Thread: Dizzy does not stick enough

I recently attained the title of Teras Kasi Master, and have so far loved the tanking ability. Besides some of the other issues, I have noticed that the dizzy state does not stick very often (even though it says that adv dizzy is supposed to almost always stick in the discription). I have been using shock from combat medic (reduction in state resists) and have found that even when I have shock applied to the target, I onlyget abouta 50% chance of applying dizzy to a target.

Seeing as we get an advanced move to apply the dizzy state, I think that dizzy should stick much more often than it currenly is, especially since states are going to have a much larger effect on their targetsin the future (or so I have heard).

Armor break is even worse. I miss at least 75% of the time with it, and when it hits it does zero damage itself, and is resisted at least 50% of the time. That means that for every 10 times I use it, it works maybe two times (max). Given the action and time it takes, is the resistance modification really even worth it? Let's see... doubling the effective damage something takes for 4 or 5 hits... combined with 8 whiffs... I think it may be a waste of time even using it.

Dizzy also hardly ever sticks... I'd say about 33% of the time it sticks, 33% of the time it is resisted, and 33% of the time I miss completely.

For a TK master, I seem to miss an awful lot with anything but the basic attack or Lunge/KD.

Dizzy is bad, but I would have to agree that trying to get Armor Break to stick is even harder.

Remember Armor Break is a Swordsman special, notTKM, the only reason we have it is the 4 boxes of swords that are required now. The advanced AB, from master swords is much better. I am pure TKM and that is all, but one of my mates is MSwords as well, and I did notice the difference. The only advanced special we get is combo attack.

Well I find armour break to be most invaluable in a group scenario - sure it doesnt stick all the time and yes the cost is quite high. But when you have riflemen who are firing shots of 1500+ behind you, break that armour and knock the thing down straight awayafterwards, and suddenly they are shooting 2500+ shots... Its good - very good. Something that suddenly puts the amount of damage people are doing up by 30-40% should not by its nature be easy to apply, and should not stick every time.

Dizzy however sucks. I have tried occasionaly to get it to work, and even level 34 creatures seem able to resist the attack. What is the point of it again?? It doesnt increase damage, and all i have noticed is that ANECDOTALY the mob seems to miss more. I have removed it from my toolbar in favour of a heal command

Dizzy is said to reduce defense a lot, and accuracy a bit.

This is a 2-Handed Lightsaber Dizzy but it's still dizzy right?

A Roba

I was hitting for 225 and when i applied Dizzy i dealt 225 also. This creature was a LVL 44 mob (closest sucker i could find ). It should be noted it did seem to miss alot but that could be due to CL difference.

So i went after soem LVL 80 critters

An Archane Hatchling

I was hitting for 136 damage and when i applied Dizzy it was 139. It consistently managed to hit me untill i applied dizzy in which case it began to miss noticably more. Good Stuff to know for those who would have low accuracy or if you have high Ranged/Melee defences. It however didn't sit well with my when i tried to apply dizzy while already applied (stack it basically so it lasts longer) all i got was -No Effect-

I have been fighting feral wookies (for Katarn Knuckles quest) and theor accompanying spiders. Both are cl 79 mobs and I am cl80. I find armor break sticks about 55-60% of the time. It is in an initial hit macro. It is followed by leg sweep and head hit. During the fight it sticks more often than not for me. I also use dizzy which appears to result in less damage taken by me. I don't know if that is due to misses or less powerful hits by the affected mob. I do know I last longer against three or four when I stick these specials.

Could your problems with sticking the specials be due to a particular mob's resistance to that sort of attack?

You are right not only does dizzy does not do what the discription says , i see no visable effects using the special.

From what I've heard from people on the test center, applying states like dizzy and stun is having a much greater affect than before. Due to this, I think that we really need an increase in the amount that dizzy sticks to its target. Otherwise its gana be fairly pointless in trying to apply it to a target.

One thing I noticed on states, let me explaine. I use Ranger traps to pull one critter at a time, for I do solo a lot. As said crittercharges me I give him the 'ole leg sweep, this kd's the beastie. I have noticed the Armor Breaksticks much much better when the critter is down, note this is not the advanced ab from MSwords, just the one we get form Brawler/Swords. At this point I just lump on it a while, then I use the dizzy, which makes my sceond knock down easier, then the ab again, then lump lump. Thats normally all it takes.
