Thread: How do you set up your vendors??

I was thinking of redoing the layout of my shop.

I just recently added another shop, with Wook clothes, Ith clothes, tapestries and syn and trim vendors. It is very well laid out.

How do you organize your vendors and the different categories of clothing?

I would like to set up my orginal shop, so it makes the most sense and is user friendly for those looking for clothes.

I always separate out female-only clothing so that people don't accidentally buy things they cannot wear. Men also are more likely to buy skirts off a vendor named "unisex clothing" because they know for sure that they can wear them.

Well, right now my setup is one generic clothes vendor, one Wookiee/Ithorian vendor, one BE vendor, and one Looted Schem vendor. Half of the vendors I use are devoted to Architect stuff, so I can't use them. I'm going to be moving shortly, though, so I was pondering what to do with my vendors also. I thought of a separate one for female clothing, and one for "accessories." (shoes, gloves, hats, belts, jewelry, etc.)

Is there a list of the skirts and dresses that men CAN wear?

I am not up on this, I just toss items on my vendors

Well after my -vendor by color- thing I just had to do after Master Merchants received 12 vendors to place,

I settled into a more catigorized style.

*-W o o k i e e- Wear

Wookiee clothing

Covers

Jackets, Vests, Cloaks

Uppers

Shirts

Lowers

Pants, Skirts

Allovers

Dresses, Body Suits, etc

Accessorize-Top-to-Bottom

Headwear, Handwear, Footwear, Belts

Jewelry-and-Backpacks

Well Jewelry and Backpacks

Deals-and-Special-Items

Schematic Clothing, Modded Backpacks, BEWEAR, Reduced Items

*Ani'cul's Attire

Grab-n-Go packs, Order pick-up

I do not sell componants, and have very little other I do sell.

ThoughI will be adding a Artisan Works {PUP , TOOL, and SWOOPS} vendor shortly

Since most my decor is in museum,

my Merchant's Market (vendor house) is decorated with Grab-n-Go packs styles, and the Player made paintings.

I have a second house to display further fashions ideas and styles, Show-and-Tell

I have:

Regular Clothing

Wookie Clothing

Ithorian Clothing

BE Clothing

Schematic Clothing

Wedding Attire

Star Wars Movie Outfits

Custom Order Pickups

4 Socket Clothing.

I found keeping regular clothing on just one vendor to be far far easier when it comes to restocking. People can split things up themselves by searching catagories on the vendor, so when you come to replace sold items you dont keep accidently putting things on wrong vendor (i was forever doing this when i had vendors split into catagories)

I was thinking of adding a 4 socketed vendor... which is what sparked my thought to redesign the layout of my shop. However, if I do this, then the BE vendor won't get much use... How does that set-up work for you? Do you sell just as many non 4 socket BE clothes as you do 4 socketed BE clothes? I think I decided I'd rather have them search through the vendors for 4 socketed items instead... and hopefully buy things that are not because they like them.

my 4 socket vendor is only for regular 4 socket clothing.

My BE clothing with or without 4 sockets is all on my BE vendor.

(i also find 4 socket BE items sell about as much as non-4 socket items, due to price differences)

For me stocking and restocking is easier split up, as I do a week long once a monthstocking 1 or 2 vendors per night during that week.
{which I found to work great for me, once a month crafting week, humorously named by males I know ingame as my 'period' when I stop chatting and craft}

In fact it starts tonight..

SAT Pull and relist all placeholders (yup just incase I dont relist a group my banthas dolls keep me going)
Craft grab -n-Go packs and stock themtonight,
Pull and relist all on Specials

SUN Ithorian & Wookiee

MON Accessorize

TUES Jewelry

WEDS Covers

THURS AllOvers

FRI Uppers

SAT Lowers

I have my 'peekaboo' vendor in my workshop so I can see what is actually sitting on vendors as I craft,
so empties of particular items (I go right down the crafting tool list) are filled,
and I can see what colors I have up to offer so I don't add more of it.

I would say I have around 800 items total over 8 vendors, so I'm trying to get the rotation to 2 vendors a weekend. A weekend can be a restock of 50 or 400 vendors, depending on which vendors that are due.

When i restock i allways just prioritise regular clothing first. (which i restock daily)

If any regular clothing needs restocking i just do that first item by item till its all done.

Not till that is done will i restock BE or Star Wars outfits (my two other biggest selling vendors) then il just top up the rest as needed.

I often leave BE and Star Wars outfits a few days or upto a week or so before restocking it all at once.
