well the profession overview of tk and pretty much all the other melee classes and ranged is that you MUST combine it with other combat skills to shine, as in TKA isnt enough just by itself, you need other melee skills to really make it shine.
besides punching something should never be as powerful as swinging a gigantic pike at someones armor.
even with Taijiquan Fajing, punching metal with a fist is only going to break your own hands...

Anythingfive levels above or below you is going to affect damage output and resistance, and is thus not supposed to be solo:ed or tankable. I tanked five Night Sisters yesterday, and then four Bane Back Spiders and three more right after (without getting the chance to get my Mind up inbetween the Bane Back fights).
I held aggro for the entire fights, getting pounded,while my friend bashed away at them with carbine (my PH helped keeping aggro on whatever he was doing his specials on, I even outdamaged him with some of mine). Didn't even break a sweat.
So don't tell me TKM is broke as a tank just 'cause you can't tank a CL94 (or whatever); you're not supposed to be able to do that; and I also don't really buy the whining on the Swordsman board about their damage output either.
As for TKM damage, with the resistance we have I think it's spot on; if you're not happy with it you need to get a complementing profession.
