Hello,

Well I am having some problems PvPing. I am Teras Kasi Master, and thought Id do decent against others in battle. But when I tend to duel or go overt (fully buffed, mind, brandy, ahrisa, moun gold) I still get owned so fast. My mind drops like a fly and my health follows it. My VK's are 65-219 sliced. I use knockdown2 then unarmedhit 3 then either unarmedheadhit or dizzy. But I still loose a lot of health (either from specials or from being owned). Id like to have a nice time Pvping, but so far its not such a great time. Id apreicate some help guys. Thanks

What are your other 158 skill points tied into?

TK doesn't get alot of defense on it's own, so you'll want to pick up a profession that does.

Teras Kasi is one of the hardest hitting professions, but you have to know what you're doing. You can't just spam UAH3 all day long. Keep the target intimidated (novice or master brawler special). Warcry often as well, especially against Jedi. Warcry's been nerfed, but it's still effective enough to use. Keep them stunned and dizzied. If they're dizzied and you lunge or KD them then they'll most likely stay down, unless they're Jedi or Doc, but you'll still have them down for a bit.

You just have to get comfortable with your specials, where they are on your macros/hotkeys/toolbar, and how to use them properly. Practice does a LOT of good here. Go on TK suicide runs just to see what the majority of your opponents throw at you, and learn to counter it.

But above all else, pick up some Defenses with your remaining 158 skill points. Fencer is good to get, but ppl will call you a FotM player.

Also, if you're fully buffed, make sure to get your Focus to 1400, because when it reaches that your specials wont cost you any HAM. Make sure it's 1400 WITH armor on, if you use armor (some of us don't).

Vangerian Canape is very useful for this (around 50 filling food, 10min duration, +700 to both focus and willpower).

Willpower affects how fast you'll regenerate your mind pool. Make sure you pay attention to your secondary stats, and not just the primary HAM size. A lot of ppl make the mistake of not caring about that because doc buffs take care of all but the mind and it's secondaries, but focus and willpower are hugely important.

Yeah, states are our specialty. We can stick dizzy, intimidate, blind, and stun on a guy then knock em to the ground and pummel him. Take advantage.

Stun, blind, dizzy and intimidate are your best friends

Stun and Intim cut your oponent's defenses and damage out put; blind cuts accuracy down; dizzy keeps them on thier ass and keeps them from burst running.

Don't just spam UH3. Try using head, body or leg hit depending on which stat is getting low.

I don't bother with dizzy, I just use KD2 because that includes dizzy.

You forgot a few important hotkeys... Unarmed Stun 1, Unarmed Lunge 1, Unarmed Lunge 2 (if you're a master brawler). Lunge 1 and 2 are on different timers because one is posture down and the other is knock down.

Warcry is nice (especially Warcry 2) but it's of limited use in PvP.

Firstly, always keep those states applied. Intimidation and blind are musts. Dizzy is next on the plate if you are able to get one to stick on them. At this point, you can try a KD or 2 and if neither work, a lunge1 for a posture change. From here I usually go into a headhit since it is the only pool they are incapable of healing with medic (sad that one pool is targeted so much but../shrug). If you see you opponent has a possible whole..such as they aren't wearing pants or a chest plate, be ready to adapt to target the weakest pool.

OK bro I will say what most others are saying....Intimidate is your friend as is Stun, I hear alot of complaints from TK's not being able to hit Fencers Intimidate and stun = TK busting a fencer all up. OK your mind dropping, if it is dropping from specials Ahrisa is your friend along with brandy. If it is Dropping do to rifleman Intimidate burst lunge KD2 head hit this is what I do sometimes if I am in a kiting environment. Also remember to CoB some say it does nothing but trust me It helps, also try to get some ranged defense in your template or even some ranged mitigation

Also, don't forget your Combo moves. Combo 1 uses a lot less HAM and is still pretty effective. Try it in a duel and see if it works better for you.

Unarmed 3 is probably best to stick with after you land the states for sheer damage output, but you may be surprised trying to use Unarmed 2 (or the Combos).

Basically, just play with a few variations. There will always be something that seems to work slightly better for you than others.

I have a Fencer/TKM/Trickshot (Mega defense-stacker melee)alt and I attack the mind pool when I PvP. Attacking health/action is pointless unless you KNOW your enemy has no medic. Fencer, I stick them with my janta knife. That's a 110 tick going on the mind. Then I strap on the VKs and work the head. Applying stun, blind, dizzy, and KD. If the enemy decides to make a run for it, the mind tick will keep them hurting until I catch up to finish the job. You can run-- you'll just die tired.

Bad thing about using the focused pool attacks is the damage x is less. And since everybody is running around in Stun compo helms, most likely sliced to have near 80% or better kinetic, you don't do a hell of a lot of damage. This is why intimidate, stun, and dizzy+KD are key.

Watch out for riflemen spamming HS3. That stuff will rip you up quick.

Looks like you are an armorsmith too. A lot of your points are going into a crafting profession so you dont have that good defenses. I would recommend you buff up with doc buffs, eat food or drink for mind mainly, and heal when your HAM gets low. TKA's alone are hard for PvP unless you can Knock em Down after a dizzy. If you are up against a character that can target mind then they will prob win.

TKA's two weaknesses are inability to target mind effectively, and lack of range. Ranged folks can kite you around all day with no problem. Without lunge 2 (from master brawler)you might not be able to catch up to them. Just make sure your buffed and fully armored, esp a good stun helm.

I kite melee toons around all day. I can usually take folks out that are fully buffed when Im not buffed. The reason is that people dont buff mind too much, and I target only mind. Thus their 4000+ Health or Action is useless when they only have 600 mind to work with. Also my mind is usually Power Boosted to 1600+ without food, AND I can heal what damage I do take.

Wow guys thanks for the positive responds. One reason why I like the TK forums, because it's a postive helping area. Thanks again.
