But that's wrong. That is not the role from the "EU". Nowhere in the EU was the Teras Kasi Order presented as a Jedi-controlling society, and nowhere was TKA presented as a skillset meant to counter Jedi. Anyone familiar with Star Wars knows how much anti-Star Wars such a concept would be. Jedi have no peers, that's what makes them so special. And if there's anyone who doesn't need "policing", it's the Jedi.

Yes, Jedi are supposed to be "Special".. But not Gods. With everyone running around shouting Canon, let's include THIS - At the time frame SWG is set (Supposedly between ANH and ESB), there are2 and only2 Jedi/Force users - Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. The Emperor had not been revealed to be a Force user at the time. Canon alone would dictate that all these new jedi should NOT exist, period. However, since creative license has been used to allow more Jedi - So should the same license be used to allow that Jedi WOULD need policing.
