1300 with unarmed 2? i doubt that, if thats so either your VK's are sliced or your attacking something that has a rifle and/or its kneeling/prone. Im a Teras kasi master Transodan. My unarmed damage is +200 im doing 1500 max on a lair, with VK's at that. Sure back in the day i could hit a tusken thats prone for 4500, most likely 6500-7500 now. But face it were dead when it comes to anything. big monsters just nail us over and over, we have no dodge or anything WE GET HIT no matter what and we dont have more HAM than other classes and out toughness doesnt cut it. With this new patch we cant control our enemys movement and so that were dead. Sure you say "fight me at 1m and ill kill you", well NO **edit**. Were gimped more than ever now and we cant do **edit** about it. The devs care less about our profession. The only way to get what we need done is to get our correspondent to send in reports on what we need. But even then its out of our hands, its purly up to the devs. And we know that they are pro-ranged pro-imperial bastards.

TK is not dead ... but it is not doing very well, either, especially when compared to other combat professions. (My main displeasure at the moment.)

TK is still viable in the PvE game. With the new HAM costs for special moves and the damage bonuses, we can still do fairly well in PvE, provided you select your targets carefully and/or use your abilities to your advantage. In comparison to other combat professions, however, we are still a second-string fighter (at best), even in PvE. Ranged professions can still Kite-and-Fight most red-conning mobswithout even gettingtouched, much less damaged. By contrast, TKA's have to rely upon a number of secondary skills to remain viable (medic, creature handler, etc.) So, yes--we are still viable in the PvE game, but no where even close to being as effecient as a ranged profession player. With the timer nerfs, we lose our PvE advantage over ranged combat professions and summarly drop to a significantly lower rank of viability.

TK is still a worthless, pathetic 'joke' of a combat profession with regard to the PvP aspect of the game, especially when factoring in the new timer nerfs. Until SOE provides TKA players with some viable way of catching 'kiting' enemies,we are at a serious disadvantage--a disadvantage that is significantly out of balance with the other combat professions. Even in close quarters, where we are supposed to'shine', we are now nothing but 'cannon fodder' forcookie-cutter bounty hunters everywhere. TKA players have been harping about this for weeks. SOE has failed to do anythingfor usapart from improving our damage output my a meager amount, while at the same time taking away our only ability that helped to counter 'kiting' (Arguably, the lamest, cheapest, most absurd and total thinking-not-required tactic in the game.)

On a percentage scale (with 100% being the topmost score), given the full scope of the game's features, TKA can arguably engage perhaps 60% of the combat areas/game features (if you put 'blinders' on and fail to compare the profession to anything else) , or 35% of the combat areas/game features (if you take into account all of the imbalances that are inherent to the TKA profession and scale it accordingly.)

As a TKA/Pistoleer, that's my opinion anyway.

Hey elanae, give me a break

i have pvp without my pets, and i do just fine. They are simply used to take away annoyances such as cowards that run (since no one has any types of speed benefits in this game, and EVERYONE is as fast as everyone else, GAG) and to keep faction pets busy, since they still hit for 100% in pvp.

it is PART of my strategy, not ALL of it.

I have yet to loose a dual (not a fight, an agreed upon dual) and ive never used my pets.

true, they come in handy, and it is harder without them due to everyone else owning pokemon too.

So ya, i do just fine without them thank you.

you know the only people i've seen whine about the patch are the people that rely on spamming one move over and over again to win. having a timer on KD was to prevent people from being able to stack the time where you can't attack.

/shrugs

TK is not dead to myself and others that aren't looking to be an overpowered FOTM. PvE isn't so bad, you just need to think about the tools at your disposal. i think a lot of people have come to rely on KD (and pets) so much that it's become a crutch. this is a constantly changing game, so learn to adapt. it's not like SOE nerfed us and left it as that... they raised our damage and reduced the ham costs of our styles.

Kooz do you feel like sharing this strategy of yours or you just like telling people you have one?

I haven't had a chance to play since the patch but I am concerned by the changes. I will be meeting up with a marksman friend tonight to train against a kiter post patch. Would like to hear this strategy of yours soI can try it out.

I'm mostly intersted in this statement,

"I have yet to loose a dual (not a fight, an agreed upon dual) and ive never used my pets."

Prepatch I didn't fear any ranged user in a 1v1 duel, now I've got no idea how you would be doing this.

Please share the knowledge.
