Ok I would prolly call it a fix but surveying missions were nerfed today. Now you need to find generic ressources (metal, gas) and it gives 50% less credits.

Were you carrying a weapon when you checked the terminal? I thought they were nerfed once too, until I realized that I didn't have my gun in my hands.

Oops yeah you are right.

But what is the point of having artisan missions depend on weapons? lol

Beats the heck out of me. I don't think that was intended - they probably included some code in the new terminal from the old destroy missions by mistake.

My best guess is that the intent is to check surveying skill before offering payouts.

BTW, artisan crafting missions are exceedingly lame. If any of those NPCs want to attract my interest, they'll commission 20 cloaks for 100,000 credits... heck, I'll even deliver

I've always had the low grade missions whilst my close friend has always had the good ones. Gun or no gun. I'm most upset about it.

Ok so if you need to have gun equipped what kind of gun all I have is a stupid little CDEF Pistol which does not seem to effect the level at all. If I can get a decent one for cheap enough I think it might be worth it to allow me to run higher level missions to make more money. RIght now not being a Master Tailor is killing me and I can't afford to get enough resources to grind without running missions.

Yes I know there are alot of you out there that hate grinding, I do to but have to in order to keep up with the people around me. A Master Tailor has a shop really close to mine.

Anyhow just need a suggestion on a guun that will allow me to take higher level survey missions.

Well the problem is that it depends on your skill as well. I have novice pistoleer, I use a dx2 (best weapon I can get with my skill)and I can get missions that pay up to 1800 cr, to give you an idea.

This is caused by the programmers laziness. Instead of programming a new type of mission, they just threw a sheet over the old missions and said, Look artisan missions.

I can however justify the increase in pay compared to the destroy missions. In the destroy missions, the players gain EXP as well as creds, where we just waist our time running around.

I wonder if weapon quality per se is considered here, or just the "brand" of pistol? E.g., if you got a really crappy "weaponsmith's reject pile" version of the best pistol you're qualified for, would the mission terminal evaluate it the same as a stunningly successful pistol? If so, might be a way to get them "on the cheap."

If I remember, I'll make a zip gun CDEF and check it out. It may just be based on weapon skill (I'm Carbine IV/Support III).

Well, I got a max mission value of 900 whether I have my newbie CDEF pistol equipped or nothing equipped. My combat skills are basically non-existant, so I'm not sure if I can even equip a gun that will make a difference.

That's okay.. I've become a master at running 2 missions at a time while grinding. Last week's patch has really left me with no other choice - I need the cash to keep everything running. I get 1600 to 1800 credits every time I run 1024m round trip. My brain turns to mush by the end of the night, but at least my bank account is healthy and I've gotten 2 skillboxes this week.

what gun you have equiped does not matter at all.

what matter is your skill with the equiped weapon.

so a master carbineer with a cdef out will get better missions than a novice carbine user with an elite carbine out. quality of the weapon doesn't matter.

it's all just skill, and the way the terminal detects your skill is by checking your currently equiped weapon TYPE (i.e. pistol, or dagger, or unarmed, or heavy acid rifle, or whatever).

so artisans with little or no combat skills are SOL.

yes, it's silly.
