No ranting no raving just a list of things I think are wrong, please feel free to add to it.

1. HAM cost on specials - Ham cost onall specials needto be looked at and re-evaluated they are higher than any other combat profesion especially when you equip Knucklers.

2. Lunge - Personally I believe the fix you made to lunge wasin thewrong direction especially since no other posture changing special were adjusted, I dont believe for 1 minute that it was overpowered before it was nerfed I used it alot untill I got knockdown 1 and 2 and it is in no way different from a marksmen kiting or useing threaten/warning shot or supression fire. Either it needs to go back to the way it was or you need to consider some of the ideas the beta testers gave you my favorite being performing a lunge will close distance on your target (perhaps make it like a running jump kick of sorts) Brawlers have an incredibly hard time fighting things that are even con because the only posture change in the wntire brawling tree does 1 damage and uses a huge amount of HAM. Its not untill they get Knockdowns do TKAs become equal in marksmen while soloing.

3. Vibro Knucklers/Bezerk - To me these are the 2 things that have gotten the Teras Kasi nerfed to hell and back. If you use both of these things in a fight your about as strong as a marksmen with the same skill boxes if not your damage output isnt suficiant enough to kill even con mobs reliably. The irony here is that once you become a TKA Master you prolly will never use knucklers again because of item 1 on my list coupled with the range reduction you recieve by useing them, (especially in PvP).

I think damage is almost right for Brawling /TKA except I believe it does need to be uped a bit morein the brawling tree.I think as you train in novice you get +10 unarmed damage, followed by +10 in all 4 of the brawling tree boxes. Then when you train in TKA instead of getting +20 its reduced too +10 with the addition too +10 in all 4 boxes of the power. And it ends at Master with +20 leaving use with a grand total of +120 unarmed damage 30 points more than the current rate yet 40 points less than the pre nerf rate of160(for trandoshen add +15 at novice brawler) The reason I broke it up like this is brawlers are seriousily underpowered before the unarmed nerfs and now there even more so. With this breakup of the points they are actually a bit stronger then before the damage was lowered, also its a smooth ramp up in damage which I think most people expect as they lvl.

I aslo believe most of your statistical damage is flawed in the fact that the first thing every tka does is go out run missions and go buy a shiney VibroKnuckler so they can be viable, why do you do this you ask? Because your statistical data thats been showing TKAs as dooing too much damage is all based on the fact that everyone and his mother have Vibro Knucklers and spam bezerk in a fight (because its the only way to be effective). The problem I see with this is VKs (Vibro Knucklers) are the only weapons iv ever seen that have a hinderance that comes along with their use. Not only is your normal melee range cut from 6m down to 3m you also pay tripple the HAM cost on specials for using them (which is why everyone uses bezerk and not other specials) All the other weapons ramp up in damage and decrease in HAM costs except for VKs. The solution to this is keep unarmed damage where it is extend the VKs range tot hat of normal attacks and loosen up heavily on the HAM cost for specials (190-HAM for unarmed hit 2 using VKs compared to bodyshot 2 thats curently using only 32-HAM with my non uber scout pistol). Or remove VKs from the game and ramp up our damage again so we can be effective withough having to sacrifice range/specials other than bezerk to be effective.

Other classes arnt even able to use their best weapons yet because of lack of resources so were being balanced against other classes that arnt even at their full potential yet in terms of damage. Im not sure what you were thinking in beta not testing this stuff basically you nerfed TKAs because you didnt have the foresight to make all the different resources availible to make every single type of weapon at peak quality to get a realistic pool of data with which to balance things. The boards were full of marksmen complaining about how unarmed could do so much more damage then them and on every post was a weaponscrafter saying hold your horses you dont even have a high quality weapon yet so you cant judge balance yet untill they become available. Yet noone listened.

p.s. Sorry it did kinda turn into a rant at the end.

So true. On many many different levels. These are the true core problems of the TKA prof. Everything else is just derived from one of these problems.

I for one don't see at all how a TKA is "underpowered." One of my RL best friends is a novice TKA, about halfway up to master, and he hits INSANELY harder and faster than anyone else i have ever grouped with. While me and my ranged buddies are hitting from anywhere between 100-125 with regular shots and 250 w/ specials, he's pounding into the creature for 400+ damage regularly. (Not to mention he's a CH, so his pet is hitting in the low 100's as well). Also, with how pathetic group exp is atm, he's probably suckingup about 75% of the experiencethat our entire group gets. In 6 person groups on dantooine, he was getting about 3000 per kill, while most of us were getting anywhere from 700-1000 experience. Now why does a TKA need more power and speed again???

That's it? You should look into upgrading your weapons. What's your base damage on weapon you are currently using to come up with this data and the speed?

well for one thing he right when you get vibros i just use zerking i hit for 500+ at time but if i use special it sucks up like 112 of my action not worth it rather fail zerk and just use stims with zerk you move faster anyways

I should also point out Group exp is buged so being upset about your friend getting more exp is moot. Its not working as intended and the DEVs have stated its not working as intended. Getting upset about it, which is an entirely different subject that what were talking about here is un-constructive.

Also the damage changes iv laid out arnt all that dractic, it would be like comparing a current human TKA master too a Trandoshen TKA master in terms of damage/speed. Its only my atempt at fixing the unarmed brawling line and smoothly ramping up the damage as they lvl.

Yikes... since the game started I knew that I would want to be a Teras Kasi first and something else, prob squad leader second. So I've been working towards this prof. I don't get to play much so the going is slow, but I read this and now I'm concerned that maybe I'm heading in the wrong direction.

I know exactly what you're talking about with the Vibro knuckles. My favorite moves (because they're the best I have so far at Advanced Unarmed) are Stun & Blind. I start every fight that way and then laugh because of the negatives they have in combat. As soon as I got the Knuckles I almost messed myself when I saw the HAM damage for those moves.

Are the nerf changes so bad that I should avoid this class now?

ZZax : Once you master TKA it depends on what you plan on doing with it, A smart TKA in PvP is a very nasty thing. The overall class isnt bad theres just some tweaking that needs to be done.

Side note I remembered another issue.

4. Unarmed Lunge 2 - Unarmed Lunge 2 is still missing from the TKA tree. Whered it go nobody knows......

Are you using a DX2 yet? Because thats analogous to what the vibroknuckles are. They are the ultimate weapon for TKA. Could you please tell us if your friend is using berserk regularly? If not, what quality knucklers is he using? I have had fightsdepend on whether I berserk or not. if I do, I win, If I dont, I lose; If I fail, I lose faster. It is the only viable move for a knuckled TK, while spamming bodyshot is common practice for pistoleers. What damage is your pistol now? Did you sacrifice damage for speed?I have also heard of instances in beta where Pistoleers fire faster than TKA at master level. Whether this is true or not now, I dont know. Being CH is not really an issue. Any other class can take that as welland the creatures use up part of the xp which could be why you got less xp, or you just hit your cap.

Any comparisons can only take place between players of the same skill level withtheir best weapons. If you are merely novice, and he is as you say halfway up the skill tree, then of course he will do more damage than you.

Could we have more info please?

Remember also, that there does not really have to be perfect balace, just as long as TKA are good at what they do, and are a viable solo and pvp class. I have made mine into a viable solo character, but I have sacrificed a lot to do that, and as for pvp,you areon your own.

Monolith, I agree. I am also a TKA novice as well as Pistoleer just to compare and it is amazing of the difference of styles and the diffuculty to gain experience while in melee. The HAM drain, pvp balancing is something we need to take a look at especially since mindshot is the bane atm for all brawlers. More on this later, but good post.

Ualunge 2 was stuck into the master brawler box.

Not sure if it's going to be placed back into the TK second balance line box or not.

Would be nice to get it back though.

Also would be great to get berserk 2 in theTKM box too.

Doubt if they will change brawler skills much until later on, after they fix the major game breaking bugs and the first big content patch too.

They really do need to lower the pools costs especially when wearing knuckles. Could lower the pool costs across the board in the craftersdiagramsmaybe.

I don't understand how a dinky piece of metal in your handcould be that much more tiring to swing about, not like it's a polearm or a heavy weapon like huge axe.

I have just ok vibro knuckles and it costs my character 186 pool damage to use a single uahit2 anfd thats without wearingany armor whatsoever.Would be alot worse wearing armor, *shudders* I don't even really care to think of the cost then, maybe 250-300 ?

Actually, UAspin1 costs me 275, for berserk i take my knuckles off and use 184. I dont use the others. Just not worth the HAM cost for the effect. UAspin does 275 damage to me, but untold damage to the creatures surrounding me. I seem to remember using UAhit1 once out of habit, and it was around 213.

Its kind of funny hearing all the carbineers complaining about their specials. Welcome to my world!

Reveille1984 : Im guessing you missed the last paragraph here a snipit that still holds true to this day.

"Other classes arnt even able to use their best weapons yet because of lack of resources so were being balanced against other classes that arnt even at their full potential yet in terms of damage."
