Thread: Gah they do it on the limited use schematics items now too :(
This is what we get, or should I say people like me get, for being honest. I wish I was a lame ass... I really wish I was.. I've had SO freakin many leathers with no serials, I could have made schematics for Tons of things, even the items that take two leathers. Same goes with the damn clasps. I'm sick of being the good guy.. WE are the only ones who SOE screws in the end!!!! Will they go back and track all the people who used this exploit and ban them? No. Is it do-able? YES. They just won't.. in stead, it will be those of us that the exploiters call lame for notexploiting and doing it while we could, that will end up screwed by the freakin company that CLAIMS to put us first. What a joke!!! You'd think I would be use to it by now but for some reason, I just can't get use a "the bad guys win" mentality. I could have had schematics of 1000 for almost all tailor, loot items. Think about that!! If I COULD, then how many DO? You are just seeing the beginning of a storm that is brewing.
I thought this recent bug was hotfixed last week.

The low price isn't a result of people dabbling around with tailoring. We're seeing the low prices because of the bugged pieces of unserialized heavy duty leather.

I got most of them for free too, but the schematics themselves (medic and food, toolkits) are getting rare and pricey enough that it's a waste to use any set of less than 8 for them now... I still think it's a very low blow to the other tailors of the server to sell them at such a ridiculous price.
That tailor was me.....i went out got those schematics myself so they cost me nothing. I get leather all day long at 2k a unit. These items sat on my vendor almost a month at 70k with no sale (and yes they were advertised) so i put them on special. Sorry you think its a low blow to other tailors ,im in it to make money not spend money and watch stuff sit on my vendor and rot cause i dont have the customers that some of the tailors have who have been around longer.
I had another guy tell me to you should be selling those at 500k each , all i got to say is this:
People charging that kind of cash for items such as this are just to funny . 500k for a peice that took me about 3k in material and 15 minutes in time to get a schematic? If your fine with paying that kind of money for this stuff then go pay it , but i refuse to jack up the price on an item like this just because some people think its rare or hard to get .Cause these scematics are niether hard to get or rare i still have 2 chef schematics and 3 med schematics left sound rare?
On a side note i use one of these aprons myself and get the same results with or without it on (sounds broke to me or worthless) so now tell me again why i shouldnt sell these at 30k each?
Like the sign next to my vendor say's....The price of items reflects what i had to pay for the material in them
If it costs me little to make they will get it for little , end of story .

Uh yeah... I thought unserialed pieces should be now acting as similar, not identical, components. Let me know if they are still exploitable.

As far as I am concerned, people can charge whatever they want. Tailors come and go so fast that none one is a real threat to sales anymore. Even a lot of the well established tailors are gone (No more Smi, Bindi or Vankka
). I am also confused about how you know you have 2 more chef schematics and 3 med schematics? You can't know what they are until you learn them! I have a bag of "crafter's apron" schematics and I have no idea of which ones they are until I use one up and go through my bag to try to relearn it.

You simply don't know what these aprons and toolbelts are good for, thats all. They are mostly cheap experimentation bonuses. You need to add +10 to get one extra experimentation point and the aprons and belts have +5 and +3 so by themselves they don't change anything. Experimentation skilltapes generally go for 1 million credits per +1, so these schematics are a very cheap way to gettting extra points. If you are a chef, for example, you can pay 10 million for for +10 in skilltapes to get an extra experimentation point, or you can buy an apron (400K from me) to give you +5 and then spend 5 million for the other +5. You save 4.6 million that way. Does that make any sense?

That is fine, but remember that the weaponsmiths making your weapons, the armorsmiths making your armor and the doctors buffing you are not playing by those rules.

you are taking a very short-sighted view on this. Look at it this way... each person can run the jabba/faction themepark missions exactly one time. Many people will never run the missions for whatever reason. The number of people who have yet to run them but intend to is shrinking daily. These schematics are like beach front property. There is only a finite number of them in the game and each time a tailor uses one, that number shrinks. So cool, you sell them and get them out of your inventory. now what? What happens when somebody comes and asks you for one a week from now. A month from now? Two months from now? Where will you get more schematics from?

I have the same problem on my server. I can't get ahead....I have been spending more than I make for looted materials.
Here is one that was on our trade forums:
Demolitionist Belts -> 25k
Droidsmith's Toolsets -> 25k
Exquisite Leotards -> 15k
Lightweight Military Backpacks -> 125k
Spec-Ops Agent Backpacks -> 125K
Tailor Crafter's Apron -> 100k
Chef Crafter's Apron -> 175k
It pains me to think about the people doing this & how little respect they have for the profession & for their peers.
You'll have to tell us where the NPC is that clears the quests is because as far as I know you can only make them once, and it was intended to be that way so that people don't farm them. The aprons are rare, especially the medic and chef ones, because people can only do the quest once and those two schematics are the rarest. I'm curious of how you know what kind of schematic you have left too, as far as I know you can only say by learning them.
Now, if you only made 3 items per schematic I guess it's your loss, you could have sold the schematic for 150k and get more money while saving you time and resources. I use the same arguments for doctors who sell their finished products at about 3 cpu, why bother if they could just have sold the resources at3 to 5cpu and saved themselves the trouble? In all honestly, lots of people use the argument of 'it didn't cost me much to make' and don't take into account the market value of the resources nor the finished product.
