I never spammed KD myself. I would pull, kd as it arrived, then go to work debuffing it onceI had it down once - I would apply intimidate, blind and stun usually. Then I would attempt to knock it down every time it got back up and got a few swings off at me.

I figured that this was how TK was supposed to fight (onceI started using it - I got 5 boxes into TK before Ieven started using KD at all). Knockdown seemed the elegant solution to our obvious lack of defense, tanking power, and ridiculous damage against anything with huge hams and/or armor1 or greater.

I wouldn't even dream of trying to tackle an armor1 beast as we stand today. The fight would last at least 2 minutes, and I can't tank something no matter how many debuffs I land on it for that long. Oh and I am talking about white cons here... not yellows, not reds.

Never spammed it. Never saw it stack. Plus why would I want to?...That would make fighting so boring! We are here to have fun right?!

I couldn't agree with you more Streetracer, that to me is a great solution. When tanking a dragonet I'm more concerned with putting the critter down with kd than I am with the damage it does.

I mentioned before that I used kd about as much as the rest of the TKs out there and from reading how people use it in this thread, I'd say I was right. Pull, kd, basic attack with a blind, dizzy, stun here and there, kd as necessary. To me spamming kd didn't seem to do anything other than increase time between attacks and I'd get hit in between attacks....it doesn't always work. Does it stack though? Sure it does and you'd be silly not to stack it when facing a Tusken Warlord that can send you cloning with one hit. Mind you, I've never attempted to solo a Warlord, I'm speaking of being in a group of six people. I would pull it and try to hold aggro for the group. If I didn't put him down, we were all toast.

Never spammed KD, grouped or solo. Spamming KD in a group leads to nerfing your own XP gains, as you don't get as many attacks in. Spamming it solo leads to you eventually doing too much damage to yourself. I didn't realize the effect stacked until it was brought up after the patch.

i pseudospammed it, but it was only in groups to hold down multiple creatures kicking the crap out of my friends. I didnt get attacks in nor did i get good xp, but i saved my group =)

Glad to hear many of you agree with me, and that there are more honorable TKA then i thought

D'Shan i liked your posts especially...it begins to explain why the change to knockdown was made in the first place, unfortunately

I dont think it was overpowered though, if a kung fu master in real life chooses to knocksome onto their back they dont HAVE to let them get up, but usually they do out of honor and respect for their oponent. holy cow i cant spell...

i dont know, i think a ham change would have been acceptable by most people IF it was a resonable increase. Like by 10-30 more than before.

There's no difference between spamming KD and stacking it...or hitting the MOB once...then giving him a 10 count...and then hitting him again.

He's on the ground and he's staying on the ground.


If you want to give him a chance to get up out of the courtesy of your heart...then your nuts.

I used kd. My method was uneqip vks, hit kd, then dizzy then reequip vk's then I would wait another minute or 2 before I would do that again.

Yes I was fighting Narmle Milita Commandos last night.

Yes they Cho-Mok'd me...and used that Shiim-Shank or whatever it is bleed on me. I'm not even getting into the strafe shots that are sometimes used by NPC's on Rori.

If you're a TKA then you'd know that spamming KD has no benefits whatsoever. Spamming KD would mean that when we attacked something, we just hit "knockdown" over and over until the critter died.

If I ever spammed KD, it would probably take me 30 minutes to kill something with a few thousand HAM.
