Thread: throwing stars at kiters.

How about throwing stars to allow TKAs to attack kiters?
Normal starscould do kinetic damage.
Explodingstars do blast damage.
Poison tipped stars do poison damage.
Lots of possibilities.
This would cause much grief with all the other professions, of course.
Nerf it, Nerf it, Nerf it, lol.

Stupid for melee to have a ranged atk.. hence the name melee. Kiting by ranged is meant to be a disadvantage to melee, and is certainly not unfair. You cannot remove the disadvantages, especially since now there is a to-hit bonus for melee when fighting against ranged attackers.

and what range to you propose for these throwing stars?
keep in mind that we have a posture-down attack that can hit up to almost 60 feet away.
...
we already have a ranged attack. we shouldn't be able to hit anyone from over 20m away.

Personally, I side on the argument of "why give a ranged weapon to a melee profession?"
Keep in mind, a ranged weapon is anything that can hit a target from a distance, without being held. For example, a polearm is not a ranged weapon, although it can hit someone from a distance, but a crossbow or throwing star would be.

Here's a idea, pick up a ranged profession. I think there are still a few skill points left after TKM.

Here's an idea. Some folks just plain don't like taking a ranged profession, so why not make a special at master brawler to give you a better burst run? That way you have to commit a lot of points to get it, so it's not a dabbler special,while at the same time it rewards you for dedicating yourself to melee combat. Just an idea.

excuse you, PISTOLEER gets pistol whip, which means it is a RANGED profession that gets a MELEE attack

yeah we're not ninjas. give us some sort of burst thats a little faster than burst run. or give us speed / ham cost / duration bonuses to the current burst run.

Unless a TKA can move faster than someone else with a weapon, how can we catch
someone who is running away from us, while shooting specials at our0 ranged mitigation. I might consider the definition of a ranged weapon to be that of a gun that fires a projectile or a beam.
Throwing stars, would be like grenades and traps. Those are commado or scout or ranger skills. Why couldn't a TKA or other melee classes, throw stars to hit kiters?

again, like i said. make us move faster rather than giving us another weapon that willl be bugged.

Uh....
WE don't have anything but Lunge1, which is 15m.
