A) You liked the idea of the profession and gave it a try.
B) You Saw other people using the TK skills and thought it was cool.
C) You want to be the best combat player so you picked up TK because everyone else was. (Flavor of the Month)
D) You wanted to dabble in it for the defence (and / or) meditate skills.
E) You did it for a holo profession and liked it.
F) Other______________________________.
I would say I was a (B). I saw other TK fighting and those red streaks looked really cool. Even when I saw the profession gain popularity I didn't join it right away. It wasn't until Creature Handler got it's last major nerf that I decided to give it a try.

I wanted to be a TKA when I first found out it was being included in the game
But I really wanted to be a TKA when I saw two TKAs dueling in a cantina(The moves just looked so cool)
and then when I mastered it I relised that I do really love the TKA profession. Its just a great profession(and it has the coolest moves)

Combination of (A) and (B). Standing still firing a ranged weapon over and over, although it fit the Star Wars universe, didn't seem very exciting. So basically I just had to choose between the 4 melee professions, and I liked the idea of being a martial artist.

Wanted a melee level class and I had already tried Swordsman. I was a smuggler at the time and already had unarmed 4, so it just made sense. Made the brutal climb from UA4 to TK novice and was just instantly hooked. Now everything on my character is up for changing at any moment, EXCEPT TKA.

Good point.. The damn ranged professions are just too damn boring
Plus of course Like I said before TKA just has the coolest moves I mean who can resist those moves

F.) I'm Master Weaponsmith. I need loot to make weapons. Needed a fighting profession whether I liked it or not. Being a martial artist, TKA appealed.

already had smuggler and pistoleer, so thought why not. cannot live without my meditate line. all decisions now revolve around having master smuggler and 4000 in TK

I was a TKM back in October and loved it. After about 3 months of killing everything in sight I dropped it and became a bounty hunter who can't kill a dang thing.
So I bought another account and made tank. TKM, Master Swordsman and soon to be master brawler.
Last night I soloed 2 NS Elders, I think I did a good job of making a tank.

I might go for Master Brawler as well. Got the TKM and Swordsman down already.

Combination of B, D, and F.
B because I've always thought TKAs were cool.
D because its the mediation line is so ridiculously useful.
F because I also was a smuggler and getting the triple master makes the most sense, skill-point wise. I dropped smuggler and pistoleer, but I just can't drop TKM.
Maybe some of C too, but if that was it, I'd probably just keep the meditation line and be a fencer for the stun damage.

F) I generally build my characters around one desired profession, then see what others will fit with it. In the case of my shadowfire character, I wanted to be a smuggler. Because of the overlapping smuggler prereqs, I ended up master Smuggler/TKA/Pistoleer.
