I grinded through 4 painful one handed skills in brawler, same as I did with Tk. The same amounts on exp required on both sides, same amount of work, time, effort. And yet, fencer has no Defense Acuity, Fencer can't hit any HAM bar, fencers cant heal all of their own wounds in a minute of meditation.
TK's can dodge just as good as I can when using COB, they dont have to deal with the gaffi stick's health costs or the stun batons insane mind costs. Teras Kasi is unquestionably the best melee profession and I dont understand WHY. its the EXACT same amount of exp as all of the other melee professions.
Maybe I'm just tired of looking at VK's. But I have a suggestion to maybe help everything out.
Ok, either take away TK's defense Acuity or give it to all of the other melee profs too...
I can deal with their ability to hit any HAM bar, whatever...
But Meditation, this is bad. Would it be SOOOOO out of the question to maybe take it out of TK and make it it's own profession? That means that TKM's would have to be dedicated melee to master meditation and combat. Also that any other melee prof could meditate to heal poison, wounds, bleed without sacrificing all those skillpoints to master TK. Give meditate a handful of unique skills in addition to powerboost and force of will.
Make the Meditation Profession's requirements something like any one of the melee profs at lvl 4 brawler? Maybe even Master Brawler? This makes sense. It's unfair to the other melee professions.

TKA can't do much damage to any single pool unlike fencer who get a really powerful health hit. TKA has no bleed ability. TKA doesn't have any area state attacks unlike fencer which can blind a group of opponents at once (really nice, I loved doing that as fencer). Defense acuity is a benefit? It sucks and hardly ever goes off. As a fencer with CoB I can dodge over and over and over. TKA also doesn't have access to a stun weapon, we're stuck with kinetic and if someone has 100% kinetic resist we just can't fight them.

I've grinded through both TK and fencer, and TKA is much worse when it comes to HAM costs than fencer. With fencer I can get away with a few food buffs, that won't work with TKA.

Do you even know what defense acuity is? It's what TKA gets because they don't get a real dodge, or block, or counterattack. It doesn't go off nearly as often as a real dodge/block/counter. Taking away real evasion skills from other melee professions and giving them defense acuity would *nerf* them.

Yes. It is completely out of the question. Meditation is what defines TKA. If you were to take it away though, you'd have to give TKA all the things that it is lacking that all the other melee professions have... More weapons, some bleed attacks, an area of effect state attack, and a really good single pool attack.
Of all the people to complain about how overpowered a TKA is, the last person should be a fencer. Your defense puts every single other profession to shame. As long as we're talking nerfs, how about taking away some of your defenses to balance you out huh?

Ninja your post reminded me of a dirty trashbag. If tkas had a stun baton attached to their fist.. maybe you could argue.

TKA's have pretty good defenses.....most people just don't realize it.

tka has really good defenses? they do have good defenses, but a Fencer should not be complaining about a tkm's defenses, fencers have it much better defensively.

point of the matter is that Fencers have the best defences, TK is next, then swords, and pike sucks on defence unless maxed block. Fencers have a stun wep, nobody else does...
If a fencer is complaining about TK they are crazy, but thenagain i know many Fencer/TKMs that cant EVER be hit...so do both and shut up

I'd willingly sacrafice Meditation(very very cool ability to me) if we'd get some decent state defences (especially KD + dizzy)and a working CoB. As someone pointed out Fencers can dodge a hell of alot of attacks so they probably don't even need to wear armour (except maybe a helmet) vs a Teras Kasi, and then theirs Teras Kasi who can dodge what 1 attack in what could be 20 attacks.
What if we dumped the meditation line(really wish we'd not have to but you'll see my point in a sec)for a line of Defence acuitiy that works or some state defences? Then people would probably dabble in TK just for our defence lines. Hence why i propose at master Teras Kasi we get all of our defence Vs States.
Hmm nerf is the right word but Teras Kasi isn't what comes to my mind.

Wiith all those dot weapons out there now Meditationsaves me time, money and from annoyance. Just because you havent got it dont ask for it to be taken away from us. How would you like it if we went to the fencer forum and asked for you best features to be taken away like your insane dodge (no way do we dodge as good as a fencer, if at all) and you stun baton?
Plus for an extra 20 skill points you could be a fencer (with those great defense abilities) and pick up meditaion 4 whichs offers the same rewards as medtaing as a TKM.

I think DA is working. I can see on the combat window that I dodge/counter/block occassionally. Also, I make evade-motions while in combat ... but this does NOT show in combat window. This shows as a MISSED attack.
These evade-motions should look familar to those who have seen boxing. Jabs and Straight can be evaded by tapping them away from their intended target. I personally think it is very cool.
One suggestion ... SOE people should give themselves some credits and let those evasion show on the combat window.
Blah-Blah attacks you but you shrug it off
Blah-Blah attacks you but you tap it away
Blah-Blah does Bleh but never connects
Something like these. I dont know Boxing terminology to give you better example.
