I bought a couple of tapes for my clothes (does that many sense?). One was... Pike accuracy +1, and one was something else brawler related. After putting them in I checked my stats and they were exactly the same. So... I didn't see much of a difference. No difference, really.

I have quite a few skill attachments but I just don't know how to put it into the sockets of my clothes.. And I take it I have to have the clothing with the skill attachments equiped in order for it to work.. So, how do I use the attachments?

There are 2 kinds of attachments. The ones that look like a roll of fabric or tape can be dragged onto a clothing slot and it'll install itself. You can't take it back out, however.

The ones that look like square armor plates have no known use. The general concensus is that at some point armor crafters will either be able to use them in armor, or will be able to make socketed armor.

So far neither one of these things has happened.

While you can socket all clothing, the only pieces I bother with are a 4 socket shirt and a 4 socket belt. Reason is, I can still wear the shirt and belt with a full set of armor. I don't wear armor all the time, but when I do, I like to bring the modifiers along for the ride.

When you are wearing an item that increases a stat, you will see a number pair on the listing. For example with a total of +5 in unarmed damage I might see: Unarmed Damage 108/113.

This may be obsolete information, but it was that way back when I was fighting Tuskens and regularly getting tape and armor plate drops. Nowadays I only have my original gloves and boots, which have stat modifiers on them for skills that I don't actually have, so I do not know if they even show up in the window now.

I have a tape for +3 unarmed damage, but I'd rather get something a bit more serious than that. I used to get some decent stats on them, but then they horked all of the drops fora few weeks, and it hasn't been the same since. I have killed Tuskens and high level Rebels without any drops I can remember. Maybe there are good tapes to be found on Dathomir or some other high end planet now.

Socketed clothing is cosmetic, and doesn't actually benefit skills.

We have had our obvious disagreements in the past, but I didn't think you would stoop to such blatant misinformation. You have really disgusted me. Shoo! Begone if you insist on being not only unhelpful, but deceitful.

Sockets sounds like an EverQuest word.

None the less, what is it please? And, please, be nice.

you probably won't notice ANTHING +1.....but there have been things found like pikeman accuraccy +19....it sold for millions

and there isa bug....if you put a enhancer on you get the bonus....but if you log or load and have it equipped it has no effect.....and if you take it off it subtracts

so 100 defense with a +1 would give you 101.....but if you log or load it will say 100 again and if you unequip it will say 99 till the next time you load.

I can't belive how much misinformation there is in one thread...

Skill Attachments are VERY useful. And there are many worth having.

First off the armor attachments, and the skill attachments that look like a sign ARE used currently by armorsmiths when they make a piece of armor. Only one per piece and they cannot be backed out. They were fixed 2 patches back.

Second, the tape looking attachments can be dragged and dropped on any piece of clothing that has sockets. You can tell a clothes has socket by the text with it's name being yellow. Once you drag and drop a tape on a socketed piece of clothing you cannot take it back out.

Like I said there are many good ones to be had, here are just a few...

  • Reduction to Chance of Posture Change

  • Increase Intimidation

  • Increase Bezerk

  • Increase to Unarmed Accuracy

  • Increase to Unarmed Speed

And many more that modify the stats that are used for a Teras Kasi. These drop randomly off of humanoid MoBs, however I scout out the bazaar terminal daily for these.

I do see a change in my stats when I put on, or take off the clothes that have been modified with Tapes.

Hope this helps...
