people are saying they are nerfing defence stacking, however i would have to say that unless they come up with a totally different method of combat that would negate every profession. Plus impacting the game in such a way that i would imagine that it would be easier to rewrite code for a new game than do this...
i for one cant see this being a realistic option and will wait for an official statement than listening to the rumour that someone started because they couldnt beat a defence stacker with their 'ubar' weaponry

Does anyone know how they are changing things? Are they going to nerf it or what? I love tk to the death in this game, and having the extra defenses is nice, but in having that i lose out on damage with all the high 80's and 90% armor out there. I am just wondering if I should change my template a bit or wait it out. Any information is appreciated

Those who know cannot say, so hold your horses and wait for the announcements from the devs.

I have a feeling it just wont be stackable
For instance
A TKM/Pistoleer would get the pistol defense
What ever the highest one is is what you get

well that would be extremely unfortunate for the game and i say this not as a D satacker but as someone that believes that 'dabbling' is the way that you make up for the template that costs you more time to make you strong.
as i have said before TKM alone is weak but then level more to compliment your main profession and you have your strong character that quite rightly should be strong, you use all your points you should deserve to kick ass.

I agree
Combat revamp is mainly to appease the people who flat out blow at this game and cry nerf everytime they get beat

I would also like to add {censored} and {censored}

No, the combat upgrade is for people who are tired of having to lump themselves into set templates to compete in PvP. You know, the defense stacker, the DoT whore, the looted weapon champion, or some combination of the three.

Maybe it'll make some professions useful that currently are not. That's a pretty good reason.

I think that there are professions that need some tweeking because they are weak unless they are mixed with others. To totally get rid of defense stacking would be an injustice that this game can't afford have happen.

I dont really care, i guess. I personally like being just a tkm (well, picked up cm recently too)....but point being i like the fact that i chose not to stack in my template.
Its fun to try and come up with a strategy on how to beat a stacker. Its definatley hard but not impossible. You can actually mimick a lot of stacker abilities just by eating and drinking foods/drinks and using your specials.
Nerf stacking, dont nerf stackin...it doesnt really matter. In my opinion, if you cry nerf I think you should just re-evalute how you play YOUR template. Use different startegies or eat different food and will work just as good.
Keep on keepin on.
