Well todayI debated if I wanted to drop Master Fencer and become Master TKA.
I would still like to do it but TKA are USELESS in pvp.
I dueld several TKM
1 Kited me around and head shot me with his rifle.
1 Got torn threw with my stun baton
1 Was a good fight but I still one
I beat a Trashodan TKA wearing ubese while I was un armored
This was wearing my 80% kin suit. Wearing my stun suit the results werent much diffrent.
I really wanted totry TKM/DOC but I guess Its useless.
IF ANY TKM is on the ahazi server and would like to prove me otherwise please send me a tell or email
(I am hoping you do).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TKA are super weak in the state of things and the combat revamp being so far off makes things look grim.
Weres the dev love?

No I wouldn't say they're useless.. We just are focused to more of a defensive state at the moment due to armor at this ridiculous level of 1337ness. PSG's help divert alot of that stun damage which most people don't carry around much more.. My friend has a souped up acklay baton with +500 damage and when i'm buffed up and have used my assortment of food its about 200 damage at most.. And with fencers having no solid attack to the mind pool I just stand up and lay down states and try to get him down.. Thats the only way they're not gonna run away for marksman professions and brawlers for the 50% added bonus which really stacks up. Although against TKM's you don't do much damage but he's in the same boat... Swordsman aren't that tough with the severe penalty's they get against migration.. They have the second highest toughness mod in the game which kind of hurts us.
Now the big and bad fencers have about half of TKA's toughness but have a great resistance to most states. Although they aren't that hard to get on unless they have stacked templates even then all states have a 5% chance of sticking no matter how high the defenses. So i'll take awhile. The best things to get on are intimidate and stun. That'll severely reduce the amount of damage you'll take from those big bad salami sticks. Lay down your states and try to get them down via lunge + dizzy.. It'll take awhile but you'll eventually get it. KD2 Rarely works in this case but you just might get lucky bet you'd be better off sticking for the first method. After that just let out some serious blows to the head. Most fencers i've fought use dodge food which isn't that effective vs. a tka due to our amazing accuracy mods. Some use synthsteak but most of it is tied up into other foods.. If they are just wear it down it only lasts 30+ hits or so. I can usually do atleast 100-130 damage on most fencers unless they have great sliced composite with 90% kinetic you'll have some problems there but just use the same techniques and you'll eventually pull through as long as you keep on your feet. Most Fencers Use the lunge and dizzy technique. Luckily for me i'm a doc so I can heal before I go down. And I also have great KD defense, but if I do go down my macro can get me up within 5 seconds or so. And if you have states layed down you shouldn't have much problem. But not all TKA's are docs so if the states wear off your gonna have some problems. Also if you have alota stats stuck on or just need a break to regain your balance warcry and get situated. Make sure you don't attack or it'll break the delay. Anyways carry around good stun armor psg's sliced will help greatly. Some synthsteak or exo protein waffers and if you want some rakarian burnout sauce. I have a nice 250+ dmg vk some burnout sauce and maxed unarmed damage attachments which is a luxury not most people have I can get my unarmed damage mod near 300.. And keep some things you'll need outside the crates before you go into the fight, because TKA isn't as great on offense as defense atm and you'll need to prepare for a large fight. Fencers are the majority of melee fighters you'll take on in PvP. Hence this ridiculously long err.. o well so much for paragraphs... Just lay down states have the right equipment keep them intimidated and you'll be fine.
The same goes pretty much for Jedi aswell.. I do pretty good against anything lower than a Jedi Knight. The main thing is force shield. But just keep them on their toes and if you kd dwindle their force and then you should be doing better from there.
So if you wanna kill quickly this isn't your profession you can't just sit around letting people shooting at your either. Fencer is much for offensive and dodging hits. But a TKA can last much longer than a fencer ever could. Fencer for killing and Teras Kasi for tanking and laying down states is what it comes to. Its what you wan't. You can mix them together for an effective combo of great offensive and defensive build. Switch to fencer when your laying the beatdown and TKA when your on the ground or laying down states. Although I was considering doing that, but one thing bothered me.. Combat Medics.. So I picked up TKM/Fencer 4400/Doc 4030. Which combines the defense of tka with some of the dodging ability and state resists of fencer. And curing poisons, disease and states instantly which is essential for melee fighters.
So when people think just because they're carrying around an acklay baton makes them think they're invincible i'm happy to break it in two and beat them down.. Slowly yet surely.
1 v 1 you can usually beat most professions if you stick to your battlefield.. I.E. Indoors, Taking Cover or just out of large areas where people can kite you easily.. So TKA is good for sticking in for the long haul.. So just use these tactics and wait for the combat revamp.. Hopefully this'll straighten things out..

I completely disagree....
I've beaten far more fencers then I have lost too..
The fencers I tend to lose to (or have a serious hard time with) or some of the best PVP'rs on my server (Tempest)
When Overt I had covert reb fencer punks walk up to me and say "YOU TK I will come back to kill you"
I asked my mate no to interfere and beat the idiot down without taking any damage to speak of...
TK is a VERY powerfull class if you play it right... Try going up against a high level jedi...you can not without at least one TK in your group
I have a triple threat template (TKM, Master Pistoleer, Master Smuggler) and make the most of it....and I think I can say I do ok
I don't have any TK SA's (except for UA acc 4, but I only got that yesterday), only a BE shirt with intimidate and warcry mods (which anyone can get pretty cheap), my VK is about 185 Max damage my armor is a mix of stun layered and 80K comp (usually wear a 37s 84base helmet)
Now if someone could just fill me in on this burnout sauce....never seen it on any foodvendor...
BTW, for a small holo adventure I dropped TKM for master swordsman (still M pistoleer and still smuggler DF IV) I SUCKED BIG TIME vs my TKM
Swordsman maybe great in PVE, but for PVP you really need some VERY good gear to be competitive.
a guidlie of mine was TK/doc, dropped TK for fencer and is really regreting it....now she's going back to TKM (I might add this person is also a very good PVP'r, she almost got aKnight incapped all by herself, being fencer/doc)
Sadly enough I'm on Tempest...I'd love to show you some tricks in a duel hehe

I kill fencers all the time, just use the right food and a good 50% pgs, and you are all set.. Dont even need an armor..

I am:
Master TKA
Master Pistoleer
4-4-4-0 Fencer
I PvP in a roleplaying mode....not always but usually. I rarely lose, unless I run up against a couple of powergamers with all the dime store stuff equipped.
Yesterday, I dueled a guildie....regarded as one of the best PvP'ers on Kett. She is some mix of Smuggler, TKA, Pistoleer. We kicked each other all over town for about 10 minutes...and finally /endduel with no much damage to either.
caveat: a CM/rangedthat can lay venom on my mind bar can work me pretty quick unless I can burst or speed out of the area to heal. They remain my nemesis.
The reasons this skill set works for me:
I deliver fast, focused damage in melee
I can attack mind
I can hit you with a ranged attack
You can not hit me very often with my defenses.
In PvE, I can beat pretty much anything except the topshelf SBD's, Ancient Krayts, Dune Kimo's...but then almost no one can, especially since you can no longer hang targets on harvesters. *smile*
When I need to get serious....I drop my pistol and baton, and revert to unarmed hit 3. Time and again this attack wears em down...which is why I think I will never drop TKA. Besides, it is fun to bet the snot out of something with your bare hands.

See your template works because you have fencer and pistoleer
Straight TKM is no good.
