Here is what I have and it works wonders.

Teras Kasi Master, CH 4,4,0,4, Novice Medic and Carbineer 0,1,0,2

This gives me TKM, enough medic skills to heal myself while in battle with some good stimB's, a Tank to keep storm troopers and other faction pets off my back, and a ranged knockdown and legshot3. By the time somone starts running from me they have no action hp letf. Legshot3 then comes in great handy

Good post Liriel.

Personally, I'm struggling with what to do. I have changed my end template too many times to count. I dropped Master Marksman for Master Brawler but with the recent changes, Master Brawler is rather useless. Being a Master TK is rather useless as well, at least for me because I wanted to PvP.

They keep changing the game in ways that have drastic affects on skill sets. I have been taking lines in Fencer and Pistoleer to have high defenses from things like KD & Posture Change. However, with the recent change to KD, these defenses are trivial and useless basically.

At this point, I don't really want to make anymore serious changes to my template because I know SoE is going to make more far reaching changes that could just ruin all the work I do again.

I alsofear I won't be playing SWG much longer because PvP is a big factor for me. Being someone who loves Melee, there appears to be no future for me in SWG.

I dislike questions like these. To me it sounds like "How can I be the most uber killer of them all?"

I don't believe there is a BEST combo. Do what you want and what you like, if you are really good with a certain combo, then that is the BEST For you.

It's all about personal preference.

hmm, tka master friend of mine suggested i try master doc out as well, even tho i told him the downsides(which seem like many), he knows the game alot better than i do.. so i may try it out

but you have to ask yourself are you going for a well rounded char, a tank, or a damage dealer..

or some else that nobody has thought off?

I heard alot of good once, Master Doctor / TKM and so on but here is my idea.

Master TKA
Master Brawler
Fencer (4,0,4,0)
Swordsman (0,0,4,0)
Pikeman (0,0,4,0)
Medic (3,0,3,0)

Look at those range and melee defense mods..

Anyone have comment? or other ideas?

I am curious about your using Medic 3/0/3/0... As a master TKA you have no need of wound healing ability for yourself, making anything above a medicine use of 5 (all that is needed for StimB and achieved at Novice Medic) a waste of skill points. And I cannot remember anything beneficial in the First Aid skill tree to warrant climbing up 3 tiers there. I believe first aid comes at tier 2, but that is made obsolete for the TKM through the meditative technique line, at least on a personal basis.

Those are just my observations, and being at work I am unable to check on all the numbers, but I think you may be better off using your skill points in other areas. Unless there is something that I have missed.

I do agree however with the person that stated something to the effect that you need to find your own balance in the game that matches your style of play. Make sure that you are getting out of the game what you are looking for.

Good luck!

If you think first aid is useless just because of meditate, you've obviously never been blinded AND bleeding in PvP.....

I noticed no one mentioned Ranger. I can see why since currently the creature to hit mods are ranged only, but still. As a master ranger, I can't be kited and can outrun any PC/NPC and most non-flying mobs, at least the ones I've come across (note the terrain has to be broken somewhat and not purely flat). I am closing in on TKM but I have thought about giving up ranger for other reasons (most notably the recent nerfs that were advertised as "enhancements"). If I keep it I'd use the remaining 18 SP on Novice CH + tame 1/train 1 for a CL 25 pet.

Strong statement! Wrong, but strong... I have been both blinded and bleeding in PvP... however, I can honestly say I have never had a PvP fight last long enough to warrant the use of those skill points. Now if a single shot of First Aid cured these ailments then I could see it's usefulness. I, however, found it usually took between 4 and 8 applications to work so I dropped it to use the points elsewhere.

Now in a major PvP battle with numerous folks maybe it would be more useful for fear of getting beat upon while meditating. Personally I feel the points could be spent better elsewhere.

This isn't the BEST combo, but I find it a fun combo nonetheless.

Master TKA
Master Bio-Engineer
Novice Creature Handler

It gives me a variety of combat abilities, healing abilities (from the medical prerequisites of BE), and a fun crafting profession in which I can make pets I can use.

It's also fun to play both red-headed-stepchild classes (Now that Commando is useful).

Wulfgarin -

I myself am a Master Medic, not a dabbler, and frequently cure my bleeding in only 1 or 2 applications. And it's saved me countless times during large battles when I don't have the chance to sit and meditate, or can't because of having some status effect on my that prevents meditation. Perhaps the difference is in dabbling vs being a master, I wouldn't really know since Master Medic was the first thing I got, and I didn't PvP much way back then

It also doesn't hurt to be able to firstaid the other members of my PA as we run around destroying imperials, but obviously that's getting into another area entirely. My only point was that if you rely solely on meditate to cure bleeding, you're going to encounter times when you CAN'T meditate and might die because of it. Whether that's worth spending the points on is up to each individual to determine.
