it boggles my mind to think that people have this near god-like opinion of what tk's should be able to do. i dont know where everyone gets this idea from...maybe from the eu and i havent ever read or heard of it. but, why dont people realise that ranged weapons have a total "reality" reason for being stronger in pvp? they shoot! lasers! fire! acid! we hit with fists!!!!!!! yeah yeah, in close combat tk should own, but when they are not close to you and shoot you with a laser you should die! remember this game is all about being as beleiveable and true as possible. it would be insane to have fist fighters runing around killing ranged fighters like ants. its not beleiveable.

to all those game haters, i come to think most of them LOVE pvp and this game isnt set up for pvp as much as other online games have been...and i say horay! that was one thing that turned me off to other games.

i spend 10 hours a day playing this game on the weekend and love every second of it. for what i have seen its ground breaking in almost every way. yeah there were bugs at the begining but u are kiding yourself if u think the other online games u are waiting for wont have them either.

I am one of those people who is ok with being at a disadvantage to Ranged as long as it is within reason.

What you don't understand is that games arent meant to reflect reality necessarily. If a TK was meant to get killed 100% of the time by ranged fire in a game thatwas meant to bedominated by ranged fire then why create the TK at all and market the profession as a viable one asmeans to collect another $15 a month?

The whole ranged vs. melee reality argument is moot. This is a game based in a fictional world whith characters that have fictional abilities..plain and simple. I think most Melee and folks have a legit argument about ranged vs melee combat in the context of the game itself.

WhenI want to interact withing the context of reality, I log off SWG.

If you want realism, turn off your computer and breath... No games are 100%realistic, they're made to be fun and sometimes, reality isn't all that fun. TKA's should notbe able to kill a person that's 64 metres away, but when we can get close enough, we should. And we should be given the chance to.

Pretty much a classic example of what is WRONG with these forums. The fact that bitching, whining, complaning and being negative about the game is considered to be the NORM for the forum. It boggles my mind that people would call a person having FUN and enjoying the game a "Troll." Calling half the idiocy that gets posted here "constructive" is a joke.

Yes there are constructively critical posts here too, if you weed through the other garbage, but it is just hilarious that a post like the one originally made can prompt some people to say "If you're happy with the game then don't post here" What a **edit**ing joke.

And the funny thing is I pretty much agree with the bulk of what the poster had to say. The poster is RIGHT that the TK class should not be gods, nor should any other class. The poster is RIGHT that the biggest people complaining are pvp-only/pvp-obsessed folks and this game does not primarily cater to pvp, as STATED DIRECTLY by the devs. And I agree with the poster that this is one of the things that attracted me to the game. I agree with the poster about the fun and have also spent most of my time thoroughly enjoying the class. And guess what else, I'm not going anywhere.

It's time for happy positive people to take the boards back and time for whining ranting flaming bitching crying moaning ten year old Iamsouber Imustownzorjoo people pack back up their **edit** and move to the SWG Main Boards or Test Center Boards. These boards should be about the profession - how to be most effective in game, answering questions about the profession, discussion effective profession combos, hunting areas, interesting content encounters in game, stories from tk players - even in character stories would be great - a place to share material and trade and a place to plan events with other TKs. These things would add a dimension of depth and fun to the boards, and THAT is what is intended. Instead, the boards are more often just a stupid whine fest.

It takes pretty much no creativity or intellect to rant endlessly. It takes far more maturity and sophistication to really create an interesting and good TK community forum - which I guess goes a long way to explaining why this isn't one. I'd like to expect better for you, but I don't.

I can't believe you two really think this game was not meant to be very PvP focused. Where are you getting that idea? The game setting is the Galactic Civil War. There are Rebels and there are Imperials. Soon we will have player cities and zones of factional control that Rebels or Imperials can fight to maintain control over. How is this not PvP? If it was not PvP oriented why do you get a TEF for attacking an NPC of the opposing faction? If the game were, as you insist, not PvP oriented, then what purpose does the Master TKA serve in the endgame? We cannot tank against the hardest of creatures, that's a job other people's pets ,ust do because we are killed in one hit. We cannot fight high level NPCs with groups for the same reason. Most of the people on these boards do not want to be flat out gods, what we want is a place to exist in this game. As I see it now the only use TKA has is for low to mid PvE, and then we're the most use to one another. If I as a TKA group with a bunch of ranged people I tend to not get much experience and if I have one or two ranged friends grouped with me they tend not to...what's the point of me hanging out with them hunting? I know someone will say social reasons and I agree, except it would be nice for our class to have some kind of functionality with others in combat.

Overall, People getting upset and complaining is fine IMO. Its great that you are having a blast in game, I myself am too. I do see alot of issues with the game and hopefully it will be addressed in a manner that I can still maintain my fun. My only advice is to not let the naysayers get you down. Not everyone is going to like everything done in the game, but that is just the nature of this kind of game. In the end, it really doesnt matter what Joe Schmoe TKA thinks about anything, so long as you are enjoying things.

If there was any reality involved with this as you say then I would be able to duck, hide, and jump small walls to get to you. You also wouldn't be able to fire at me through structures either, but you can with some of them. We'd also be able to catch up to you and you'd miss us quite frequently with all the running you're trying to do.

So can you tell me what realism there is other than the fact that you can run and shoot us?

Ya know, sometimes you people really piss me off. You do what you always do. She/he posted that they liked the game and thought it was fun and didn't understand why every one was making such a ruckas. And as always you big ol' self absorbed pompus jerks go of trying to sound inteligent by completly avoiding the ACTUAL topic and point of the original post. They made a completly valad and innocent post and you go off in tangents complaining about somthing that wasn't even essential to the post, often an example of some kind.

What is wrong with you? That other girl simply backed up the first person and said that she didn't see why you people were getting ontheir case and accusing them of being a troll(clever). And that she happened to agree for the most part with what they said.

If that where the case, if the game was perfect, then only people who wanted to make it umperfect couldpost here. If i saidI wanted KDcompleatly removed from the game, could you not post becouse you don't have a problem with how it works now?

Now go off in some tangent and post about how KD couldn't compleatly removed fromthe game becouse TKA are known masters of KD in the SW universe.

Compleatly avoid the subject matter and make some stuipid commentthat is cathcy and will make you feel educated.
