Sure, I would love to just 'macro' it - but what's the challenge in that?

High action/mind-cost for CoB? Nahhh
A higher (i.e. 60 secs) cooldown timer for CoB? Nahhh
Where is the difference in getting hit while moving and while standing? Sry, I dont get it...
Make it only work whit a melee weapon equip as soon you change to Range it stops.
(to stop Range to dabble in to CoB and making macros that change wepon and fire CoB)
And juts to be sure what I call large scale PvP (not duel – not PvE)

Yes, I have also had powerboost fail under these conditions. I am quite sure it is latency... powerboost doesn't "realize" you are meditating. That is, your client thinks you are meditating but the server hasn't updated yet (or vice versa perhaps).
CLEARLY these are issues. For the people saying "COB works" yes, when it sticks, it works, you can over lap it, fine fine.
BUT, you cannot use it while moving, and sometimes the GAME thinks you are moving when YOU think you are standing still. This is not an issue of being "good" or "bad" at the game, "hard" or "easy" game play (intentionally). It is a BUG -- server/client disagreement. They need to fix this ASAP. If they cannot get 95% or better server-client agreement (and in 2 years they NEVER HAVE) then they need to take the "are you moving?" check OUT of COB.

Alright I think some change to CoB is called for. The problem is that it seems to want you to be standing still to turn it on, but lag makes the server think you are still moving, and it fails with a clunk during the warmup bar. So here is my take on this mess:
1. Server-client lag is a fact of life and will not be fixed
2. In pvp, due to server-client lag, you may have to stand still for 10 seconds to get CoB to turn on without clunk-failing
3. That's excessive and cannot be intended
4. It's not only aggravating, but hurts your survivability in pvp where movement is very important
5. It's unfair for server-client lag to deny melee fighters the benefit of their defensive abilities, when they need them
6. There should be some kind of fix for the problem
7. There is a precedent for allowances for server-client lag. For example, a carbineer can burstrun towards a target, and as soon as they reach 50m, they can instantly open fire without getting an "Out of range" message
8. There is no way, in this example, that the server can 'know' that the player is in range, but it trusts the client and allows the action
9. This is an allowance to prevent server-client lag from causing an irritating effect in combat for ranged fighters
10. A similar allowance for melee fighters using CoB would not be unreasonable
11. Melee fighters will want the ability to activate CoB while moving because this is to their advantage in combat
12. Ranged fighters will want CoB to activate only while you are stationary, because this is to their great advantage versus melee fighters
14. The devs need to decide if being stationary during the warmup bar is important to balance the ability, or not
15. If being stationary is not important, then that requirement should be lifted, and the problem of clunk-failing during skill warmup due to server-client lag, is solved
16. If being stationary is important for balance, and required for the ability to activate sucessfully, then the server should trust the client as to whether the player is stationary during the warmup phase, or not
17. Alternately, if that is difficult to program, the server should trust the client as to whether the player is stationary only at the time of skill activation
18. Alternately, the skill should briefly immobilize the playerduring the brief duration of the warmup bar
19. The game knows how to keep you immobile when you are knocked down, therefore incorporating this effect into the ability should not be rocket science
20. Clunk-failing due to server-client lag is NOT acceptable, ever
21. This should be a general alteration to all abilities, across all professions, which require a warmup: Center of Being, Duelist Stance, Power Attack, Aim, Cover, Sniper Shot, etc.
