i think ingorning can be hard espacialty in this forum , ever since i stsrted playing in Novenber ive seen people coming to this forum and slating TKM , all the time i feel we as a forum community try to keep this page with good comments and help to new TK but it can be very hard to ingorn some people that come with very wrong and stupid statements , we try and post what realy happens are how we are , but inevitably it leads to a Flame war , but thsis does happen on alll forums only ones ive not seen this happen is the commando /and BH as they are very broken and try to improve there profession as best they can .

i feel reading the TK forum is very helpful to any TK cause you are alway learning your profession , and we tend to be alot mmore realaxed , yes we do have Nerf cryer probably more then any profession but we all know the fact more then anyone else

Keep in mind too that people who have not even signed up for the game may look at the boards to get an idea of what this game is like...I know I for one did before I ever played it.

I understand the need to ignore complainers and trolls but remember too that there is a need to put them in line. I for one, almost never played the game because of the many people in the boards saying how much Jedi have ruined the game, isn't fun, etc etc.. (Just as the most obvious example...not to keep off subject) yet at the same time the things they complain about were not half as bad as I predicted...

To summarize, keep people informed of the truth rather than the lies they spread

BTW, this is one of the most optomistic boards I've seen in all the SWG boards

Ryutek I think using examples isn't the way to go. You give them more attention this way and they'll keep doing it.

Frankly I don't think this message will work on everyone because people will do what they want, when they want. Only those who see the sensibility in this will heed the message. Those who could care less will do the opposite of what you suggest.

I have been a TKM for a long time now and used this board quite frequently back in the day. Then it seemed to degrade into little more than mud-slinging (pointless), so I haven't visited much.

I applaud your efforts to keep troll-feeding to a minimum. I'll endeavor to check back more frequently.

TKA is just 'the best' balanced profession to start off with. I think other classes are a bit jealous, and it's hard not to see reasons why.

TKA - the meditate line alone allows meditate to buff up stats (certainly no big deal compared to Doc buffs, but it's at NO cost and an extra 400-500 in every stat for those folks used to shifting mind to max. 400-500 for 10 mins, and repeatable, is nothing to laugh at).

Meditate line allowsa meditate to clean off all wounds, bleeds, poisons and disease. I mean... wow Yes, you need to be outside combat, but this is a very useful power. It means you only need cantinas to heal BF.

Damage output from a TKA- the VK is Light AP, and stacks on strong Melee damage mods. A VK is one of the absolutely cheapest weapons to make, yet does competitive damage with all other light AP weapons.

TKA hasa KD/Dizzy move.

TKA has a high melee ranged defence

TKA has a decent Headhit.

TKA can actually get away with the 'choice' of wearing armor, and be almost as tough as a non-combatant wearing armor. When wearing 85% armor, with the mitigation and high toughness- TKA alone makes you pretty darn tough.

TKA are best equipped for fighting Jedi due to - KD/Dizzy, Headhit and high toughness.

(take Master Brawler for Lunge 2, Warcry and Intimidate- and then you have some serious defensive power)

And the point cost for this profession is very low. Just one line in brawler.

TKA is to melee what Rifleman is to Ranged - 'top of it's class'. The only thing it lacks is access to DOT weapons, and usuallyt that's made up in taking other classes.

I think the other professions have a valid comment saying they wish to be as useful and capable as TKA. My mainis a stacked TKA/Fencer/Pikeman (I have analt who is my DOC/CM crafter). But I can solo most high end mobs all day long, rarely require healing, and can meditate off all states and wounds. I think that's'wrong' to some degree. The mid range to entry high end game is 'too easy' for me as a result. It's not 'just TKA', it's that TKA can provide a number of 'wow' skills that layer so very well on other professions. I have tanked 3 canyon krayts at once, with /taunt , /intimidate and 85% or better armor, and never even needed a heal.

That being said, at the DeathWatch Bunker - I always call on a couple TKA/Fencers to tank, because it would be MUCH more difficult without them. I'd hate to see any 'nerfs' to this class, since we need some profession that does tanking, and the light AP VK's mean TKA need more then just TKA to deal with med to heavy armor mobs. I used to do it with Pikeman and DOT weapons myself. I think they 'key issue' is the ability to uber stack from various templates, leading to the 'melee gods' folks joke about. Mind fire usually puts them in their place though *shrug*. I know that and poisons were what I mainly feared in PvP.

Tka should still have there meditive powers who cares about the doctors they make to muhc any way and they rip you of most of the time. so you want to give the doctors more power.

Hi,

I beg to differ. I think you are doing quite well in board. No one here seem to prolong discussions that has no value. Not many seems to simply be rude to newbies. I know in some boards, members love "DIS"ing newbie questions. There isn't much of that.

There are lots of NERF-this and NERF-that. I am not happy with that, but lets face it. TKA is probably one of the very few professions that works (and were working since the very beginning). I can understand how others might resent that. If I have never tried many other profs (like most of us have done), I can see myself posting NERF threads. I think we can only educate them as best as we can. We don't need to reciprocate resentment back to them. Besides, once they tried out and had some fun I am pretty sure they won't NERF-post again.

Q

P.S. At the very very first, I was a Novice BH; wanted to be one before even released. I remember getting KDed all the time so I posted couple NERF-post also. But those made me (myself!) feel terrible. Once I tried many different profs (TKA included!) I realized there is no value in NERF-posting. (NERF-posting and bug-reporting are different thing!)

Hi,

Sorry to repeat this again, but I do it again for the sake for those new here.

Posting NERF-thread is a self-defeating process. By doing so, you yourself feel terrible.

" ---- does so much damage compared to me. So nerf ---- "

You realize that asking the rest of the world to change for you. You are not asking for the improvement of your prof, but down-grading others. This is not very helpful in the point of view of the developers because it lacks the clear description of the problems. For developers, it is most useful if you can pin-point the problems. Anyways, considering the busy nature of their work, the developers will pay less attention to NERF-posts.

The dev like data. We all like data. Not "I feel like" or "I think". If you feel you need changes, you should post data. I think it's the fastest way of getting noticed and stuff.
