yea maybe a different powerboost one for HAM and one for the new damage type would probably work

Well multiple damage types are very much needed, when I think about the options such as new VKs or powered gloves I just think that it's so clumbsy. Given how Teras Kasi derives some of it's power from the Force within this seems like a more natural and stylish way of adding new damage types. As for being overpowered I disagree, a TK would have to stop fighting and meditate to change to a seperate damage type while every other profession in the game simply has to equip a different weapon. I'd call that a fair limitation as it still forces the TK to use only one damage type for the duration of a fight.

The concept of seeing FX such as lightning arcs spitting away from where your fist hits the enemy would also be exceptionally cool to witness.

/agree.

With the introduction of new stun layers to composite armor and composite armor with 80+ kinetic resists it is ridiculous to continue to call MTKA's over powered and in need of any kind of nerf. It is also ridiculous to keep us to only kinetic damage. Yes,we are exceptionally dangerous to the unprepared whowander into our range as the Master Rifleman is dangerous to the unprepared whowander intotheir range. We however ONLY do kinetic damage.

This has to change. Call it Powerboost, call it Force Channeling, call it the hoola hoop I don't care. But if they are going to continue to allow ridiculously powerful armors to be designed to specifically resist kinetic damage the devs must give us the ability to either inflict some other type of damage or to "crack" armor with some sort of spectacular although draining attack.

Tal-N that's such an awesome idea. I'd be 100% behind it. It's limited enough using meditative techniques to gain the skill, and yet versatile enough that we won't stand and grind away at someone with 80% kinetic ALL day. Brilliant idea.

If it happens, I don't think VKs should be used with it. We do enough damage without VKs that I think trading off that extra damage for a different damage type seems pretty fair. Piggybacking it with Powerboast I think is a good idea, though maybe you shouldn't get the ability to use it till Master Meditation, but you hve to use Powerboast to activate it. I really don't see an overpowering with having electricity damage (or whatever) and HAM powerboast at the same time, cause frankly, you have to powerboast regardless to have a chance. Plus there really is no difference between HAM powerboast and fighting without VKs and HAM powerboasting and fighting with new electricity damage or something. Exact same concept.

The only thing I worry about is the Devs seem real cautious (as I think they should) about introducing anything quasi-Force-ish. Right now Jedi's are the only force sensitive folks out there, and while I'd like to see more choices for a FS character (TKM amongst them as well as other stuff I'm sure) the Devs seem to want to limit the amount of Force power out there. If you want Force powers you play a Jedi. If you want a Jedi, you work your butt off. That's the Dev mentality when it comes to force powers.

The only response TKAs have for people complaining and calling out "overpowered!" is that TKAs have one damage type. What would you have to say to the people who cry nerf if you had multiple damage types all wrapped up in one weapon, or even multiple damage types? As it stands now, if TKA gets multiple damage types, balancing would have to be done.

Guy: TKA is overpoweredz!

TKA: But we can only...eh...*blank expression*

If anything, I'd rather see a new "heavy vibroknuckler" or something that does medium armor piercing. Channeling our inner force to make electricity is a bit much, in my opinion. Next we'll be asking to have ranged heat attacks (shooting lasers out of our eyes) or ranged cold attacks (blowing freezing cold air), etc.

Yet healing poisons, wounds and diseases while also extending your life seems perfectly rational? LoL Ok maybe for you it is but given how well known Force Lightning is for Jedi and Sith it doesn't take much of a step for followers of Teras Kasi to be able to channel similar energies through their bodies and releasing them when they strike something. Teras Kasi in my opinion needs to have more and more leanings towards their mystical side to give it a unique flavour. Just like all professions need something that is inherently 'cool' about them. As it stands TK only has one unique feature to make it nothing more than Brawler mk2, that is the meditation skills. Something which I feel should be expanded upon.

The issue with people thinking that someone who is powerboosted AND has switched to channeling electricity/heat/cold into their strikes is overpowered are not seeing that because you have to stop and meditate to switch to another damage type you actually have a weakness that other professions do not. Since the root of the problem is with PvP you can't just examine the player to see what they are strongest or weakest against. You'd need to make an educated guess, however once you get into that fight you won't have the luxery to switch to another damage type. However every other combat profession can adapt so it means allowing a TKA to powerboost and cause another damage type isn't overpowered at all, infact it could allow you to totally screw yourself over should you encounter someone who is highly resistant to the damage type you focussed on using.

I would agree though that if someone could switch between VKs that cause different damage type then you'd have an issue with overpowering.

As for shooting lazers from your eyes ect... no, that would be taking it to far. Teras Kasi is very much limited to using the Force to augment your own body, not manipulating the Force that is around you or projecting it in the form of Force Lightning. However electrifying your body for a moment as you make contact with a punch isn't breaking the nature of TK.

Heres another vote for shooting lasers out of our eyes. Best idea ever!

Oh, and since we are so atunned to the force, we should be able to call upon the help of sea creatures while we're at it.

What I would like to see is a certain amount of "Crafting Freedom" put into the weaponsmith profession. They should be able to mix and match all sorts of things to make any weapon the type of damage they want. Sort of like how the Bio Engineer system works with pets. This is a Sci-Fi game, when a weaponsmith learns to make a vibro"something" why couldn't that technology be put into another type of weapon, or if he can make a Stun Baton, why couldn't he us the same theory and put it into another style of weapon.

If I want a Powerhammer with electric damage instead of blast I should be able to have it, or a vibro knuckler with heat or what have you. Weapons themselves should be more or less just skins, with some limitations put in for the size of the weapon(a vk with a powerhammers damage is way overboard).

This of course would work with ranged weapons as well.

I also think this would help with everyone has armor thing, no one knowing what type of damage I am going to use on them.

TKA aren't force sensitive. They just have a strong mental disipline.

I think this board has already discussed ad-nauseum whether TKs are force "sensitive", or force "attuned", or force "aware", or force whatever.

Course I can't remember what the conclusion was if one was even drawn, since I thought the whole arguement was stupid cause it seemed it was just people trying to figure out a way to get Force powers without having a FS slot.

Not saying that that is necessarily a bad idea, but it's one that has to be approached very very carefully.

I still think the idea of a little electric burst when you hit someone is cool. Would even like to see it implemented perhaps, but I doubt it. Course it won't be much skin off my back if it'snot in.
