I have done TKM/CM (well all of CM except the crafting line, not enough sp) and all I can say is its worth it depending on if you like raids or pvp alot.

I found it extremely helpful for me as I like to pvp.

I could heal all my mates with 1 toss of a glow rod and at the same time poison and desease the opponents, it was great Im on my way to grinding it back actually.

Also its a great ranged attack, considering we are TKA.

I can throw a poison an desease, run around buildings all day and let them chase me, then when they pop around the corner POW!!! right in the kisser!!! ya can kd em, smack em a bit, no need for a dizzy since the poisons are taking effect.

Most fun part is area poisoning a bunch of em, then run into a building, they will all chase, as soon as they come in just kd them all, have to be quick an selecting them, kd them one by one as fast as ya can then use spin attack2.

I love it

Who needs buffs when CM gives you healing, party healing, terrain negotiation, poisons and deseases?

Apply those with a bit of tactics and youll be havin the time of youre life!

Bad part is having to buy the stuff.....aint cheap

Guess i could take up the crafting side, but harvestors, maintenence, crafting ewwwww I wouldnt be able to handle it.

It took me 10 minutes to kill a TK/doc last night. He had no armor except a killer helm. Good thing I brought my Jawa rifle. Tough part was getting him out into the open long enough to use it. One of the best PvPers on our server (Soylentred) is a TK/doc, and he is one mean mother**edit**er.

Also recently ran into a TK/CM. With a devestating mind poison, that combo is very lethal. It basically depends on whether you want to go with more offense or defense.

TK/doc = self-buffs, instant heals, and mind-drain being your only real concern.

TK/CM = AoE poisons/diseases for ranged, plus fists/VKs to finish them off.

Either one is quite scary.

I was TKM and had to go CM for a holocron. Glad I did. After all this holo stuff is over, that will be my final build: TKM/CM 4-4-0-4. I love healing others' mind and then meditating off the mind wounds.

I am not sure if this will hijack the thread or not, but:

I am thinking of going this route now. I am a TKA/MD, but I am getting drawn ever closer to the CM thing. I was wondering, what Human Stats would be optimal for TKM/CM 4-4-0-4?

I just made TKA novice last night and I love it so far. You say combat medic has terrain negotiation? I dont see that in the skills but maybe I am looking at an old skill tree. Can you please let me know how combat medic gets terrain negotiation as I am not familiar with that profession. Thanks in advance.

We don't care, we don't have to care. We're SOE.

I tried making this stretch.. IMHO it's not really worth it.

First.. forget about CM's in pve. I'm sure some cm's have a great deal of patience to drop poison on something and wait for it's 10k HAM to go to nothing... If your talking Krayt... poison is laughable. I'm not sure how long it would take but somewhere on the scale of 3 - 4 hours is my guess. I doubt you could avoid kill stealing for that period of time.

No one with a clue becomes a CM to become more uber at pve.. that just insane.

TKA/CM in pvp? Although I'm sure some people play it, find it fun and great..... it's not terribly optimal. Your either going to be a subpar tka, or a subpar CM.... And neither profession is really benefiting the other or complementing weakness or strengths.

TKA biggest weakness... range... throwing poison isn't going to help you close that gap.. will only cause your opponent to run even faster. And if you were close.. why bother with poison when you can db them in 5 seconds or less?

CM biggest weakness? lack of range.... the farther away we are and the more gap we can put between those we poison and ourselves the better. Poison and disease take 1 - 2 mins to really work they're magic... most pvp in the combat classes don't last that long... so a CM to really put his stuff to use has to be able to survive against an opponent for that time period...... So maybe you then go tka to survive that period... but then did you really need the poison anyway??

If your gonna mix CM with any combat... it should be a ranged profession. Pistols are always a great choice of course... carbines even...

Ultimately to each his own, my only point is you don't really get the bang for your SP.

If you have a combat character entirely capable of killing someone in 5 - 10 secs.. why bother with1 - 2 min cm stuff?? If you want to kill 20 - 30 in 1 - 2 mins... then frontline combat isn't really gonna be your thing...

TKM/Doctor would be my choice. btw...

Although... after spending a full weekend buffing tka's and watching they're minds fail on them... I seriously question the usefullness of even that combo. Sure you cna buff yourself but your mind is gonna give out anyway hehe

And doctor isn't giving you any more dmg types. A mtka can kill plenty of things, but when faced with armored high kinetic resistant mobs... doctor is only allowing you to throw more bad attack dmg at something. Not really helping you kill it faster... just allowing you to be even more foolish than you may be normally. hehe.

I think the terrain negotiation is in the support line, last line on the right, all the boxes have +10 terrain negotiation, and a burst run bonus in the 4th.

Another important thing that makes TKA/CM worthwhile is in raids its pretty comon for everybody to be wearing armor, and running into them and kd them all is gonna be alot of work.

Thats where poisons and deseases come into play. Armor doesnt resist poisons but it resists kinetic damage

AE disease, my friend. AE disease. Combat medics are devastating in PvP, especially if the opposition does not have a high level Doctor around who can cure. Sure you can take down one target faster, but can a TKM keep an entire group on their butts healing ina cantina for 10 minutes?

But you are correct in saying that TKM/CM is not the most "optimal" skill point allocation. You have a wasted line of Ranged Support just sitting there. However, for many people professions are about Fun rather than Optimizing. And TKM/CM has been the most fun TKM combination I have ever tried (other combos I tried were TKM with Pistoleer, Doctor, Squad Leader, Dancer, and Swordsman). And Fun is the bottom line.
