Thread: VK or no VK?

I still use them at master TK. Sometimes. Sometimes not. I use armor sometimes and sometimes not too. I don't do UA3 or KD with the knucklers though. But I will do UA2 and the pool-targetted specials. The more armor I wear, the more I tend to lay off the specials and just use the VK.

Ok, some of you have said you get enough with damage as you approach master without the vibros. So I want to know how it is with the speed? I currently have power tech 2 and I use the VK's mainly for the speed, have to be sure to get a couple of shots at dizzy to be sure it sticks, while he's still on the ground. Will I get enough speed at power tech 4 to loose them or will I have to wait until master?

Because of how the formula works (or doesn't work, some might say) once you have over +100speed mod, the weapon speed is irrelevant. You will always hit at the speed cap (once per second) no matter what. At TKM speed is no longer a deciding factor - only damage, AP, and HAM costs.

what i want to know is--when you hit master or power4 do they help at all, do they still increase speed and power? or do they just not affect you?

Sorry.. missed that part of your question. I don't have data on the delay multiplier for various TKA specials, but I'm quite confident that you will hit any special attack at the speed cap bare fisted at Power4.

I havent worn armor in probaly over a month pvp or pve just dont seem to have a use for it. I am fairly high in medic tho so I can heal myself on avg of 800 to 1k ham. VK's are more of a what im fighting type thing, ya I hate having to use a wep but its also a neccesary evil if your going against armor foes. I would however say if your going to buy armor then adv ubese is the way to go for pve and of course composite for pvp.

I'm absolutely against the use and very existance of the Vibroknuckler. I feel it has tainted the profession's core. I'm baffled by the notion of a solelyunarmed combat discipline using a weapon other than onesnatural limbs. I must sound like a broken record, but "Teras Kasi", "Steal Hands"in essence means that you'd have no need for a weapon asyou yourself have become one. Is that so hard to comprehend?!

Perhaps the Vibro Knucklers resembles the stolen hands of the Teras Kasi Artists.

Personally I don't use Vk's of course thats because im a TKM For novices I suggest using them up until you master the power tree. From then you should be fine unless your facing a light armored mob or for pvp. Buffing really helps the ham costs and a crate of Grey Gabaki for the +500 focus will really decrease the mind cost. If you can find a mind reducing power up and things should be fine. Right now its nothing but kd2, unarmed hit 3 Wash,Rinse and Repeat

Armored mobs = yes, Unarmored mobs = generally no. My favorite move is to stun, blind, KDequip and then UA2 on the tougher mobs. If they aren't armored and/or have good Kinetic resists I'll leave them off unless I need to take out a mob fast. The HAM costs with a Breath of Heaven drink arealmost halved with the Knucklers, so I can spam quite a few UA2's when needed. The bottom line is to keep them handy. I'll also use them when my mind is low and I can't do any more specials.

I have found armor, even ubese to be more of a negative impact to me now as a Teras Kasi Master than a help. Perhaps before this CoB thing it made alot more sense... but with CoB I rarely get hit in the first place, and all those specials I'm running in between are devastating with armor on. Now with a full set of buffs though.... that's totally not true, I'd opt for the armor if buffs were involved

VK's

Gotta be a pretty special situation to use these. I almost always use them in pvp. as the quicker the kill the better for me. And it's unlikely I couldn't incap a player before I did serious ham damage to myself. Unless I know I'm going to have to take on a few others immediately after, then I always vk for pvp.

In pve, I rarely if ever use them. The only times I really bother is when I know I got a medic behind me with a healthy supply of stim b's.

Had this particular thing going on one night killing these AR2 seething bol's. I was allowed to do nothing the entire fight but spam UH3 with vk's, and behind me was a medic just running stims into me as fast as she could. I was also on muon too, so my mind was doing good for all of this

Like many of you though once you hit power4, leave those vk's in a dark corner of yourpack. Rest assured you won't need alot ofvk's in yourcareer

I use vibroknucklers. HAM cost = zero. Damage output in PVP/PVE = doubled.

as I moved towards master I went from wearing high% ubese and using VKs to using neither pretty much.

I always am spamming specials. If I'm up against something hard...I might put on the armor and VKs and autoattack but honestly I almost never do this anymore. Base kills are definitely an equip the VKs and autoattack while you take a break (why so many hit points on bases I don't know). Its nice for a few minute break though.

if I'm buffed the rules change...I do a LOT more damage with VKs and specials...but need buffs to be spamming them constantly.

I got master brawler recently and need to fully fiddle with it to know how it impacts things. A word of warning though is that Berserk2 last forever...and if you are Berserk you can't do any specials which can be a disadvantage.
