PwyllTwiceborn, you STILL haven't said what class you play.
he wont either, because he knows nothing about nothing.he is just here from the general forum or the bounty hunter forum.i dont know about anyone else but the NPC soldiers i fight get up.the longest i have seen one down that i didnt kill in 20seconds after he landed.was about 30-40 seconds.
its ok for the ranged guys to dizzy you from 64m and let you walk slowly then hit you with supression fire which when your dizzy knocks you on your butt.then they will hit you with crippling strike over and over.now if you are stupid enough to let us get close enough to you to knock you down and dizzy you.welcome to the land of pain.
you ranged guys tell us TKA not to bring a knife to a gun fight.i say to you nitwits dont bring your gun into a melee fight and expect to win.you cant have best of both worlds.so kiss my blue rodian rear end.
I have actually seen mission npc getting up after KD and dizzing em, and i have also seen other npc staying down after dizzy fades.... i guess they should fix the AI, but not nerf KD/dizzy it is our only way to do smothing in pvp... unless u ranged guys wish to stay still while pvping ![]()
I have to say ya somthings probley messed up with this but it works for carbineers, BH's and melee every class with KD/dizzy so what do you want us to do not use KD/DIzzy, our best attack btw.
Furthermore its still very rare that they never get up on average it is KD/Dizzy from 10-30 secs, if you KD/dizzy them twice however i find they do tend to stay down for awhile, i don't know about 7 hours i finish them off pretty quickly but the point is its no more an exploit them DOT and run tactics and we don't have dots.
Ask to a CSR or a Tech Support if that an exploit or not.
From a player point of view I see nothing wrong to knockdown/dizzy an NPC and move away to KD/dizzy another and so on even if you just let them on their back.
Without an "official" word from SOE : This is NOT an exploit.
I was trucking across Dantooine last night and ran across an ST taking a nap. He wasn't dizzied and yet he was flatly laying down. There was nothing on the radar except this lone ST so I am assumiong that the buddies he spawned with were dispatched. His health HAM was nearly shot so I finished him for the faction. The problem is not one of KD/Dizzy, it is the AI's refusal to stand up in some cases. I've UKD2'd Kunga's and FS types before only to have them pop back up as soon as the dizzy dropped.
A fix should be applied to the AI, not to KD/Dizzy.
Well, just to put in my two cents. Personaly I think that almost every class that is popular had there own little attack/combo that people whine about... BH has eye shot, Commando has flame thrower, and TKA have KD/dizzy... If you think that using KD/dizzy is an exploit then what about eye shot and flame thrower.
I can understand saying that in PvE its an exploit (or i like to call it a bug) that when you KD/dizzy an NPC its permaKD'ed, but when it comes to PvP i think its perfectly fine to use KD/dizzy. If i were to fight a BH or commando you better beleive that there going to spam what ever attack/macro works the fastest for them, so i think that its only fair we use this skill... and as far as PvE is concerned, FIX THE BUG... this does not deserve a nerf becasue people are complaining that this is an exploit.
Well I must admit that it's not perhaps working as it should cause npc's won't get up after dizzy wears off. Been hunting poor Kungan warriors on dantooine as they have low kinetic resists and dizzy+kd makes it possible. Least for me it's a challenge to stay alive against 2 or more these fellas before all are down and ready for pounding, they make bleeds 800+ and hit quite hard through 68% ubese and ua toughness... It feels sort of reward when you can kd and dizzy them down
I dont like to say it but it should be fixed that they would get up after dizzy wears off even tho I like it a LOT.
I do not believe it to be an exploit, and I have a bit of trouble understanding how people could honestly label it that way. We have a single skill that combines KD and Dizz (KD2). They are clearly meant to be used together to accomplish the exact purpose of knocking an enemy down and preventing them from standing up again. The Devs put a knockdown skill with a posture chage prevention skill. It is highly unlikely that they did not intend it to work this way.
Furthermore,in the last patch, the devs stated that they were adjusting dizzy so that targets would stay down if kd'd with dizzy, so it's clearly not unintended.
Now, whether or not dizzy wound up being too powerful is a different issue. Dizzy may or may not be adjusted to have a lower chance of knocking you over when you change posture. But it's certainly not an exploit.
I do not think this is an Exploit... Some NPC's dont get up with Dizzy/KD on but... Count all the times they stand up when you dizzy them 5times and kd them once they fall down and u keep dizzy them and they still get up? why would this be an exploit it hurts you more then helps you.
Hi, can you people not read? I merely pointed out that a NPC will sometimes not et up after a VERY long time. Not once did I mention any nerfes, not once did I mention this for PvP. Yet, everyone here is defending this as some common practice for PvE and in terms of a PvP aspect.
If a mob gets KD/Dizzy on them, no matter what class does it, they will stay down usually for a VERY long time. There was a guy last week who posted a fact that he had something KD'd for 5 days. If you can go around and do this to say 20 mobs protecting a faction base then come back later with your friends to take the base over, is this not an exploit? It's a bugged AI that allows people to be able to do this because the bases defences have been made useless. Not 20 at once, but you can systematically go around and get all the NPCs to sit on their backs forever.
You people need to realize that if this can be done, the buggy AI won't allow a NPC to stand back up and people who know this as fact, then it's an exploit. Just because it's in the game and anyone can go do this to an opposing faction base makes it an exploit.
I AM NOT CALLING FOR A NERF HERE, I AM MERELY POINTING OUT THAT PEOPLE WHO USE THIS TACTIC KNOWINGLY ARE DOING IT AS AN EXPLOIT TO BUGGY AI CODE.
Have a good day.
BUG: A glitch in the code; something not working as designed. Some bugs help the players, some hinder them.
EXPLOIT: An oversight in the game design; something working as designed, but the design is flawed. Usually exploits help players... the ones that hinder them are typically lumped into the "Bug" classification.
CHEAT: An action that a player takes to purposefully circumvent the established system. Cheats are, by nature, beneficial to the players that use them.
If KD+Diz isn't working as designed, then it's a bug and the devs will fix it.
If KD+Diz is working as designed and it's overly-useful to the players, then it's an exploit and the devs will tweak it.
If KD+Diz is perma-KDing mobs because someoneis hackingthe game, then it's a cheat and SOE will likely ban the account.
If KD+Diz is working as designed and the devs are comfortable with how effective it is, then it won't be touched.
Personally, I use KD+Warcry because I've never, ever had a Dizzy mob stay down. I don't know if I'm unintentionally spamming two KD's (doubtful) and the second one is -- per the known bug -- knocking them back up again.
