Well, it's not ruined, just unbalanced at the moment. We do more damage unarmed than with our chosen weapons, the knucklers, a serious disbalance in my opinion. And it looks to me like in some ways the CU did its job TOO well...explain that strange statement: instead of having it where professions were unique, and could be awesome all by themselves, they're interdependent to the point where a good deal of each prof's identity is lost. I use TKM specials with a powerhammer now, for instance, a Rifleman/Carabineer is using carbine specials with a heavy rifle...heck, I pistol-whipped somebody on Test before I ditched Commando with a flamethrower. To an extent all this is wonderful, but not having more 'iconic' moves makes professions like TK seem...ordinary. TK, or Rifleman, or Swordsman, or whatever, I should add. Heck, somebody with no mastery of any kind could likely use a combination of TK, Swords, Fencer, and Smuggler (can't add Pikeman in there 'cause you'd have to be a Master Brawler then), and not get any of the highest-rated weapons, but likely do extremely well.

Another reason I think the CU should be followed up with an all-professions revamp. We've levelled the playing field, now let's raise it...give everybody a reason to go for Mastery again besides just a badge.

Yes, at the current rate of false promises this should take about another two years. Just in time for SWG3.

I was a tkm and chm in August 03, I had never dropped either profession.

I bought a years sub and forgot to change my account settings to not auto renew... last year, my mistake.

I still have fond memories of my time in the game... the game that it has I meant actually.

They are looking to rekindle the interest in the game by changing it into a SOE Eg groupings till you puke game, They are expecting the new movie to save thier asses.....

I got a feeling that's the way they thinking SOE eq1 eg2 grouping ?

Ok, eq2 forced after say 20th but those depend on the force ... or the Jedi force appeal but the force that has served them so well for so long ...

I hate grouping also.

If they told me two 2 years ago they were planning to make thge game this way. Well I guess they were better to not do that , since that's two year of subscriptions that they would have lost.

no profession ((Except BH)) can do well just on its own, and that is why you have to get a template. I have kept TK since launch and sought after it before hand and continue to keep it. I do not see the problem here, TK has decent moves offensively which help even more when you have a back up profession. The ability to tank without armor is just plain golden, look nice while you smack some creatures/people around. NTM center of being and armor break which can be life savers at times. Let's face it, TK was just too powerful way back then and has been toned down. We are still promised old or new animations if we hang on to the professions. I mean, with my unfinished template, at only lvl60 I almost beat a full templated BH lvl80 and have gone against a few jedi who would have probably fallen if I had a full template.

The profession is no longer a stand alone profession, but it is easily the best supporting profession in SWG =D

i was TKM before and after the CU, and I still like the profession quite a bit. As is mentioned above, I like:

- Solo: I'm lvl57, and I can woop lvl55s easily enough (losing about 1/3 of my health)... But keep in mind, I haven't had a chance to get BE clothing for power-ups, and I rarely use anything else than my Brandy (so food, drinks, buffs, etc... would more than likely help tons). I also haven't been using the CoB too much, but from what I've read, its a lifesaver. I soloed lvl57s as well, and although its a much tougher fight, I usually come out on top. Now from what I understand, soloing isn't about taking on 4 creatures of your own lvl anymore, its about standing toe-to-toe with pretty much anything of your lvl and finishing the fight on your feet, but I could be wrong.

- Groups: I've been an asset to every "organized" group that I've joined. It all depends on how smart the group is, and if they allow each profession to do what they're intended to do (I hate playing with riflemen who run past the melee tanks, close in to a 20m range... instead of leading the targets to the tanks and sniping from a grassy knoll). In a solid group of 4-8 people, I've been getting as much xp as before and just as fast. It really all depends on who you're playing with. Smart groups are successful groups.

I'm really interested in melding my TKM with a medical profession, but I have a question:

Is TKM better suited for a Doc or a ComMedic?? Which one compliments TKM better?

Any help would be great! Thanks.

If you have another defense profession added to TK you can be a very strong toon even at lvl50 or 60 with only a few medic skills. My guess is CM since it can very well aid in damage for the long run. You take hits, can heal and also nit pick at your opponents life by bits with added dots. I think TKM/CM will be a nice combo for you =)

Well I'm lvl 75 and have a hard time with things, I have fencer but had to give up four boxes because all of a sudden i had negative points cuz tka has to have sword in brawler, for some dum reason or another. I also have CH, Im trying to decided if i want to respec to put back in fencer and get rid of CH, but have no clue what to do. I'm just not sure about how to do the respec thing, maybe i should go master fencer and some TK.....if fencer now does more dmg.

Notto me it isn't. I am pretty much useing the same templet as I was before the cu. TKM, Ranger 4/3/2/2 and Medic 0/0/3/0. I also have a couple fs boxes filled, so I am gonna have to adjust as I progress. I kinda wanna get Medic up to 0/0/4/0, so I can stay alive on my Ranger solo forrays. I am not gonna give up on my two favorite professions TKM and Ranger, I will never be able to Master Ranger again, but maybe they will give us some more skill points one day.......not.....Just relearn what you have learned, I think I got it figured out, with my style of play. Don't give up, I am takeing missions solo up to 3 lvl's above me (gonna try 4 tonight) and makeing good xp (not counting 2x week), but am only makeing half the money I did before (from the missions I can take). In group play it is just plain fun to be the Tank they never seem to hit (make MasterBruce Leeproud), I like it.

IMO, master TK is going to be taken up by the other 3 elite melees just for the inate armor

from what it looks like, inate armor seems to work with the other classes as well.

So in a way, there's no sense in going unarmed if your a TKM+ other mastermelee prof if they can out dps the unarmed damage

I say TKM is more of a support profession. I like TKM for natural defence, meditate, and power boostthen having a offence profession for combat. Also having a powerful blaster fist helps (damage around 300-550. trust me I made one like it).
