And be that as it may, i did not say TKAs are better in ANY way than everything else. All I wanted to express is that you get more out of an hour gameply/per skillpoint investment as TKA than as BH, commando, pikeman etc.

An example: BHs outpay for time AND skillpoints is LOW against a TKM, in numbers:

skillpointsAND time=effectivness of combat profession

BH:

217 SP and 30 days

TKA

94 SP and 5 days

Yet both are - depending on circumstances - more or less equal (if the TKM gets within 25 m its over for the BH, but its NOT over for the TKA if the BH gets OUT of 25 m, so the odds are with the TKM).

If the numbers have a MEANING at all the BH should be at LEAST TWICE as powerful as TKA and SELDOM be defeated.

Thats what the numbers say - sorry. If the TKA is MEANT to be HIGHPOWERED - very well. Then INCREASE the cost of skillpoints.

It is ridiculous that a TKM can master almost 2 ADDITIONAL ELITE COMBAT or even master CM or MD while a combarible profession (in combat strength) has ONLY 33 SP to spend left.

POWERDABBLING is what makes TKA so overpowered.

So I recommend to increase the cost of skillpoints, NOT TO NERF ANY OF THE POWERS the TKA profession has. It is a working profession, and there are not many of them in this game.

I for one DONT think that BH's should be all that powerful. I remember playing KotOR and I ran across tons of bounty hunters.. ALL of them were very weak, the only strong one was Calo Nord but I still sliced him down with my saber. Oh and btw.. the weak bounty hunters I killed I killed with a normal sword.

The DEVs have proven that they will not do this. They will not modify (increase)how many skill points it takes to get TKA. The DEVs will nerf TKA if they feel that the skill investment does not rate the power TKA has. At one time Ihad a toon that was an MCH. People would say "Increase the skill points required for CH so thay can justify the mean ol critters they have". What did the DEVs do? They castrated CH.

Based on the coding track record of the DEVs they will take the easy way out if they feel TKA is to powerful. And the easy way out aint Skill Point Increase.

Damon123,

First... let me be clear on something before I comment on your post. I totally aggree with your results from testing BH against TKA.

That said, let's discuss what you said about skillpoints. Who the hell cares how many skill points you've spent to become a BH? Let's see... should being a Scout have anything to do with giving you more effectiveness in combat? No. The dev's made that entire profession a basis for BH mainly because BH's need to live in the wilds, tracking and trapping their marks. When was the last time you read or saw (in a movie) a BH take a contract to hunt down a sharnaff? So through all those skill points in Scout you spent out the window when comparing what you can hunt to a SPECIALIZED MELEE FIGHTER.

Bounty Hunters should be hunting down marks, Jedi, taking contracts to kill people. That's what they are good at. High damage with a unique weapon (LLC), Eye-Shots with a good pistol (Scatter Pistol), and other unique abilities with their carbine skills. They are not meant to stand on even ground with a character who's entire focus is beating the snot out of people. Their focus is more tactics, and more one on one focus against a MARK.

I would suggest that you play your profession more accurately to what they are meant to be... not because you think they should be uber.

How'd this post go from being a funny post to being a serious post? I do agree with awentwor though.

Just wanted to pop in with a take on all this... Ok, so it costs 217 points to master BH... which gives you the ability take bounty hunter missions which when fixed will include player Jedi, harvest, make camps, throw traps, and burst run/terrain negotiation mods, as well as combat abilities.

It costs 94 points to master TKA... which gives you the ability to meditate and fight unarmed. How is this all out of whack again?
