Thread: Some data regarding Unarmed Toughness

hmmm, I read on the commando forum that with 16 meters the commando is seen as melee. I wonder if that equates to a damage reduction.
All of the commando's weapons (minus the launcher pistol) are ranged melee weapons (go figure), so we deal melee damage and not ranged damage when we fire our flamethrowers, ect.
In regards to unarmed toughness and understanding that you get a 25% reduction if your UT is 25 and you're unarmed, does that "unarmed" mean wearing VKs since the change where TKs only had certification for VKs?
Example: I wear my VKs and I have an unarmed toughness of 10 and am taking on a melee mob; do I get a 10% reduction in damage from said mob?
Xytroncore,
Yeah, this is an example of how screwed up the combat system is.
If you're a Commando, and I'm a Teras Kasi/Rifleman combo:
If I am holding my rifle, you'll hit me from 65m away, and get a 2.5x damage multiplier due to rifleman vulnerability against melee. If I switch to my VK, I'll get a damage REDUCTION from the same situation.
I thought it was stupid that defensive bonuses do not stack between professions. It should be a 'toughness' bonus, not an 'unarmed toughness' bonus, and apply no matter what weapon I'm holding.
One thing I want to clairify about my statement:
OFFENSIVE bonuses cross over between professions, but not defensive ones. An example:
I'm a commando, and at novice level get a cert for the Launcher Pistol. This pistol does heavy weapon experience, but BENEFITS from all the pistol OFFENSIVE bonuses you receive from Pistoleer, such as speed and accuracy. HOWEVER, my defense suffers, because they do not carry over from anywhere. How dumb is that?
