Thread: Tailors: We really need to start being more vocal

I am sick to death of this carousel of indifference. We pay these guys' salaries, we are entitiled to answers. To basically tell us that 'we know this is broken' is not good enough. I pay my $15.00 just like every other Jedi and Bounty Hunter, I deserve the same level of respect insofar as fixing a great profession that is currently messed up. If you aren't going to fix it right away, give us some communication about the issue. I work in Customer Service and there's one thing I know, you cannot keep your paying customers in the dark for long and not expect a revolt. I am not advocating violence against SOE employees, but I am advocating that we get together and demand to be heard.

I am going to start pm-ing each and every important person I can that will listen. Give us an ETA, give us a we-are-working-on-this, tell us it's an important issue to you, tell us you don't care, tell us to respec to Bounty Hunter and shutup... tell us something for goodness sake!

Please ... I beg you NOT to do this! You will only compound the problem. Post in the bug threads and post here and bug it through proper channels but please do not PM everyone... that is NOT the way to handle the issue.

I don't understand how being more vocal is going to make the problem worst. I believe that this awful feeling of neglect and marginilization that I feel is due to complacency on the Devs part. I want to at least make the severity of our plight known... I doubt any of the devs actually play Tailors.

How on earth would voicing our displeasure make the problem worse? What are they going to do, take away our profession from us? Oh well, no biggy considering that I'm not making any money at it because my bread and butter is not working. Let's see, what else can they do....not fix it for us? They aren't fixing it! It's been a week now! What else can they do? Not tell us what they are doing with it? They haven't given us a single bit of info concerning this other than they know it's broken. I KNOW it's broken, they haven't told us anything we didn't already know!

I hate to start on this rant here but jeezus, why do we need to take this lying down? Has SOE really done that good of a job for some of you in making you actually feel guilty over not playing a combat role? This is absolutely ridiculous as we all know that if this were a combat profession it would have been fixed within 24 hours. It seems that every single time I reactivate my accts, something stupid on their end happens and I end up cancelling and going another 2-3 months playing or doing something else. I miss my friends, come back, and the whole crap starts up again. One things for sure though, each time I come back and spend less and less time here and cancel earlier. Eventually it's going to get to the point where it just ain't gonna happen at all. Hopefully lol

Funny you should mention this... I was JUST looking through the combat professions to see which path I wanted to take for my new character. Guess what... most of the combat professions have their share of problems too. So don't even tell me that combat professions would have been instantly fixed because it just isn't true. Ask a commando, ranger, smuggler or CH what they think?

I never said don't be vocal, just go through the proper channels of communication.

Well, we see how well the proper channels have worked up until this point. No disrespect to those who are in position to filter communication upward, but this isn't getting the job done. Another approach is needed, and perhaps the customer base needs to make a scene for this to happen.

Ok then

call SOE customer service complain there

email SOE customer support rant away

join the SOE live chat spew it forth

if you feel that will make the difference then you should be doing it instead of posting here on professional forums
which,I am most fairly sure, DEVs do not read nor care for in their daily routine

/bug, /ticket, call, email, chat, cancel....
just please stop thinking yelling here makes it that much higher on the to do list, thisis our place, not the DEVs

I'm sorry, but I just don't care about the others that are broken right now, I just care about tailors lol. Ok, the other broken professions do have my sympathy, but they are able to go out there and make some money for themselves with their chosen combat professions (at least I hope they are). Ok, I'm assuming they are. But with this particular issue concerning tailors, this is just causing me to not be able to make 1/10th of the credits that I was making before, and I'm NOT rolling in enough credits to let this roll off my back.

I can't let myself get worked up about smugglers, commando's, CH's and possibly other combat professions that aren't working correctly right now because they can still do groups, get missions, make money. I on the other hand, have to wait for this to get fixed before I can do a damn thing.

Most of the devs that I talk with (yes I do) feel that soe should shut down the forums completely, because it is a place to rant and complain. They all avoid it... It's here for the fan base, and not much else. They are running a business. They have 300k accounts to deal with. They have 5k accounts with a jedi (small potatoes, at less than 2% of the accounts) But they have gotten alot of work done to them.

Tailors are a small minority as well. The problem with us is primarily that most of the BE tissues did not work post CU, and so fixing the BE tissues to work in clothing is putting the horse before the cart. They have alot more work to do on fixing the mods before ensuring they actually fit in the cloth.

The focus of the last major publishes and the CU is COMBAT... Sorry crafters, I feel your pain. I am Master Dancer, Master BE and Master Tailor. I got the big ol' nerf stick on everything. Once most of the CU bugs are removed, they can move on to the other professions. Smuggler has been broken since original beta. Ranger is pretty bad now, CH needs major love, there are big issues in the combat sections like elemental damage that is quite a challenge for them.

Do I condone their complacence and poor communication? Hardly, but I understand who is making the rules, and how things work.

Bottom line.... DON'T SPAM A DEVor you will get a ban from the forums, or worse! Send a POLITE and SHORT note to Gyopi. She is our channel to the devs.

I think us tailors have been pretty vocal about thepublish 18 BE clothing bug. I was on the In Live thread, and I've seen many posts about BE clothing.

I know it's hard sometimes, but stay calm, dude

I have played SWG since beta. I have always been a tailor. There has always been problems with tailor and with other professions as well. I would get frustrated with issues as well but I kept going with what I had. Then due real life issues, I had to leave for a year and recently came back. Yes I am a tailor again! Despite all the problems, I love being a tailor. I make due with what I have. I guess the money never became an issue for me. I just enjoy crafting and being creative.

I know it can be annoying waiting for a fix but you have to admit that being a tailor is a rewarding profession.
