if this article is claiming that commando needs nerfing then i give it absolutely no respect... anyone who has played the game for a month knows that commando is one of the weakest professions there are

LOL. They denied Jedi being available in the beginning. And of course not. BH'ers were the Jedi killers, TK was just the most popular compliment profession.

Seriously though...sorry to jump in here (I'm a M.Commando/TKM btw)...Don't take that article to seriously...It's by STRONG belief that GamePro heard the rep (if they did talk to one) incorrectly...There are lots of overall combat changes going into effect that will change a lot of things including damage levels...Some professions are going up while other's are going down...The overall damage formula is changing as well which could (depending on what the formula is) seem like a NERF to everyone...There are lots of changes going in that "balance" things and I don't believe GamePro had all the details...They are a great example of why we Correspondents are not allowed at this point to spill the beans...see what happens when a group has only partial details...


On a side note I just wanted to state something and this probably doesn't surprise most of you...Ryutek has been doing a great job representing you all over in the Correspondent forum...for being new to the position, he's really jumped in with both feet and done quite an impressive job...you are being very well represented regarding the Revamp (and this comes from someone who had a hard time deciding between TKA and Commando when I first started...so I became them both)...

Hmmm....and here I was thinking of trying out Commando after I master TKA.


Might what to rethink that, me thinks.....

Haha, nerfing Commando because it's a powerful profession? I hardly call the 10 second delay powerful

Well, I would definitely say that we need to hold off any conclusions until we know for certain what the combat balance will entail. That being said, I'm not real certain about the article if they claim Commandos are strong...


Realistically, I'm willing to bet every profession is going to feel like it is "nerfed" in some way. I have fears that we will be hit hard by it as well due to how effective we are at this point in time. Rest assured, however, that it will not happen without a fight at the very least, and even then only if it truly is for the good of the game.


Now, looks like it is time for me to go ask the developers what exactly they mean by this if it does have any truth behind it, and if so why the Community was not informed directly.

I've fought TKM as a Jedi, and I've fought Jedi as a TKM. I've experienced it from both sides... with and without the broken combo hits.


Master LightsaberJedido 150 DPS to me with adecent 4th GenerationPolearm Lightsaber. TKM's are supposed to be extremely tough, but they are far from invulnerable to a Jedi, especially one with MLS. An experienced Jedi can easily handle a defensive stacking TKM, like my story below...


When I was testing my Jedi on TC2, I was able to do 500 DPS to players with no toughness in PVP with Saber Polearm Dervish 2, not to mention layStun, Dizzy, and Blind on them almost immediately with the very first attack. I had a LS with all really high crystals and pearls specifically for PVP, calculate in the 57% TKA melee toughness, and that's still 215 DPS.


Uh, wow, right?


Here's the story...


ATKM tried to come after me with BH at his side. I assumethe BHgot a mission on me, and grouped up with the TKM to try to kill me. He was a defensive stacker at that, because it took me about 20 tries to actually knock him down.He tried all the possible TKA states including Stun, Dizzy, Blind, and Intimidate, which at one time all of these states were applied to me. The BH was also at a distance trying to spam Confusion Shot and Fire Knockdown on me. I immediately eliminated him and cured my states. Just a BH,easy enough...


...then it was time forthe TKM. He was really experienced, he kept me intimidated as much as possible, nearly the whole time, withstun, dizzy, and blind.However, I was finally able to get him knocked down, stun, dizzy, and blinded him, clear my states and wipe him out in just a matter of seconds from Dervish 2.


This was after the defense nerf, so I was taking quite a bit of damage, about 200 points of damage per hit myself. I no longer had force armor anymore, so my additional 69% protection from force armor could no longer be used. I was a Dark Jedi Oppressor, which isRank 7 in the FRS.

lol could have been said before but i never read All of the messages so im saying it now lol

1) if they nerf Tk like that ALOT of ppl will proberlly leave game or something

n also some of the books actually state that a TK artist was hired by the empire dureing the time of the purge so really thosue jedi that r saying that most of them r dieing from TK good lol glad to see some1 finally doing their job right

If that statement is true then it would state that the developers have no intention of bringing other melee combatants up to the level we are as TKs. It's basically the same method the developers followed for a long time.

Don't want to make the others better so let's kick the one in the group that works.

That TK motto will come back quick: TK best at tanking the nerf bat.

I couldn't believe what I was reading. I surely don't want to jump the gun, or make any brash assumptions. Nor do I want to throw the board into a frenzy. I just want everyone to know the "consequences" or a combat rebalance. I also find it unsettling that developers seem to tell everyone else what they actually plan to do, except the players, but that is nothign new. How they plan to nerf Commando even more is amazing to me.


Well at least Commando can pretty much not get any worse. What next? The breaking of Fan Shot and Pistol Melee Defence to break every single Pistoleer special (exclude BH and Smuggler line) broken? Yeah how about that.


Form your own opinions, I just wanted to distribute the information to the Teras Kasi forums first.

I agree with the Jedi.


It is not fair that a TKA can do that, it should be done by Bounty Hunters....


Stop whinning about be beating, cause you are jedi doesn't say you can't die
