OK, the originator of the thread is saying he would like some sort of movement or focus techniques to subsistute for meditation healing. Someone mentioned "kata". OK, the only issue with this is, if "kata" has been discussed in this context, is that "kata" in martial arts is meant to increase focus, discipline, and strenght of technique. It is not meant to be substituted for strong inner focus, where one empties their mind and becomes completely, without distraction, in tune with their surroundings. This is where meditation comes in. It is meant for one to be at rest, empty their conscious and subconscious, and allow their minds to focus their inner strength and heal oneself(if you believe the philosophies of manymetaphysical faiths).
I have no issues with kata being incorporated into TK, but in the correct context.

Google "thai chi" and you'll find it as a typo on a bunch of "tai chi" sites.

I like the stillness of Meditation. It's a nice balance to the frentic action of combat. Plus, it looks badass, sitting there unmoving whilst there's chaos going on around you.

Baguazhang
T'sing I
T'ai Chi Ch'uan
all examples of powerful moving meditation.
if you are not familiar with the first two, Jet Li (5 time all martail arts champion of China) does an AMAZING job of demonstrating them in the so-so film The One. the good Jet practices Baguazhang and the bad T'sing I.
at any rate, there is a simple solution to this argument. the moves could very well be OPTIONAL.
personally i LIKE the kneeling animation, but would have no problem with the addition of optional movements to the meditative line.

Interesting thought. Multiple types of meditation? What would be the differences? If you had a dancing meditation (Native American style, for example) what benefit would this have outside the normal meditate? What about a music meditate (beating a drum, for example)?
My question would be: What would the benefit of the new meditation states be? If it's just animation, I would think there are better places to spend developer hours. If it's a new and beneficial type of meditation with different results, then that could be a really cool entry into the system.

I agree with some of what you said, but your inability to spell the martial arts to which you refer does not lend a great deal of credence to your arguments.

i can see why everyone else hates teras kasi players. your reply is both unimaginative and unoriginal. Meditation is not just being still and not moving. You obviously only think of meditation as that...so I will illistrate. Thi Chi is a meditative art form that both centers the mind and body as one, many martial arts have kata movements that allow channell and focus to be achived. In akido you envision movements of continuous spiral motion originating from your midsection spiraling both upwards like a coil and downwards...fluid motions create power. So to the one star...eat a knuckler and to the bland forget it this game is not worth it any more...i'm done with defending this prof...think about it..knife to a gunfight...sure if we get close we will whip their asses, but honestly...guns win. Done with it...i hope it is nerfed and combat ballance breaks the whole thing down...done with it.

guess it was too much to think that there was inteligent conversation to be made on this forum
retired as of now...phuck it...any other questions can be directed to that brick wall over there----->

thought about this again and i have to say i like the kneeling animation, but i HATE HATE HATE the:
you sit down
*start to sit*
you begin to meditate
*studder step into kneeling*
it makes even a Teras Kasi Master look as though s/he cannot make up thier mind...
i'll sit...no, no i will meditate...well...yes, yes okay i will meditate.
HATE that

Tai Chi is more correctly known as Tai Chi Chuan.
Thai Chi is a combination art consisting of Tai Chi and various forms of karate.

I don't see why not? Why is meditation simply a form of healing or boosting your base stats?
Why can't teras kasi use meditation to boost accuracy, speed or damage in varying degrees.
Perhaps their ability to take damage or avoid it outright.
I don't see the harm in it and it would add some more flavor.
