Are they really all saying that or are you assuming anyone that doesn't like the CU is a template stacker who wants to be able to solo krayts ?

I lived for the first year and a half as a Wookie without armor, "poor me" you all cried, "just re-roll idiot". Well I am sorry that you will no longer be able to do more damage than a Rocket Launcher or stand toe to toe with the most fearsome creatures in the galaxy with your bare knuckles, but guess what thats a dose of reality for you. Now take your own advice and REROLL, LEAVE, but most importantly SHUT UP.

well techniquely we still will be able to stand toe to toe with the most fearsome creatures in the galaxy as a tank just wont be able to deal any damage and will need to learn (rember key word of the CU) TEAM work

from lasti heard thats pretty much out propose in the cu as a tank if you want to deal damage and be "ub3r L337" in PVE go damage dealer like swords

Hiya all
I am too old to get all worked up of the CU, either positive or negative.
Things are never black and white in my opinion, unlike all you can see on most of these forums.
I have myself tested CU for a while, and all in all I found it lacking as it is now in test per 18th of April
To summarize everything, I find the ideas of, faster paced action, more tactical gameplay to be the real highpoint of the upgrade. I can live wiht the fact that the icons hurt my eyes, that everytime you do specials you get a fireworks show allthough I dont get the sense that I am in star wars anymore.
Challanges and tougness of a game is SUPER, boring gameplay is not.
However, since I have restrictions on how I play (Solo, PVE due to an hour here and there) I find the implementation in TC quite the oposite.
It is slower, and tactics as a solo player is non existent.
All in all I will not pass judgement until after release to see if this game still hold my interrest. If I stay, I stay ...
If I leave, I leave simple as that.
For the time beeing I dont like the CU at all, but I want to give the game the benefit of the doubt for the time beeing

add one more to your list of people who sudenley love you for that post. i also have gotten sick of how people have been complaing. Is it right that certain combinations of professions allow a single player to take down the most powerfull creatures in the game with out any help form others? NO! Dakin i thank you, itis finally nice to find a post about the CU that isn't whining about how it is going to suck, or how it is imposible to kill anything in it (just wait for the devs to balance it out before you complain about that).

I've been TKM for almost a year now, and I've got to say being able to stand-my-ground against a Krayyt(or even a single Rancor) with nothing but a pair of knucks in my hands is ridiculous. Just not Star Wars at all, IMO. Those creatures outta be able to kill ANY solo player on site, regardless of mitigation this or mitigation that (except maybe knights). The only reason I picked up TKM was because I usually have to solo everything (2nd-shift 3 a.m. player here), and it allowed me to do so very well. Now with the CU coming I can finally go back to the one combat profession I loved the most - pistoleer. I heard the devs are really hooking pistoleers up, too. Can't wait to strap on a sidearm and once again feel like I'm playing STAR WARS.

Evening Folks!

I'll come right to the point. I don't mind us getting some numbers rearranged for the sake of global balance among the professions. For the longest time we have been semi-godlike in our capabilities. When armored, fully buffed, and at master level we put many professions including some jedi templates to shame. We were bad enough with just TKM but when combined with another kinetics based profession we were unstoppable.

BUT....

Imposing team requirements on players who just want to solo is ridiculous. According to the new design that is what the game will be... Nothing but guilded players. Anyone not within a guild will be considered irrelevant. This I totally disagree with but its coming regardless of what we think or say in the forums. Be prepared for the coming Onslaught!

Now lets face it the new design for TKMs on the test server simply sucks. It is not a challenge when it takes you 3.5-6.5x longer to do a move than a person wielding a gun for more damage. The moves wehave are so lowin damagewe might as well stand still while others fight for us... Our new title shouldbe "Meat Shield" not "Tank". Special move changes are so/so. I think we were robbed of some nice combat manuavers for crap like "blind recovery" which is a joke. If you are fighting someone/something that has dizzy it will hit you multiple times with the same effect... YOUWILL NOT REMOVE IT! Give us back the protection against said states, drop these pathetic abilities, and come up with something worthwhile!

In conclusion, the idea for spreading the goodness between the professions is an excellent concept but it is not worth sacrificing the ability to solo either. Furthermore Devs, quit trying to pass off standardized commands in an effort to avoid writing new combat abilities for each profession.

Dude i agree... i feel for a lot of people that want to play both sides of the game.. I am TKM/ Master Smuggler.. i hardly ever go out and try to take on anythin UBER by myself...

I get it that they want you to play in a group if you wanna go NS hunting or Krayt Hunting.. BUT.... i would like to go and play solo killing the usual grind creatures... pickets/hurrtons/voritor trackers etc etc the list goes on.. and getgood XP/FP/Cash, whatever you want.

i just want to be able to have choice in the way that i play.. just like i do now.. i admit that fully buffed and fooded up we are HARDCORE.. and i'm not gonna complain about that..i have played on TC and i don't like it at all.. i understand that the game needs reballancing to make the professions more equal and with clearer objectives but this wholescale change to the way that probably everyone plays is well as i see it quite inconsiderate from a game perspective and from a RL perspective.

just my 2 cents

WELL SAID!!

tkm got balanced from like 5/5/5 to 3/5/1 that drop them from super uber to normal combat prof level pre-cu. But post-cu it's still better than pistoleer, they are at 2/3/4, the worst damage output of all combat prof.

I would actually like to see they let tkm wear armor, but when wearing armor the damage output drop to zero or close to zero, but they can take a ton of damage, can u imagine the market for tkm when people go big game hunting? everyone will be looking for tkm to tank, it will be the most sort after prof post-cu.

tkm = TanKMaster

for those tkm who wishes to have more damage dealing power, they could always take sword for damage output.

I agree so much with these statements...i just don't know how we are going to be tanks...i got killed as a master TKM by one shot from a dragonet !!! What the heck...am i going to tank gorgs or something...i am a solo player as well...i don't play enought either to find groups to hunt...the only other thing i absolutley can't stand is the fact that half the time i have no idea what move i'm doing or can do or whatnot...

i disagree with nearly everything said. our current system is gold compared to what the cu is. yes our systemisnt perfect but you dont just ABANDON it because its not perfect. in our current system the problems are mapped out, everything is familiar unlike the many many issues that will come along in this new system during the coming months.and you know what else? the things you mentioned as problemsarent even problems ofour combat system. buffs and the effectiveness of armor are all incidental. these things arenot naturally apart of the combat system but additions to it. and as it is, these things would have been more easily removed and tweaked then reinventing an entiresystem.
