Thread: Teräs Käsi in the CU Questions Last update 07/04
Some professtion get defense as well as armor mitgation which give them back some of thier defense. You's think our defenses will surpase them having both armor and some defense?
BUT, will TKM have the abilities to solo anything?? Some of us love TKM because it gives us the power to defend ourselves as well as defeat our enemies.
ALSO, what new sound/visual changes, if any can we expect? Are TKMs gonna sound like Bruce Lee??
FINALLY, will I be able to keep my current TKM/MRifles template?"
No. you're thinking of the new system in the context of what's in Live today.
The only people to get mitigation are BH
Pikeman "tank" by lowering the defenses and damage of the opponent.
TK's tank by avoidance.
No one has gotten to elite yet to see how this really works, but I imagine that we will avoid A LOT of hits.
Think of it this way, Teras Kasi is the ONLY profession that is rated a 5 for defense. (all rankings are 1-5)
I know this sounds like it won't work without armor and such, but that isn't the case.
please, just wait and see.
Wait and see what! Its obvious we get 5 and pike get 4 defense ratings.
Example
guy runs 100yds. in 9.4 is the fastest man 5 for speed
but the guy who runs 9.5 is first loser. 4 for speed
Who decided we are 5 devs right....... yeah right

Does a TKM retain his defence when using a non tkm weapon. Say a tkm carbineer.
When using the carbine, do any defences change since we can profession stack?
Can we use a two handed sword to do advanced tkm moves, since we are certified in it?

If you equip anything other than a knuckler, you lose Unarmed Defense.
If you equip any ranged weapon, you lose the use of Center of Being.
You can use any melee move you own with any melee weapon you are certified for. You can also use any ranged move you own with any ranged weapon you are certified for.

Not quite true.
As TKA we should get a deffence that works no matter what as long as we don't wear armour. Keep in mind it may not show in the skill trees.
If you think about it, the new system makes more sense. Wielding a pistol shouldn't make it harder to dodge, covering your body in metal plating should.

Heres to hoping this patch has the new character sheet.

My main fearIsthat the CUis going to change the dynamics of the game so that you MUST be grouped to both gain xp and do missions except for the most basic newplayer type content. (1-3k missions)
EXAMPLE: Look at JTL and wonder why the tier 2 missions on up are so damned hard you practically NEED at least one wingmate that is at least tier3(if not Pilot Ace) or about three or foursame tierfriends. Remeber having to look for someone to help with the missions? Scared yet? If you need a group to get even 5-10k missions Don't expect to make any money quickly either. Keep the solo group nerf in mind. Better grind out those missions and make as much as you can, while you can. Because Isee the game economy going the way of EQ2, after six months finally getting 50k lol
JTL is all about personal skill. And I worked all the way through Rebel pilot, not once, but TWICE without help except on the Corvette.
As for the rest. IF you're a combat profession, even a low damage dealer like TKA, you can solo stuff thats white con and progress reasonably. But to get to the big stuff, yes you will have to group. But I read the group size is now 8. 8 people.. taking on the Corvette orDWB. Is that possible before the CU? I think they've actually made it better at the high end for soloing AND grouping.
