Are the bonuses given to Trandoshans, Zabrak, or Rodians really important or are the bonuses meaningless enough so you just pick whatever race you happen to like looking at more. Also...what does "Regeneration" do? How often can it be used? Copied and Pasted the bonuses from the TKA FAQ from the official boards below so you won't have to look 'em up. (http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=teras_kasi_artist&message.id=61745#M61745)
Trandoshan
+10 Unarmed Accuracy
+5 Unarmed Speed
+15 Unarmed Damage
+10 Melee Defense
+1 Regeneration
Zabrak
+10 Defense vs Dizzy (keeps you from falling again when you try to stand after being knocked down)
+10 Defense vs Stun (when you are stunned you do less damage)
+10 Defense vs Intimidate (when you are intimidated you do less damage)
+1 Equilibrium
+1 Vitalize
Rodian
+15 Defense vs Blind (when you are blind your accuracy is reduced)
Trandoshan

What restrictions are those? And you didn't really answer the question....

The bonuses are meaningless except for maybe Equilibrium and Vitality.
The restrictions will affect your character much more than the meager bonuses.
Trandoshans can't wear gloves or boots. Thats a major restriction. Rodians can't wear certain helms and their substats cap lower than normal.
But play what you have fun with, you really can't gimp your character at character creation like other games. I would say Zabrak because Equilibrium is a lifesaver.

"+10 Defense vs Stun (when you are stunned you do less damage)"
Stun affects your defenses, not damage output.
Yes you can do any species you want for TKA. Even Mon Calamari is a good species if you can get doc buffs often and put your stats all in Mind.

So it doesn't really matter, Atama? How hard will it hit me to be unable to wear boots or gloves if I chose Trandoshan as a race? Assuming I can't get doc buffs all the time.

Oh, also...what exactly does Regeneration do for Trandoshan? and Vitalize? The description for each of them shows, I think, that they are short term stat buffs...but what do they actually do?

I think the regeneration stat, is a mini bonus for you ham bars when sitting or meditating, gives you a slight bonus to how fast the regenerate (heal). TKA is pretty well balanced so no race hinders it to much, personally I would go human for the stat migration freedom, or Zabrak for the equilibrium, awsome ability one of the best in game.

Heh, currently I have a Zabrak on Ahazi (Thraksis Nightseeker, iirc) and a Trandoshan on Eclipse (Thakar Dreadclaw...I think). Just trying to figure out which race I like more at the moment. I think I like the look of the Trandoshan more, but I'm not sure how much the extra defenses vs dizzy/stun/intimidate and Equilibrium (since it is only usable once every hour)would help my Zabrak or how much the extra attack speed, accuracy, and damage would help my Trandoshan or how much of a disadvantage it is to not be able to wear gloves or boots.

It doesnt hinder you that equalibrum only can be used once every hour. Once youve used it you will be alot more careful. And the extra stun and intimidate defences are nice to have, the intimidate in PvP. Trandos can get hurt quite bad if they get hit on hand/feet in PvP. Strafeshot deals alot of damage, and even if you can outlive one hit you get hurt pretty bad.
If your a Zab you got much less to think about. You got an emergency skill, you got good mindstats. You can use all armor.
Play the races you have to choose from and see what race appeals to you the most.
Vitalize does +50 extra HAM for 10minutes or something. Its not totaly useless but its not even close as good as powerboost/buffs/food/drink/drugs.

regeneration on a trando provides a slight increase in i think constitution and health bar (mabye just consitution) but its really useless seeing as you already heal real fast in your health bar as a trando anyway
