if you have a bleed shot/attack:
1) Get buffed
2) Get 60% +kinetic resistant armour
3) Go to Endor
4) Run Swirl Prong Impaler missions (8900 payout)

these mountain goats will group aggro, which is perfect for bleeding b/c they all come right to you. apply the bleeds, unequip the weapon, and pick one to wail on while the bleeds do their work. these nests net approx 30k+ XP including the lair. In the wild (not from a mission) they net approx 50k+ XP.

if you DON'T have a bleed shot/attack:
1) Get 60% +kinetic resistant armour
2) Go to Endor
3) Run Crazed Gurreck missions (5900-6000 payout)

the gurrecks do not group aggro. they will only attack if you get too close, and that means 5m-10m individually. each mission nets 28k-32k XP including the lair. In the wild (not from a mission) they net approx 50k+ XP.

this method will get you to novice TK in one Buff (2-2.5 hours), so long as you have a friend to show up on Endor and train you as needed.

This requires grouping with a pet or a bot to get the grouping bonus. Group your pet, or bot. Give it the 'stay' command. Go run your missions. It will stay in the outpost while you get major XP. I can get anywhere from 400k-600k XP in one buff set (2-2.5 hours), depending on how many wild nests i find while running missions. YOU DO NOT NEED A TANK. This can be easily executed as a solo thing.

If this works, I owe you a drink, even if I have to create a character on your server. LOL

oh trust me... it works = )

started 10am. 0 unarmed skills. Novice TK at 1pm (i stopped to eat lunch). 3 buffs later, 4/0/0/2 on the TK tree. That's right... it is possible to master TK, or any other melee/ranged elite, 18-22 hours after making novice if you have bleed abilities and good armour. no armour... well... i suggest you get some good armour.

Wookies can prolly do it with no armour b/c of high HAM, but if you are leveling a ranged prof with no melee skills, you're dead meat.

Hey Mor Dan,

Just reached Novice TK and I was wondering with your post can you do it solo (i.e. no creatures no friends. Just you and your vibro knuckles).

yes, i never used a tank of any kind. the only reason you need a pet or bot is for the grouping XP. for example... ungrouped when i kill a crazed gurreck i get just under 3k XP. WITH a pet or bot grouped i get 3645XP. my pet is never with me, it is always 800m-1000m away back at the outpost. i only have it for the added XP granted for being in a group.

Think this will work for a TKM who wants to master fencer as well?

this will work for any melee prof. it is optimized by having a bleed shot/attack of some sort. if you are melee wanting to master a ranged prof, just keep your bleeds till you have to relinquish them. for example, a rifleman could drop the melee bleeds at headshot3. 2-3 shots will take down a crazed gurreck easily.

But won't the bleed damage rollover into pistol xp?

that is correct. bleed dmg doesn't actually register to a weapon until you use a valid attack. say i am fighting a gurreck, approx 5500 HAM. i hit a bleed. the bleed takes the gurreck down to 2k, and i hit it with an unarmed punch. after that, i switch to a pistol and kill the beast with a few body shots. the system will register 3500dmg done by unarmed, 2k dmg done by pistol.

one of the changes made months ago allowed people and animals to bleed to 1hp. early on, it could actually bleed to death, in which if you didn't hit it, you got 0 xp for the kill. NOW, since it stops at 1hp, ANY UNDESIGNATED (regular hit, not a special) REGISTERED HIT will kill the creature/NPC. undesignated hits draw dmg to ALL pools, not pool specific = )

This is the best advice I'veread on the subject of TK leveling, hands-down.

Mor-Dan rocks the house.

I tested method two tonight. I don't have a bleed shot (I'm Master Brawler, Master Medic, and TK 2/2/3/2). I bought some Composite Armor (legs, chest, upper and lower arms - I'm a Trandoshan so no feet or hands, and I couldn't find a helmet) with 58% Kinetic Resistance. Since my HAM bar looks like this:

H - 1050 A - 1000 M - 800
S - 600Q - 300 F - 400
C - 700S - 300W -400

...I couldn't wear all the armor (encumbrance, of course) without a Master Doc buff, which I bought for 10K outside the Coronet starport. I couldn't find a Master Dancer to do a Mind Buff, so I relied on Powerboost and Muon Gold to buff my mind enough to wear the armor. After all that, I hit Endor.

I grabbed two crazed gurreck missions, revved up my landspeeder, and went to work. With the armor/buff setup I used, I was pretty much invincible against these things. They barely aggro at all, soI wasfighting them one at a time (but even if they mass attacked, they didn't scratch me at all). I grouped with a pet (as Mor-Dan suggested) and left him at the base, to maximize XP.

15 minutes later, I was back at thebase, with on average 62,500 more unarmed XP. Rinse, and repeat.

I cannotconceive of a way toaccumulate unarmedXP faster than this.
