Thread: I Dueled with a TKM! (Hang on Guys we have alot to look forward too!)
TKM or not .....with the right protections i can take from 2-50 points of damage from Unarmed hit 3 from a TKM with the right protections. You guys better realize that we need more then just kinetic damage to be effective or your in for a big surprise when you fight someone who is truly prepared.

Well, yes, the duels don't fall anywhere near in line with Aikido ideals or fundamentals...but Lo-Bai is not practitioner of Aikido...
I patterened him, like most folks, after a composite of great kung fu/martial arts/samurai movies I've partaken of. I particularly like the samurai flicks (Yojimbo, etc.) where the samurai through a stick into the airand whatever way it pointed when it landed, that's the way he walked until he hit a town.
I don't profess to be profound or even have class...I just kick butt and am constantly looking to improve my techniques in PvP and get a little weary of the harsh feelings of large Reb/Imp PvP battles...duels are honorable and fair if the rules are agreed upon beforehand and followed. It's fun.

Yes, I can vouch for the power of the TK Master. I spent an hour or so running duels with one last night. He was also a doc, so his HAM was always buffed. not sure if he was spicing or what foods he used, but I assume he used them, Because It took 3 shots for me to ever kill him. Although, only once did I ever get 3 shots off, because once he was near me, it was over. The one time i beat him, was from kiting and using Very powerful weapons, and getting very lucky they hit him.
The other night we were fighting rebels in Bestine, when I managed to torch a TKM. after the fight , I wandered over to the Med center for some wound heals, when out of no where the TKM comes in and Destroys me and the 2 docs that were tending my wounds in about 5 seconds. It looked like a scene out of the Matrix with red feet tracers flying all over the place lol. It was the coolest thing ive seen in a while. And, unlike when I Cone a group with a TEF, this guy was getting alot of respect tells from me and the other victims. Hehe, you should see some of the tells I get =/

"o-sensei" is used for any great teacher, not just those of martial arts. Check out this page:

BTW, "O'Sensei" is an odd romanization. Sounds like he's Irish. When romanizing Japanese, an apostrophe represents a glottal stop.

I 've also taken many martial arts and currently take Aikido. Trust me Japanese teachers are called senseis, not O'Sensei. Sensei= highest ranking teacher in Japanese arts, Sifu= the same in chinese ones.
So, yes you have adopted his name. Its up to you whether you feel like changing it or not. To me it makes no difference and I feel Aiki or harmonious enough so no need to relax. Just thought the real O'sensei deserves more respect than being a SWG character.

No the guy I dueled was a TKA master doesn't matter if he sucked or not he has the exact same skills and bonuses as the rest of you. What I find funny is how some people are in here posting saying they take like 1/4 normal damage because of all there defense bonuses as a master. I also find it funny how certain people think they can take on 2 graul maulers at a time and defeat them. Without using your knucklers your damage output sucks, and using them you almost kill yousrself with drains doing any move that hits for descent damage.

Lol, yeah right buddy, first of all its a graul mauler, and no you cannot tank one by yourself, maybe if it was lying on its back and not fighting at all, but you wouldnt last more than 3 hits against a rancor or a graul mauler.
At TKM, with 30/40/30 knucklers (roughly not in game right now) and it takes roughly 180 ham per UA3. As a wookiee myself, I can tell you I'd be at least at 1/3 HAM after taking out a grand wrix
I am a master pistoleer and I dueled a TKA master other night.
We both stood still 5 meters away from each I didnt move or kite, and we
both used random HAM attacks. I won 2/3 of the fights and half the time
with plenty of health still left. TKA master does not make you take less damage
either.
my knucklers are 12/15/12...pretty sweet.
And a master TKA would take a bit less damage than at any other lever because of the deffence mods they get.
