Personally I'm working throught the tripple master right now,
If smuggler isnt something you want as a profession, then try this template.
TKM/ Master Commando/ smuggler 0010 with 7 points left.
That one block in smuggler will give you feign death which is a life saver in PVE.
Just my two cents though

I have been thinking about TKM-centric templates, and I was wondering why this sort of thing doesn't seem popular:
TKM
Master PIstoleer
Smuggler 0040 (feign death and pistol specials)
which leaves 46 points, assuming my math is correct. I know this is sorta like the tri-master, but the skill points are directed more towards combat. 3/4 of the smuggler tree won't help you in a fight, so if you're looking for a primarily combat character, wouldn't it make sense to skip on most of smuggler and use the points in something else? You could put those in fencer for a defense stacker or get master brawler. Or you could get enough medic to use stim Cs and grab some exploration for the terrain negotiation if you wanted. There's lots of odd ways you could spend those 46 points that would be useful in combat, if that's what you really want.
I guess I'm just curious why I see so many people who seem to want combat capability spend SPs mastering smuggler. Not that I have anything against it, as I have a master commando/master smuggler on one character, I just wonder why I don't see more talk of just getting the pistol/feign death line in smuggler and skipping the other 3 trees for more combat-related skills.

Unarmed Lunge 1 helps with that a lot, too... when they are down far enough to run, you can usually take them out with 1 hit from this at a range of up to 17m.

Also if you notice, some creatures like to get scared and run from you when you are beating the snot out of them, so any ranged profession helps you out with that.
