Thread: Self Sufficient Solo TKA?

Since it is more than likely that I will never become a Jedi, as I am a casual gamer, I thought that the TKA would give me a little bit of that mystical feel from a roleplaying perspective.

I only play PvE so keep that in mind please

What professions mix well with the TKA Master allowing her to be self-sufficient? The reason I mention this is that often I am on for a short period of time and can only chat with friends while soloing a bit. I rarely have time to meet up and group.

I have read Master Rifleman/TKA is a fun combination because of the 'stacking' issues; but this does not sound very self-sufficient as the TKA needs buffs galore and the Rifleman needs a constant supply of food, armor, buffs, resources to offset the high HAM cost. That is very expensive from what I am reading and more of a time sink (for the Rifleman) after they become a Master (relative to other combat professions).

So the question is: what combinations do you think makes the best 'on their own' TKA? Master Doctor, maybe? I just do not know. I am quite new to the game and really need some advice.

Thank you so much!!

Since TKMs can meditate and powerboost, they are ideal solo adventurists. Migrate your mind to its maximum potential, get a good set of 60% or better Kinetic protect armor such as Advanced Ubeseand a 60% Personal Shield Generator, and you are set to travel the galaxy far and wide. Buffs are still welcome for extended bonuses but not necessary. Clearing battle fatigue at a busy cantina is about the only encounter with "civilization" that is needed.

tkm/master doc is probably the best for what you want, or at least 0-4-4-0 doc so that you can buff yourself

Thank you!

In that case, maybe a Master TKA, Master Rifle, with Novice Medic, and Smuggler to Feign Death? That would leave me with 26 points left over according to the calculator thingy.

How does that sounds for a PvE self sufficient solo TKA?

And if it is good where should the last points be placed to help out?

Oops, Forge you posted while I was writing my last post up! So you think doctor would work. I have a lot to think about now

Thank you both for the replies.

I think for a pure PvE character TKM/Mdoc would be good. But the only drawback is that DOC is a crafting profession. You just need to be prepared for that. If you are only buffing yourself, you can make sub par buff packs that will do just fine and you don't have to spend alot of time hunting for supplies

For Stim-D packs you will need a personal crafting station/or a droid with a medical crafting chip, and a food factory.

If you are interested in being a good DOC, selling good buffs, and having very good stim-pack's you will spend some time searching for resourses and crafting.

I wasa doc before the holo grind, and I plan on getting it back. I love playing a doctor, healing people, buffing group members, and a tkm is good for solo missions. I am not pushing against DOC, just want you to be aware. for a casual gamer it can be a little time consuming

Yes, the time consuming part might be an issue. Whichever direction I go, do you think Feign Death is an indispensable skill for the TK?

And thank you again for the replies. I am learning a lot!

I agree TKM and master Doc is what I would consider to be the best combo suited for your need.

Standing in line for 30min for buffs suck.

Other than having to heal BF now and then I allows you to get the most done in the shortest amount of time.

i have two accounts. my first account is a wookiee master tka/master ch. this is alot of fun. my second account is commando/tka. its my opinion that any class that is coupled with tka is self sufficiant. the meditation line in tka is absolutely amazing. meditating your wounds away and powerboost make tkas very soloable.

Don't make your own doc stuff...just buy them assuming you have the funds. Then you don't need to mess with any of the crafting and go for the 0240 doctor template to allow self buffs. I was a Commando/TKM for a while and could cook through some serious caves etc solo...that was before the nerfing of the DOTs though.

Tka/master ch is a good combo for going solo. i too am a wookiee tka/master ch and i dont need buffs to solo rancors and such... just took down an ancient bull rancor quite easily with out buffs. poor pet got some nasty wounds though. i can imagine that tka/master doc is a lovely combo!

I just became a TKM and am going for Master Doctor. I buy all my buff packs and buff myself and some guild members mostly (I hate to waste time crafting or looking for resources).

I really like this setup, because I can just go anywhere anytime and kill anything with little trouble. The TKA skills are more than enough for PvE in my opinion, you don't need to complement them with any other combat skills. And being a doctor only helps, since you can migrate all you stats to mind and then buff yourself, thus never worrying about your HAM. Also, incase you do notice that health or action bar slipping you can health yourself instantly.

It's been working out great for me, I find myself wasting less time running around looking for things this way and can fully enjoy every second of the game.

Hope that helps,

PD

I just reread the post above mine and I have to agree about the Creature Handler comment, it's great to have a pet take the damage for you and it's great fun to have one. I was thinking of going down that road myself (TKM/CH) but I just couldn't do without the buffs. They help a lot, especially since we as TKA's fight so close to our prey.

If however you decide to go for Rifleman instead of TKA, you can have two pets take the beating for you and just shoot at your prey from far away. I think that would be a lot of fun and I might try it when I get bored of being a TKA.

Again, I hope that helps in making your decision,

PD
