seems we both had the same idea more or less, and im sure teh devs have had the same thought they just need to see sence as atm the pre-reqs for tka dont really make any sence....at least let us choose which spare line we do

I'd rather see the second line shift from 2H to Polearms, because I'm paranoid about my precious Intimidate.MovingIntimidate from Novice Brawler to the third box of a line of Pikeman seems a bit extreme.

Intim was very overpowered when you think about how much of an effect it had though, now though it is a huge part in a proffesions tanking abilities (a pikemans tanking method is that of target modifaction). In theory though, we shouldn't need intimdate, as they shouldn't be hiting us much in the first place.

& one thing with the moving of UA to Pole, I'm pretty sure they would then move Pike away from UA & to something else (2H maybe?) & so you don't really end up much better off. If there is a change to the prereq's in this was I'm sure they will change it so no two melee proffesions have the same two lines of brawler, otherwise you get alot of inbalances.

u mentioned brawler twice in the prereq's mankind...

there must be a motive to make us have need for 2H, honestly, it cant just be a move needed to

make us waste some sp.. the idea of the duel wield knucklers has come up and if this

was to be implemented it would serve perfect rite for our need of the 4 boxes...

and to do with the intim and warcry movement i would have thought that these two skills would be the highest

on our list to keep.. they seem very TKA motivated and in the aspect of us not having any use of armour i

should think that an ability to stop us from recieving any damage would be of utmost importance and need..

Dual wield VKs would be a cosmetic change if implemented I'm sure, the same way that you can't wear just one glove (sorry Michael). Also, 2H swords means using 2H weapons, not using 2 1-handed weapons.

My best guess (because I don't know better) is that the 2H was given as a pre-req for TKAs because of an arbritray decision. TKA has to have something, so give them 2H. I think it should have gone like this:

TKA needs Pole (because I like the idea of a martial artist with a staff/spear more than a 2H sword)
Pole needs Swordsman (because both teach two-handed fighting styles)
Swordsman needs Fencer (because both use swords, one uses big and one uses small)
Fencer needs TKA (because TKA teaches the Fencer evasion, small weapons don't block or parry well)

That seems plausible to me. The choices made by the devs seem done at random.

Great minds think alike Atama... Thats one of the combo's I threw in to a thread in the corre forums.

It most likely has to do with which profs will have which abilities for what skill points costs, rather than any martial arts logic/fluff.

The requirement's don't bother me much because a) I'd rather have armor break than bleed, and b) I'll most likely be master brawler anyways. : )

1) armorbreak... I will respond once I bet up some TKA

2) besides armorbreak there are no basic 2-handed moves... so what's the point of this question?

3) You know how I feel about 2-hand.

Due to intimidate being so powerful its not good to make our pre-req Polearms. 2-hand can kiss my butt, I dont want to be a part of the latestr FOTM. One hand... well I've alwyas hated fencers anyway so I'm not to partial to this either. I still say we should be a step above the generic weapon brawlers and to offset this cost we should (though I don't like it at all but in all fairness) cost a bit more by beintg a hybred profession. I still say Medic General Healing. Knowledge of physiology... how to use it most efficently, what its absolute limitations are, how to break it, and how to fix it (meditate).

TKM for Life.

- I support keeping & balancing the current combat system You can too

Whoever said "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight" was right; it wouldn't be fair. I can kick your butt without the knife.

Teräs Käsi in the CU - TKA Prerequisites.

Please try & keep most prerequisite stuff here.

- Does Armourbreak (the 2H 4 special) seem, reasonably, effective as a TKA?

- Do you see some of the basic swordsman moves been useful to you as a TKA?

- How do you feel about the 2H prereq. Keep in mind that all professions now require another line from somewhere, no profession covered by the CU now requires more then one line.

For this one please try & keep in mind that saying 'make our prereq Master Brawler' is just not going to happen & to a large amount of people this would be worse then just a 2H prereq as it might been three lines & a mastery they don't want instead of just one line.

- Any other thoughts?

Armorbreak - it appears to lower the combat level related damage resistance of your target by one 'degree'. Fighting a blue con I was doing 92-95 damage. Fighting a white con Iwas doing 80 damage. Applying armor break to a white con increase my damage to 92-95.

It doesn't appear armorbreak is doing anything for me with Unarmed 4, after a few more kills I noticed me damage against white cons was either 80 or 92, without using armor break.

Armor break is the only 2h sword move we get, but it can be considered a TKA move because it IS a prerequisite to TKA.

Of the 3 other brawler lines 2h is probably the best. we'll take less damage if our target dies faster

What about a system that does as much character customization as they developers say they want us to be able to choose. By this I mean, lets say i wanted to master a Melee profession, more spicifially, TKM.

Well, how about not dictacting wich line to choose, just that we do have to master two lines in the novice profession of the master profession we choose.

Like if i want to do TKM, i know i have to master unarmed making my template in melee 4XXX. But, what about letting me choose any of the other three Xs to master? Let me do two handed, polerarmed, or fencer???

Decent idea i think.

We (the melee Correspondents & Alpha teams) have thrown lots of suggestions at the Devs about this, if & when we get something we can post to you guys we will but right now it's a case of we have said, said again & said more, but at the mo we have nothing we can post to you guys about this.

If by the end of the week something hasn't been said more about it I will push more on this.
