Nope, you're not. I don't use my knucklers at all unless I have a super mind buff from several sources. Even when I do, I usually don't as I like the flavor of fighting unarmed. Vibroknucklers look too much like blades and kill the immersion for me. I've bumped into other TKA masters on Starsider that avoid using the knucklers as well.

I used to not use knucks. for the same resons. But they have saved my life more than really hurt me (i do need the mind buff, but that's okay. double brandy + music buffs = no ham cost.) it's nice, spamming uahit3 till the sun comes and goes. very nice stuff =)

It's almost like being invincible.

well i guess its safe to asy i am the onyl TKM who never.. ever uses knucks....

i hate the things... its unarmed combat and i mean to use UNARMED COMBAT... no weapons just my hands and feet..

that might put me at a huge disadvantage but ya know what for the sake of what i think the profession should be i am willing for that to be so...

By the time your a TKM your faster without knucklers than you are with em unless they have insanely low speed (around 1.3ish attack speed)

You gain AP1 and depending on your knucks, you get a dmg increase. I have a 229 DMG Vk so it significantly raises my dmg. Of course at master you don't want speed VK's (even though i have a 1.1 sp set but you want dmg. Its almost foolish to enter PVP w/out a VK, we're bad enough composite suits as it is, let alone w/out the benefits of ap1.

wait you can lower the speed cap using VKs lower than 1.3 sp at master?

I don't need knucklers because of the trando bonus but they help.

Master Smuggler and master TKA maybe master pistoleer but who knows how long it will before I finally switch from unarmed.

All TKMs will attack at once per second, regardless of special, weapon speed, or whether they use VKs or not.

I don't know about you guys but all I do is wear my composite armor, get buffed, Drink brandy, eat canape, bust out with my 215 damage VK, then whup butt until the cows come home. I can take on 95% of PvE combat. The other five percent are the 100% kinetic resist or special event NPCs. I've killed so many enraged rancors at one time that a mountain wasdeclairedbecause of the corpses.

LOL I like that last part. For me depends really. I got in the habbit of using them so I kind set up in auto pilot when I switch from fencer I just equip them. I'd have to say unbuffed just killing stuff i don't use them. Special costs unbuffed sucks with them. I have to heal twice as less and most stuff that I would fight unbuffed can be taken down just fine without them.

No offense to the poster but thisidea is posted every day and discussed every day. The outcome of every post is this:


Unarmed can use weapons that enhance you damage but don't change your fighting style. Brass knuckles are an unarmed weapon because you fight with them exactly the same as if you fight without them, your style doesn't change. Therefore, your VKs don't change your fighting style, only enhance it.
