Thread: Synth Panels What's a Fair Cost
Doh, accidentally posted without writing my question.
What is a fair rate for synth panels? I feel they should be cheap, but at the same time if someone asks me to make 1000 of them, when I could make a TON of other things instead, I think that should be worth something. I give most my clothes away actually, but I really don't want to sit down and grind out 1000 panels. I know that when factories are readily available this entire situation will change. But for now, how much would you charge for 100 panels? Or 1000?
A lot of my prices are directly based on a formula based on item complexity value. So Synthetic Cloth is 15 and I'd sell them using the formula (15 x a)-b = price Where a is amount wanted and b is any adjustment I'd make if I thought it was an unreasonable price =p
Okay so I do a lot of math in Tailoring... actually my excel spreadsheet does it. I'm not obsessive really! heheh =p
Anyway 100=1500cr and 1000=15000cr I may change that once I get a factory.
I sell my factory crates of 25 for 3750. That is 150 per cloth. I had one guy argue hard that that was too much money and I was not at market rates. I asked him if there were any crates on the market. He said no because he bought them all up. I proceeded to sell every crate thereafter for my price. I think I can raise the price and still sell because there are almost no factory crates around. When supply meets demand I will lower my price.
1. Apparently, higher-level armor stops requiring synthetic cloth altogether (I figured it was like synth cloth for tailors or fiberplast panels for artisans - something you need throughout the line) and/or:
2. Every friggin' armorsmith is also a Novice Tailor just for the purpose of making the **edit** panels, because it's easy.
So the factory I figured to be a big revenue generator is starting to look like a big money sink until I get Field Wear II (which I didn't really even want all that much in the first place.)
Well, at least *I* need to use the synthetic cloth a lot myself, so it's not a total loss....
