Well, tried it this weekend...and death was the result.

Man, I was totally prepped and they REAMED me!

I was doing fine, until I aggro'd 3 sentinals. I wasn't scared though, 2400+ buffs all around, Master Dancer and Musician Buffs, Double shot 400+ Vasarian Brandy, 40% Synthsteak...and 1 dead TKM. I had 80% Kenetic armor, and they were NOT using stun weapons, but dealing 100+ damage per hit...REALLY fast.

Do I need to find some better Comp armor? Is there a better attack plan? I tried using my state macro and KD2/UH3 But they laid me out...I lasted long enough to get 1 almost down.

I am Master Brawler, Master TK, Pike 2/2/2/3, 2/0/0/0 Medic, 0/0/4/0 Scout (I hunt a LOT for docs/tailors). I should not have had a problem (not that bad at least) with just 3 sentinals.

There are at leastcouple of reasons why the fight may not have gone so well. The first reason, your damage per second (DPS) as a TK isnt ready for 3 fo the games "higher" end mobs like the sentinels. Sentinels are AR1, with 35% effectiveness vs. Kinetic. This means that your VK is significantly reduced in its firepower. Which means the battle will last a lot longer than you want. Not because your not a great tank...but, because in any conditions the longer the battle, the more likely any tank will be overcome. Secondly, Sentinels arent afraid of using force powers to go along with their hefty attacks... and composite is not of any assistance in this case.

The normal (but not exclusive)method of solo'ing such mobs is to use swordsmen or pike in the template as the DPS is much higher.

I'm leaning on the gloves/boots thing. I'm tkm/medic and I can take on sentinels with no problem. In fact, they're fairly easy in comparison to some of hte other ones...spellweavers I can take on 2 at a time (though it's a bit rough), and I can solo a single protector. Two protectors whoop me, though. Regardless, sentinels aren't that tough, so I'm guess your lack of armor is your problem.

Lack of armor isn't really the issue. Gloves/Boots do nothing for me, and are completely useless. I NEVER get hit for more than "normal" damage.

They just do too much too fast...Maybe it was the force powers...shouldn't be though. I need to find some HEAVY comp armor though...just for when I am buffed. I normally wear my light-as-hell Nightsister comp. It takes a whoopin but doesn't nail my stats while I fight unbuffed.

I had no problems damage wise though...I was dishing it out. I use 70-191 damage VKs, which is pretty good (I am contracting for better ones, I have about a dozen nym motors). And my pikes suck butt right now...I am trying to get a good one from the ns cave (reason for the need to kill with tk).

I have read a LOT on the forums about killing them, and TKs take damage betterthan swords or pike; they just don't dish it as fast (Good VKs can still dish it though)

At least with TK I don't have to use tapes to speed cap. (another reason to fight in ns caves, I need the loot)

With Trandoshans, gloves and boots should not be an issue. Trandos actually get damage bonuses in melee for not having gloves, due to their claws. I think this gentleman just bit off more than he could chew. Happens to all of us.

I agree, i think those 3 just had my #. I keep hearing that I should have had some difficulty, but they should not have killed me...

I am still going to get some max base Comp armor though. JUST for when I am buffed. Anyone know the max? Is it 80% or 90% sliced?

Trando's may get a small bonus to damage for not wearing boots or gloves, but there are only 4 pieces of armor that matter anymore and boots and gloves make up half of them. Just because you can do more damage to them doesn't mean they can't whack you back really hard. Night Sisters can hit extremely hard when they hit an armor hole. Or like someone said, just because they aren't jedi's doesn't mean they won't use force powers.

True, but it was the high speed, constant a$$ whooping that killed me. I lasted nearly 2 minutes. Never saw a 200 or better hit, just lots of upper 100 damage hits. 3 of them, hitting 1/second for roughly 300 damage per second...no way anyone can stand that for too long. If it wasn't for my CoB macro...I would have died in 10 seconds flat...

And I never saw force powers either...or bleeds. They just beat me with an ugly stick (all three had axes)

keep in mind that for trando's, instead of needing chest, helmet, gloves and boots, we need chest, helmet, bracers and leggings to cover all damage
