Thread: Need a little info on TK in the Star Wars Universe (RP)
Heya guys. I love TK. I love RPing. I love RPing a TK. Or, what I think is a TK. The truth is, I'm not sure what exactly a TKA is according to the Star Wars Universe. Right now I'm RPing as a simple martial artist, but I know TK is more than, I just don't know how. For instance, what is the relationship like with TK students and TK masters? Is it an academy? Is it simple apprenticeship? A mix? I'm at a loss and I've searched Google for info but all I get is moves for that crappy PS2 game. I think it was PS2, not sure on that one, but it was a stupid game nonetheless. I doubt that Tusken Raiders were "Masters of Teras Kasi"
Anyway, if any of your loremasters out there could give me a hand, or just point me to some URLs I'd be forever grateful. Thanks in advance guys.

I to have been able to find out very little and only from that old playstation fighting game. The main starwars website dosnt even acknowledge teras kasi in its databank so who knows. Maybe this will help some.

Her skills as one of the last teräs käsi masters has attracted the attention of the Emperor and Darth Vader, who have assigned her to track down and take out key Rebel Alliance personnel. Arden, however, has her own agenda

I guess if you wanted to really RP it, you could consider yourself a much lesser form the a true Teras Kasi, maybe consider our current TK situation as a mere fragment of what the Teras Kasi truely once were. A true Teras Kasi was a force sensitive who used their inner powers instead of drawing on the Force of all living things. A true TK Master was a force for ANYTHING to afraid of, even full fledge Jedi Masters.
So pretent that our current TK situation is perhaps the remains of the true TK knowledge and power, that we're working off little bits of knowledge about our true skills, or that we've only learned the areas of Teras Kasi that were basics of defense and attack.

Teras Kasi so far as in all official Canon of the Expanded Universe is writen, is a normal standard Martial Arts for human and near human species.
There is no official book that mentions there hostility against jedi, or that they where created to fight jedi, or that that stand watch to over the jedi.
Teras Kasi are not force sensitive, nor do they use some kind of raw form of the force.
A few stories have been floating around, and although they tell a tempting history painting us as secret heros of justice bla bla bla bla... so far there is NO cannon sourcebook or book to be found that confirms these stories. They where most likely writen by pen and paper RPers to spice up there universe, and have little to do with the reality of Teras Kasi. Also game statistics in the RP game suggest nothing special about this martial art.
So far know, the people who invented Teras Kasi are the followers of Palawa, monks. They belong to a people that was force to leave there homeworld as there own world was devastated, why/how is unknown till this date.
The FOP train outsiders in the martial arts, there is even a Jedi Master who is also a Teras Kasi Master.
Teras Kasi takes there moves from animals that live troughout the galaxy of SW. In this respect it has borowed a lot from Kung Fu and the Shaolin.
Although its not so glorious history as some would want, it leaves a lot of avenues for you to RP.
For those who are intrested, yes there are also martial arts for those who are force sensitive, Mutakai is one of those.

Yeah I have that link as a sig hehe.
It gives at least some background we can work on.
I would like to point out that the info in that link was created by someone running a pen and paper campaign of Star Wars. It is not official in any way, and while a good story it should not be considered official material to refere to. Thats all.
Makes me think a bit of Highlander theme, with the watchers there who seemingly where just observing the immortals.
But with all "there" (TK) power i wonder who is watching the watchers.....
But all that beside the only think that bugs me is that there are a bunch of people using it to say we as TK need more power. I think the only thing we need is get our cob fixed and we would be doing all right, except maybe some tinkering on some moves. There is not much more they can increase in power to make us unbalanced.
Only thing they might wana work on is giving the marksman professions a much lower hit chance while running. Hey we can dream can we :-)

for my character i kinda use a alternate version of the jedi story.Instead of following the normal tka way my character wishes to study the force and how the jedi use it.
what the??I wasn't done?Oh well. SO i dont really follow the story that we are some kind of super beings and watchers.I just took parts of if and put it into my character.Speaking of which if any of you are from kauri I am starting a melee guild.
