it stands, though, I've won more duels than I've lost.
The timing has a lot to do with it, Phil. While duelingsomeone a couple weeks ago, I dizzy/kd'd him. He used the stand/dizzy cure macro to get up, but I alternated between combo 1 and unarmed dizzy. By the time the dizzy was cured, another was usually applied by the time he was standing up. It didn't do much for him other than empty his mind pool a bit quicker for me.
between Lunge, dizzy, KD, and Warcry, I can usually keep someone on the defensive for most of the fight. Doctors are a favorite target of mine, since I enjoy forcing them to take a moment to use a stimpack. Sure, they can heal 3k damage in one shot, but they're just giving me an opportunity to add more BF to them. This causes their stims to weaken. Plus, I end up doing more damage to them in the long run.
No, we're definitely not overpowered. we're right where we should be.
On a side note, I'd personally like to mention that I'm not "uber" or anything. Defense stackers can usually take me down pretty quick.
But I still take pride in the time I've spent learning as much as I could about Teras Kasi.

In EU TKM's could take out Jedi. There moves are modled after rancor's. Why wouldnt a TKM be able to take a rancor? In EU Other than Jedi/Sith TKM's were up there with the most powerfull.
I have been beaten by every profession at one point or another. We are not overpowered at all. Noobs start pvping ,they happen to get owned by a TKM. There ego's prevent them from seeing any flaws in themselves so they complain that we are over powered.
If anything Melee profs are overpowered as a whole. I still dont by that though. All a ranged prof needs to beat any melee profession is accuarcy food and a timly burst run.
I am a TKM/rifleman I have the best of both worlds. I cant remember how many times I've fought a stacker and all I had to do waskite them. If they were smart they never would have chased me and played my game. Instead they would have ran behind a building and forced me to play thier game.

you basically challenged them to an unarmed duel.
I *LOVE* fighting TKMs in No armor/DoT duels
It's all about knowing what works and what doesn't. The above is even worse in my favor WITH armor, b/c kinetic is SO easy to have 80%+ resist. I don't even bother running when we both wear armor. TKM is a one-trick pony --- it's just that most people fall to that one trick

TKM is not a good solo PvP profession really. That's all there is to it. A TKM in a group is valuable; you can land states like crazy, keep em on the ground, soak up damage while the real damage-dealers (DOT pikemen, CMs, Riflemen, Swordsmen, etc.) get the kills. I rarely got many kills in PvP but I always contributed.

LOL.
Great tactic is to run into a public structure, like one of those NPC "Universities" with all the little rooms. Instant death for a Ranged Profession.

I think it all has to do with knowing your profession from front to back. I recently beat up 2 TKM at the same time in a duel. One was a TKM,Mpistols w some medicand the other a TKM, MSwords. It all had to do with the food I took and the order i did things. That and a whole lot to do that i did research on my profession. Yes I am a def stacker I hate to heal myself or be healed by someone. My current template is Mbrawler, TKM , fencer 0440, swords 3040, pikes 0040 and the rest of the 24 sp on fs xp. I weild a 218 ADK vk. So it has nothing to do with the profession it the person behind it.

i'd also like to point out that dueling does not = pvp. dueling is not a good way to measure whether or not youre a good combatant, imo. it's static and fairly simple, if you know what the other person is prof. wise (and thanks to badges, we do) it is easy to anticipate what they will do.
pvp is a whole nother ball park. it's generally combat against a variety of odds: lag, spammer, random things occuring all around. multiple people all fighting at once, more than one target hitting you. there is armor and dot's and all kinds of crazy things. you cant stop and say, oh wait no dots, oh wait lemme set my macro oh wait my toolbar is fuxxored! you just gotta fight, with no posturing and sometimes very little warning.
so i would say, wait until you have pvp'd extensively before you make judgements

Both my Pistoleer and Rifleman toons don't have problems with TKs... kiting > standing still.
Doesn't mean that I don't die by them (TKM is my favorite profession in the game), but I tend to beat them more often than not. ADK PSGs and DoTs are what get me. (well, and Jedi... Jedi > Ranged).

how does a loaded duel = PvP power? w/o those rules my 0001 pikeman/master doc would own you TK's only great asset is it's tanking ability due to higher toughness(don't get me wrong TK is my favorite profession) it's avg in PvE(lack's high end) uber vs jedi PvP and low end true PvP due to only kinetic damage

might be the case but these were all veteran buddies of mine some had PVP ratings of like 1800+ and I would beat them (and yah doc fire blankets rock) but yah some of them were good duelers lasting 3-4 mins and some were just over before they would start probably cuz of my ground rools
-no dots
-no armor
-no DB's
