Thread: People cry NERF TKA, but seriously people...it's a decent profession
OK, one on one, a TKA can get it pretty easy, as can 2 on 1 etc. ... It depends on what you use ...
One thing ranged players are learning, is getting less damage weapons, and suplementing for accuracy ... make a big difference ....
Another is... I have fought other TKAs, and lost to 2 out of 20 now ... 1 was my stupidity .. other caught off guard ..
I have won this way too.... I also have had 2 fights with a swordsman and a TK ... lasted 15min no winners ...
Now, why is my character hard to beat ? cause hes a TKA ?
NO .. cause I am a master DOC with every state heal, poison etc. ... so i am dizzied .. fixed, set on fire .. fixed, poisoned ....
People that whine about TKA are morons that have NIL in the skills department ...
These idiots need to spend money on stuff and practise ... I have a lot of money for range defences, dodge, and in foods, spices etc ...
For example, I find the best VKs .. sliced to 194-201 damage, then a power up ...
I then add my knockdown and damage foods, then my mind drinks ... save spice as last resort ..
That part of how to win, these idiots crying nerf need a life and need to grow up !

I disagree with just about everything in your post. You say "And i really think that that's it. As in term of damage output, they are good but swordsman can kill things quicker." Swordsman don't start outdamaging TKA's unless the targets have medium armor and are above 30% kinetic resists. Since "unarmed" damage applies to viboknucklers as well, TKA's consistantly outdamage me against light armored targets such as crazed geonosians. All classes except for Riflemen, Fencers and Combat Medicshave hard times against dealing with opponents in 80 %composite armor. TKA is fotm for a reason. It is the most unbalanced melee class. Admit it! You did not sign up for Teras Kasi because of thoseannoying red trails, yousigned up because you knew it was powerful.
I'm a swordsman as well as TKA, and I can't understand why every swordsman around, well, most that I have seen anyway, run around with a hugely damage sliced power-hammer with 5.4 speed and an accuracy of -31 to -40. In terms of damage,it's huge...if you hit your target.
On Eclipse, Lotok,a Master Weaponsmith decided to experiment on hammers and got a range of -8 range modifiers, which had lower damage, about 5.4 speed, but were very successful in PvP. Ok..I admit I don't have the math to prove it, but the fact that he sold out every time he put them on sale should say something about them.
When I made my Scythes, learning from Lotok's experiences above, I sacrificed damage for accuracy ensuring that my Scythes have a + to range modifiers. So, with my speed mods, I now cap on speed, and basically never miss with the Scythe. Ok...granted, most scythes come out at around -2 to +2 with crafted cubes if crafted by a competent weaponsmith. And a Master Swordsman with his +75 speed modifier would cap on speed either at a level of +83 or so, or with a Scythe at about 2.2 (most scythes tend to come out at 2.5 standard). These numbers are from memory, but I am sure I am not far off.
The point I am trying to make here is that each profession must really look into how to make themselves the most effective. In the case of the Swordsman, the highest damage is not necessarily the best, since your speed modifiers are so slow. Using the standard dps calculator, a speed sliced powerhammer seems to be much better especially with the effects of mitigation. Plus, you do damage if you hit your target, so improve on the accuracy of the weapon, or your personal accuracy with tapes and such.
TKM's do huge damage with VK's. That cannot be denied. But they also can incap themselves with them. The same applies to Commandos.
The easiest thing for the other melee professions to ask the devs for, is not to give you higher damage, or a more uber weapon, but a shorter delay modifier across your specials. And this, they could do easily if they wanted to.
Also, just to let you know, most people who play teras kasi suck, no joke, they really just are bad at pvp. At 2122, I dueled against 3 different TKMs, and i beat them all. I am also a master doc. As a master swordsman, I was only beaten once by a TKM, who actually knew how to pvp, being able to hit their mind for 100-300 damage a hit and never miss with a scythe is really awesome, swordsman aren't bad at pvp at all.
Finally, a fencer who knows how to use his proffesion will just about never lose in pvp.
Just my 2 cents.
For a normal Scythe, the swordman is already almost at his speed cap. Only takes one or two cheap +3 speed tapes to cap it. For a hammer at 5.4 speed, speed cap is attained at +93. This is calculable.
I only switch to unarmed when I am in trouble, cos the TK's unarmed defence is a bit better. It gives me a chance to run like hell and survive...
