Thread: Do you guys and gals rly wants rks?

This has probobly been discussed before but...


Im just wondering if all you tks out there rly want rks. When I first found out about them I was pumped that we would have a new damage type but now that ive been a tk a little longer and have realized our profession is balanced, unique and a heck of a lot of fun. I personally feel that having another damage type would be great but that tk would be nerfed if we get it. I dont want tk to be nerfed. Its a good profession and I dont think a second damage type especially heat, is worth the nerf. Now I know people would like these because they look cool and would be a cool item to collect but is it worth a nerf. This idea is lame but maybe the rk could be made into a kinetic weapon. If you think about it the rk will be very very hard to get and so will berarely used in pve. Wil this stop the devs from nerfing us? I dont know. That to me is the question. If they will I say no rk if they wont I say hell yeah. I would like to here everyone elses thoughts on the matter, thanks for reading

You make a good point, but if we don't want to have a new dmg type, all 100% kinetics should be nerfed to 90% or something, else it's no fun. I can take out a whole ns cave, but I can't even touch the elder, a bit weird no?

yeahI agree with you there, but heat damage wouldnt help us with the elder anyways . Also kinetic has lots of high resists to it in pvp but few 100% resists. The only I can think of Nightsister elders and malkloc plainswalkers.

TBH no i think it will still unbalance us as we are every balanced now , but i like the idea medatate ,are giving us AP2 at master

I'd say if they nerf those 100% kinetic things to 90-95 I actually don't bother abou those, but I would want more VK's, just for the art and collection and maybe an AP2 at master...

I refuse to accept a new weapon just to cover up the game's flawed mechanics.



They need to accept the fact that 100% resists are plain stupid, and used improperly in this game. The concept that creatures and NPC's exist with 100% resists, means them lying down, getting punched in the face with a blade does zero damage to them.


They need to fix overall combat, new damage types will not help.

Why not just give a weapon attachment that can change damage type? Like a conversion kit or something, a rare loot or something new for the weaponsmiths to craft.
Cold = Has coolant tubing running evenly through the weapon to cool projectiles and blades or whatever, has guard to avoid freezer burn.
Heat = Heating coils run through the weapon dispensing heat damage, has proper guard for wearer to avoid burns
Electricity = Small powerplant hooked up to the blade causing electric damage, has proper guarding for player.

You get the drift, I'm just running out of ideas to apply directly here.

Why not just add certain damage types with the meditation line that you can use while meditating ( Like powerboost)


You channel your energy intoyour fists to cause different damage then the basic kinetic and it only affects unarmed combat ( Removing meddlers from gaining other damage types with say a scythe)


Make the "buff" last up to a total of say 5-7 minutes at Master TKA and after the time limit you go back to kinetic damage until re-channeling your energies into your fist


Just an idea .. It wont give us Vibro knuckle dps with AP1 ... We will have AP0 and unarmed dps but with only different damage ( heat , stun , blast , cold etc


Would add a certain flavor to TKM in pvp and pve

I meant my previous statement as a boost for everyone but I guess this is the response I get for trying to help one problem with a solution to several.

If it were to be a weapon kit then all combat types would have to get it .. Both melee and range ..


It could work though .. good idea

I'll answer this question as fairly as possible, andas un-biased as possibleThis is from someone who has had an RK basically ever since they have existed in the game.


I play on Test Center, andI have my own RK (91-256 damage, or something around there, sliced, about a 24% damage slice). I was able to get a schematic and have it crafted before they were removed from the loot tables.I never PVP simply because PVP is nearly non-existant there. That being said, there aren't very many MOBs out there that have low Heat resists (typically it's just as high if not higher than Kinetic on some MOBs). I don't use it for high-end PVEstuff because you're standing there beating on it for 5 minutes, even in a big group, and that is hard on weapons. I've went through a number of VK's and Scythes just from getting the schematic in the DWB.


The components are too rare to use these for every day use, so you don't use them for low-end PvE that may have low or no Heat protecton. That leaves one thing, PVP, which is non-existant where I have my RK. A lot of PVPers have 90% base composite on Live servers, so you're being resisted as much with an RK as you are with a VK. It is possible to get a VK that does just as much damage as my RK.


The looks ...well, in my opinion RK's look very bulky. Doesn't fit the profession.I personally prefer the looks of the regular VK. It looks more like a weapon a Martial Artist would use.


To sum it up ... I don't even use my RK. It has been sitting in my inventory without being used for the past several months, simply because the components to make them are so rare, and I don't want to wear it out.


Those are my thoughts ... take it as you will.
