When people talk of "robes", I assume they are thinking along the lines of a Gi(martial art suit) or the sort of clothing worn by Buddhist monks; flowing garments which provide freedom of movement. That suits us perfectly, in my opinion, as TKA is so clearly based on Asian martial arts.
I just hope that they are craftable, have a good colour palatte and are not required to be an effective TKM. They also bloody well better have versions for the alien races, or my Ithorian Sage will be pissed
Would you remind the devs that us aliens would like a version of any TKA robes please Mankind?

Thats the thing, its not.
Giving TKA some quest based item for immersion is one thing.
But its like giving Jedi a quest for a blaster, they generally dont use them, its not something associated with them. Neither are Robes, or Gis.
TK artists are not the buddhist monk wearing flowing garments. They are the soldiers, the bounty hunters, the assassins, who learn to fight, to fight well. It is more than JUST a fighting style, there is a bit of mysticism and inner strength in it. And it is, atleast according to Phow Ji, and the trainer in the game (
Give them something, yes. Maybe some type of decorative knuckler, equal in stats to either the razor or VK, but looks different. But dont give them an outfit that pigeon holes them, and presents a stereo type of them being something they arent. Teras Kasi Artists arent monks, dont dress them up like one.

Robes are NOT what we need. We are not asian. We are not monks. We are in Star Wars.

I swear if I have to wear a robe Im going to drop TK. You say you are a muppit now? Think about when every single TK is wearing the same thing. That is going to be horrible, almost as bad as seeing everybody wearing comp armor.

Exactly. A shash would do, or I still say that BEs should make tissues that add slightly to the TK mods. Those tissues can be put in any clothing.

Robes or not... I just wanna be able to survive in combat to a reasonable degree. We don't get armour, that much we know. So IMHO we should still be able to have some skills that keep us alive. If it comes from a robe, a hat, or our freakin sneakers I don't care.
So far, btw, I'm liking CU. After doing the newbie grind (mainly solo btw) to Brawler 3,0,3,0 Marksman 0,2,3,2 I can say this much from experience now.
It reminds me of what it was like playing SWG shortly after launch. There's a "getting used to it" stage in regards to the things that have changed. The grind to TK is about on par with what it used to be as well. Yes, getting that last Unarmed box and TK novice box still sucks. But you won't be seeing any 18 hour TKMs anymore either.
The new weapons are very interesting, since I'm not cert'ed I'll hold opinion on those for now. Very cool looking though. So far, in the groups I've been in, you can actually see prof's taking on their roles. Melee up front tanking, ranged hanging 30-45 meters back popping off rounds.
The new conning system also takes a little getting used to. With all the "fire and brimstone" that I'm seeing in the forums I find it hard to believe we're all in the same CU. Needless to say, anyone who's completely balking at the CU probably hasn't mastered a single prof yet (not many people have)
So, robes.... could care less. I've been wearing my own tailor made outfit with no armour for months now (in preparation for the no armour gig). If they give us smoe cool clothes that we get on a quest.. that would be fun. If they give us some robes with stats/defenses... meh.. too Jedi for me but whatever.
So there you have it. So far my opinion of the CU is this... took about an hour to get used to, from there out same as it ever was with things shuffled around and/or renamed. Oh yeah, groovey new 60's psychodelic icons. We still have about 32 days of testing to go, lets see how it ends up. No complaints or major praises so far from this "Alpha" tester... LMAO!
