Thread: A farewell to Teras Kasi
/agree TKM is pretty useless offensively, so if you're still trying to solo, it's not the way to go. However, I've grouped the last 2 nights (will not voluntarily go back to solo now, grouping is so much more fun), and TKM is the best (PvE). I'm in charge of the group. I grab the creature, bring it to the group, they kill it while I keep it under control and yet, I still get full xp because in a group, all you have to do is hit it once and you get your full xp.
Sounds like you like PvP as well, so TKM is not good for you as a sole Combat profession. I also hold M. Swords, so if I need the offense, it's there even though I don't care for PvP.
Best of luck Veg... I will say I might have some news on one thing you mentioned later tonight, the Dev tracker might be looking a bit empty as you might notice.
Back on topic best of luck man, & thankyou for all you have done in terms of Alpha & so on.

Hi ppl
This answers my question which I posted on the forum elsewhere before reading here lol. My question being, why am I now only getting 4XP for killing the same as i did pre-cu. The answer is the "combat level". Im 80 so I guess 80+ enemy I then would get what I used to.
But this can only be achieved now I understand not bygoing solo but by groupingI'm not against interaction, I'm a sociable person. But this isn't fair to say the least "having to be grouped" to get XPnow, infactI find it an insult tbh. Should be fun grinding now for my FS Trees. If I want to get XP I should be able to as and when I want to, I shouldn't have to rely on other ppl to form a group !
Anyway, how do I get my XP if there isn't a hunting group when i'm online. If I am wrong about this matter plz let me no as I could be !
I have solo'd once and grouped 3 times since CU. As I said earlier, I really enjoy groups and I always wanted to group before the CU, but as a TKM / M. Swords, other people just got in the way by taking up all my xp (I'm FS grinding as well). As for post-CU, you can still do both. You just need to know what to do.
Solo'ing: Take your own lvl missions (give or take 1 or 2lvls), but go after NPC's, not creatures. I'd do the Dantooine Janta(?) or Korgamissions (I forget their names). Another is to take the advise above and do Faction missions. These missions, if you're by yourself, will only have 2, maybe 3, per mission and they almost always only aggro you one at a time (solo grouping is not suggested). I was fighting one Korga and the other came up to me and sat down, waiting forhis turn to die! This will give you the ability to solo, but the xp will be slow because you're spending most of your time going to and from missions. XP is based on your lvl. For every one lvl above yours, you get a 10% xp bonus, but the same works inversely, every lvl below yours, you lose 10%.
Grouping: We had 5 of us last night and we were able to take lvl 82 missions with ease. With the entertainment buff which gives you an additional 10% xp per kill, 20% xp bonus for doing lvl 82, and the double xp for this week,we were getting just over 14k xp per kill, and each lair was spawning 30 or more. You do the math.
I got 900k UA xp in 45-50 minutes.
Yes all well and good if you can find a group going on a hunt to get good XP. Yes you can solo as you said but I shouldn't have to get missions and run around everywhere. Its silly! And time consuming
My point was you shouldn't have to group.

Well, this isn't a complain about CU thread. Just want to say goodbye to TKM.
I have been Teras Kasi Master as far back as I can remember in this game. It was about 3 months after launch that I finally achieved TKM. Back then it was difficult because we didn't really know all the tricks to advance faster. TK took most people about a month to "grind" out.
We walked everywhere, mounts and bikes hadn't been introduced yet. I picked up TKM and Doctor to be self-sufficient and make my toon self reliant. I truly enjoyed it.
I held many Melee Fight Clubs (before Jedi FC's started) and met many good fighters and had a lot of fun at the sametime. I've tanked in just about every dungeon and used my TKM abilities to further my collection of rare and exotic items.
Now, that has changed. The CU has brought about many changes, some good, most bad. TKM is no longer what I enjoy. The loss of the animations and the introduction of the "Combat Level" system means that TK is no longer viable as a stand-alone combat profession. This means I have to adapt to survive.
The good thing is it means I will be doing something new after 18 months of my beloved profession. I have completely left the Melee disciplines. Back in the day I had toyed with BH (which was nerfed shortly after I hit Investigation 3, mind you this was LONG before Jedi existed on any server). I am going to follow my other dream. That is too be a Bounty Hunter and finally become a ranged killer.
I still probably won't bother hunting Jedi, those guys have it bad enough right now as it is. But, BH has taken the place of TKM in the world of tanking. The ability to deal out damage while staying alive. I am a Content Hunter and these skills are neccesary for me.
Mankind and Ryutek, you guys have done an excellent job with the TKM Boards andeveryone appreciates all you have done for this profession. It has been an honor to be a part of this profession and to be a part of the "sandbox team". I apologize if I wasn't available to test as much as I could have.
Thanks for all the memories, battles, and good times. Hopefully I'll never have to hunt any of you down... LMAO!!!!
I have an alt that is TKA/DOC, and I haven't had any problems soloing missions. what we lack in offense we make me in defense. from the playing I've done I've yet to die with my tka., maybe i've been lucky. try ti hang in there, I believe in this game, I think the cu is a step in the right direction. I am willing to wait and see what happens.
good luck to you either way,.
