Thread: Proof! The End Is Near

My main question, though, is this:

Are lower powered weapons that bad a deal? Especially if it's global? What if in the combat revamp this is just par for the course? If everything is globally lowered in terms of actual damage, is it really a nerf? Or is it, as they are trying to do, a balance?

The pattern is that things are being toned down so there is more of a range. Creatures were toned down (thus CH's cried "nerf!"). FWG5s were fixed (everyone using pistols called "Nerf!"). People complain that certain things are too easy and are soloable. The trend in this combat revamp is that things aren't going to be so easy, so that stuff that is supposed to be hard is HARD (but not impossible), whereas stuff that is merely supposed to be difficult is actually difficult. Some indications of this trend which we've seen in the TC (past and present):

Non randomized, nonuber doctor buffs (TC)

New HAM system that changes how often you can spam specials (previous TC)

Weapon crafting damage downgrade (TC)

Downgrade in lower and mid-level creature armor and resists (done)

Upgrade in higher-level creature resists and power (partially done - see Krayt)

Defense stacking cap (TC)

A further indication of this trend could be some the following:

Armor effectiveness crafting downgrade (no more 70% ubese, 80% composite, etc)

Reduction of high-end skill/stat modifying loot drops (frequency, mod level or number of mods)

Combat Medic poison effectiveness/crafting downgrade

Doctor/Medic stimpack effectivness/crafting downgrade

When it's all done, hopefully this will all make sense. As they keep saying, right now it's hard to see the end goal. Perhaps if they would provide better indications of what they're specifically trying for, people would understand that the middle of the revamp would have highs and lows (highs = we can be uber at this one thing, lows= currently-appear-as-nerfs).

We do need the high end armor for PvP, or everyone will get killed by everything in one hit. But in PvP it is rediculous, becouse no one can do damage to anyone, of any great value unless, you are "cheesed-out".

Now, that everyone has 80% defense armor, and is running around doctor buffed, I think it is time to at least concider the removal of the -75% damage in PvP, or at least reduce it. I know, this will make one shots-if some one is unarmored alot more common. But as is, if you can't one shot a person, you are dead anyway. Becouse the people who could one shot you before, are still going to beat you. Since they obviously do so much damage. Just a thought.

My point was that a lot of this stuff might go away in the combat changes they are working on. TKs, Riflemen, Combat Medics, Doc Buffs, Swordmen, Commandos...etc...might be high-powered now, who knows waht the combat pass will do to them. Whining about their power now is stupid, just as whining about relative weapon changes and relative this-and-that's power is useless. They have been telling us for MONTHS that some stuff will unbalance during the combat changes.

So it's stupid to whine about anything now. Just work on your own professions.

I forgot to add, another sign of this trend:

Bleed stacking, gone (done).

All the whining about "balance" right now is stupid, since we were warned MONTHS ago that things would be out-of-balance during the combat pass.

Yes, things and and have always been unbalanced. I was just thought that the idea of not having the -75% PvP was worth kicking around.

I wasn't attacking you.

And all we can do is discuss.

If there is no point in discussing anthing, becouse they said to wait, then i don't even understand why you would be IN the forum.

so anyway, i was just putting in my 2 cents... and your post had some stuff i wanted to work with.

have fun

Folks your meant to fight jedis, that is fine. I hope you liked seeing yourself and only yourself, with no variety whatsoever. Because They are nerfing everyone BUT you, raising your associated dps of 1400 comparable to swordsmans at best 800, to something much much comparatively higher, perhaps 1700 like a medium power jedi? Lol, dont be blnid.

One problem with this that concerns TKA, is it is already argued that TKA does too much damage. If this does happen, it will effectivly 'nerf' every weapon in the game. Except for TKAs, since they are the only ones who get Damage bonuses in their proffesion. If the other proffesiosn had damage bonuses too, then this would be a different story.
So even though doing this to all the weapons would hurt TKA a little, untill people got their hands on the higher end weapons, TKAs would become the center of attention.....again.

Non randomized, nonuber doctor buffs (TC)

Preach on

New HAM system that changes how often you can spam specials (previous TC)

Something needs to be done.

Weapon crafting damage downgrade (TC)

NOOOOO!!!!!.....everyone gets hurt but TKAs here.
