OMFG how do you people survive. Mc please stop out of the DNA pool and DONT BREED! How you would even remotely attaind that kind of info from the poster is BEYOND me. You have some serious issues if you got that, maybe thats been weighing on your mind perhaps. Im sorry i just couldnt leave this post without saying something to you. That idea would have NEVER crossed my mind if you hadnt of said anything.

Macknzie you sound likeyou have a) never played football and thus probably haven't had the opportunity to tackle hot chicks.. and b) a serious problem with rape. While the former is quite sad and probably its too late to fix it, the second has no place on these forums. The original poster was not stating that he wanted to go out and assault women, he was making a rather humorous attempt at levity in order to get his point across. You, on the otherhand, have some serious issues you need to deal with if you are not capable of playful interaction with women. I, not a rapist, have tackled many a hot chick in my days and not any of them saw fit to file assault charges on me.

To the original poster.. I agree with your idea. Since surprise is probably a TKA's best weapon, a 'tackle' type maneuver that not only knocks the opponent down, but (sorry, gonna cringe at this word) "roots" them to the ground for say 10s so they cannot escape would be very appropriate. OF course, this would not, like other posture changes, prevent them from firing on you (with the appropriate range modifiers for cqc) while you are tackling them.

As a bounty hunter, I know two things about TKA's.. when I see one (or pikemasters, or fencers) I run the other way and keep running til I see the range meter go up. The other, is thatI can't beat their damage if I stand there and take it, I've tried.. TKA's eat my lunch. From a BH perspective, using the LLC special on you guys is useless, it misses over 50% of the time, rendering me completely unable to do anything for 10s.. if I live through 10s standing next to you, you don't deserve to be called a TKA =) I've felt the fist of fury, and no, Sir, I didn't like it.

This argument, to me, comes down to a few things.. 1) You guys are not even bringing a knife to a gunfight. You only cost 94 points, use the other 156 pnts to pick up something that can get your opponent in your range. If you want my opinion, pick up Smuggler's Dirty Fighting tree.. Lowblow puts themon the floor from range and you can close in and put the whomp down on them TKA style. You can't seriously be talking about balancing TKA vs Commando as they spend about 2x more points than you to get their profession going. You should be talking about TKA+(???) to balance out Commando.. at the same amount of points spent, anyone should be able to kill anyone.. (unless that idiot mastered medic, marksman, brawler, and scout).

.. and 2) it *is* a tactics issue. If you choose not to have a ranged attack in a game based on blasters and starships, you're giving yourself a significant penalty. This isn't like the Scout/Ranger/Hunter issue in DAoC where they were the only ones with non-magical ranged attacks. Everyone in this game has a blaster when they start out, its your choice if you choose to ignore it. So pick up a ranged knockdown, and your life can be much easier. Hell, even if its just suppressive fire from the Ranged Support line in Marksman... forcing them to kneel will stop their movement and let you put the whomp down on them. I spend 227 pnts on my profession, I don't have the luxury of being unique nor flexable in my spec. You guys only spend 94 points, you have a much stronger potential spec if you just reach out and use the rest of the tools that are provided to you.

For those who never had that particular crime occur to you, maybe you should have. Consider your consciousness raised. At least now it might occur to you to think about it. Your entitled to your thoughtful opinion.

To be clear, it's my ethical and moral obligation to confront sexist behavior wherever I find it. You don't have to listen (indeed, it is obvious that most who posted haven't), but I have to say something and I guarantee that for every man who says to lighten up and it's not a big deal, there's many more who have had their mothers, friends, sisters and partners disclose some kind of assault.

Bottom line is that the idea is sound (I really do think it's a good addition to the game), however I must ask the poster to be a little more thoughtful with his language. Not only is it offensive to me, but it could be hurtful to survivors.

I think what you are describing is the same concept that Lunge was ment for in the original design. Lunge took many changes before and after launch, so it is nolonger the skill that you describe. The only thing you describe differently is the running and charging part.

I do like the idea of running and charging. I think it would be a nice addition to the lunge skill if you got 2 or so seconds of burst speed from it if you were out of range. That would let the skill really help towards fighting the anti-kite movement. I'd also like to have a more "lungey" animation for the lunge skill. A twirling backhand really doesn't look much like a lunge.

I also think a tickling move would be pretty darn funny. Imaging seeing combat spam : "Player1 performs Fondling Rib Poke to player2 for 270 LMAO damage." or maybe "Player1 performs Foot Feather Torture to player2 for 467 ROFL damage." Heh. Nice typo.

I agree on you confronting sexist behavior. It is sad to think that a t this day and time people still discriminate in many ways one of them being through sexist behavior. Tackling girls in a football field (if that is the case) is not necessarily this type of behavior. All I can say is that is a very immature way to treat a female. I assume that people in this forum are past this immature stage and would not behave in such a manner. The truth is that if I saw someone tackling a girl, for no apparent reason (only reason being that she is actually involved in the game) I would beat him up so bad that he would never ever think about doing this again. Before doing this consider tackling your mother or sister and then if you still think of it appropriate do it. Just don’t let me catch you; or any of my friends.

In a lighter note, MaC. Just think of the message as a very poor way of getting a message thru. Perhaps it was ignorance or a futile attempt at being funny. Anyways let it go and return to constructive criticism of the game. If you think that sexist behavior is still occurring then report it to the proper authorities. Ths forum has a place where you can report such behavior.

Then again, like I said, it is nothing. Personally I did not think much of the message, at least not in an offensive way. And trust me I do not condone sexist behavior at all. I just think that a good idea was expressed in a wrong matter. Also don’t be so quick as to judge people and hope that something that you do not approve of happens to them, and that hey do not understand what it mean ,or even worse has happened to them or a loved one.

So unless you really feel offended by what was said, please lets try and change the subject, and concentrate on what the forum is about. I promise you that if I see sexist behavior I will report it, If you see some and don’t feel comfortable then let me know and Ill report it.

I think you'remisunderstood what he was saying... i dont think he's talking about tackling hot chicks but merely referring to "FootBall" as "football and hot chicks" cause y'know the chearleaders are half the reason guys watch football.
