Thread: Unarmed grind is the worst I've ever experienced...

And I have mastered 6 different elite professions.

Seriously it took me less time to fill in half of my master swordsman box then it is taking me to get just to unarmed IV. I can't fathom the grind to TK novice.

Try rifle its even harder. But yes TKA is probally the second hardest novice tree there is.

IMO.... we are the BEST melee class in the game and there fore trying to get to TKAnovice should be extremely hard i mean look what we can do at novice. and our ability to heal our own wounds and stop diease and poison i mean we are almost completely self suficient and if they incorporate advanced HAM regeneration and the new power boost... to be honest getting TKM should be as hard as getting master bounty hunter. (not in the sense that we have to master 2 classes first)

I agree here, there isnt any line thats so **edit** tedious as unarmed , im not talking about tka, but just the unarmed line. No weapon line is that hard, i've tried nearly all, inlcuding rifle. Rifle is a walk thru the park compared with unarmed.

Bring that **edit** Vibro knuckler back to expert unarmed ( III )

As a master rifleman now deciding to take up teras kasi for fun (giving up CH out of raw boredom) I can tell you unarmed is way, way harder lol.. I could go prone as a rifleman, fire2 shots (the mob doesn't even head to you yet at this point if you're prone, you can get about 20 seconds worth of shots with mask scent.. about 12 by just going prone) and kill nearly any white con... as I gained AEs in the rifleman tree I just started AEing a whole mess of guys and made master rifleman in< 90 hours of play...no way in hell I'd get that as a teras kasi unless i had a master doc following me everywhere. I agree with the above post that says vibro knucklers should be allowed after you have unarmed 3, but it's not ridiculously hard.. it is possible, just boring as hell (which is even worse). I've found the best way is to put on a suit of armor (at least 40% kinetic hopefully), and take on blue mobs with auto attack giving about 150-200 exp a piece so you don't take much damage. Get 2 lairs in the same direction and bounce between them rather thangoing back andgetting missions. Went brawler 1-3 in about 4 hours last night using that technique... taking a breather now with around 20k exp into brawler 4 (after about 2 hours today). About 7 hours of straight exp to fill in that unarmed 4 box.. not a liftetime, but just plain boring with limited skills. I tried pulling with rifle bleeds on harder mobs to hopefully speed things up, but with limited tanking skills got ripped apart.

riffle novis is hard, swords is the easiest of the 4 melee's to raise, and to master, TK is one of the heardest to master of all professions, including bounty hunter.

ofcourse i lvled my unarmed 4 and novis tk using VKs before they put the certifications on them /shrug.

also lvled to master TK before they nerfed KD. Now with KD nerf, and that cert thing, mastering in TK is even harder.

Dont let anyone ever tell you that cause your master TK that doesn't mean anything rofl, it means alot, most people dont have the pacience to grind out the exp to master from novis brawler.

Well number wise it's not much different than any other class. However our "out of range" message, collision box's that are 1/4th the size of the enemy, and not having a /stick command leads us down the road commonly known as incap.

IMHO it's the recovering from poision, stun, intimidate, the wounds, and the various other dammage that really makes the unarmed tree the most difficult to level. And the fact that we don't get any XP bonus'sfor being melee overranged doesn't help the situation either. I can take out a white con at close range, take all their dammage and get the same experiance that a pistoleer gets when they take on the same con and take no dammage because they've kited the thing all over the place.

I don't know about mastery, but I recently reached novice rifle, and I'm now 8k away from novice TK. I can state categorically that TK is harder by far. I doubt there's a tougher path to novice in any of the combat skills.

Btw, is there any other damage other than kinetic for TKs? If not, they really should get some way to do stun damage. It makes sense, and it would be useful for PvP.

I still think TKA should have to master brawler at least

What does KD stand for?

KD is Knock Down.

The real problem with unarmed is... well... it is unarmed. There are no weapons to increase or enhance your abilities. Every other tree gets incrementally more effective weapons as you climb ranks. What needs to be added is weapon certifications for some HTH weapons which increase the abilities above purely unarmed, but maybe not so high as good VKs.

Rank 1 unarmed might get spiked gloves. Dam 22-65 with speed 3.5.

Rank 3 unarmed might get Brass Knuckles. Dam 40- 85 with speed 3.

Something like this is desperately needed. Maybe after VKs you can also get hand blades which increase the HTH range a bit, since that is the most impacting limitation at higher levels. Even if it adds only 5M to your reach it would help a ton.

Master rifleman here...

I find that rifle is harder but not by much... I got Hth 3 in one night where it took 2 weeks to get rifle specialist on the marksman tree... And no im not exploiting hehe just have buffs up the wazoo and such hehe. No buff going to help you when your out of mind... well mulon gold but its to buggy to use atmI find.. Some of my easy times is frommy defense mods from rifleman so i do have it a bit easier than true new brawlers...
